To understand this poem, it is essential to read/listen to the very end of it. I think Kipling was a very wise and prophetic man. Maybe it should be obligatory reading and study in all schools. You read it well.
My dad used to recite this to me when I was very young. I still can hear his voice most clearly in my head when I recite it to myself. However, your version is so much better that I've got a new appreciation for the piece. Thanks for your contribution.
Absolutely increadible! As a Soldier and Police Officer I have always loved Tommy Atkins and Gunga Din. Your facial expressions added volumes to the reading. As a child my father would quote lines from Gunga Din and I think I was partially to make me realize that there is no job that is unimportant and never look down on anyone.
@Caspar33 Really, I mean it. I'm a guy, but it makes me want to sit down and have a conversation with you. I feel like it would be mind bending. I am honestly really impressed at how well you can lose yourself and layer character on top of character. Brilliant.
Dear Sir, May I suggest you do this again ;another take without errors? Your interpretation is superb-Ralph Richardson could not have given it more life and realism If you are not an actor by trade, you should be.. Another take would banish any criticism of your fine art. Thnak you for sharing your talent and emotion.
'You don't give yourself enough credit. I have heard Gunga Din many times and yours was the first ever to make me cry. Its so much more then just words. Thank you.' Thanks loclynn - It is an exceptional piece of writing and I love it.! Thanks.
Bravo Bravo.
