the 90's sucked ass . . . except for the music . People are into music for different reasons today than they were back then . Too many sell-outs tryin to please the masses . Everyone should write music that suits themselves . If someone else does'nt like it , then thats their problem . If its honest though people will atleast respect it . And maybe just like it also ...
@Reeko747 Everyone seems to be concerned with money and success, they create this image that the masses fall in love with but what they don't realise is when a different generation looks back at todays music it will be ridiculed as it will be shown for what it really is - unoriginal re use of the same shit over and over again
There are dangers. I love this song so much, the doolittle album is the best! I wish I wasn't a 90's child, so I could of been surrounded with this music while it was actually in the making.
I was a teen in the 90s, you know, it was great, but we were all so miserable, lol, no wonder it was the grunge era, we felt like shit most of the time
@mchelo18 See, I will of course, be considered a teen during the 2000 Era. Oh great, everyone will see it as a music hell and the beginning of the end.
see, I would of loved to be born in... the 60's. I could had the chance, but of Vaguely remember a Beatles concert.
I could of seen Joy Division, Cure, Nirvana, and everything else... though I have had the greatest chances to see Gorillaz and Ani Defranco.. pretty soon Mumford and Sons and Flaming Lips and Primus :)
@mchelo18 kids nowadays don't try to feel shit, but we all kinda feel like there's no reason to study, graduate, etc. You know, the typical life, we're so bored of it. So we go partying and drinking, taking drugs... I hope my generation at least spawns some great artists
what you say is pretty much how we felt, there was no perspective and the future seemed a pile of corporate shit, not much has changed. I think there are great bands now, the only problem is that the ways to get to know them are more scattered, there is less space for bands like this in mainstream media, so you have to search in alternative websites, magazines, etc. On the other hand, now we can download nearly everything, so there is no limit to what you can find and hear! :)
@TheDp321 Is that really everything to blame? Of course, society tries to make us feel like adults way too fast, making us feel responsible for things, taking them too seriously and thereby losing the fun and spontanity of experimentation. 15 year olds take relationships way too serious instead of just experimenting and discovering sex and all that, making good basics for later relationships. We always blame ourselves, we're not worthy etc.
@TheDp321 part 2 here: If you know what's wrong with your generation, try changing it. That's what they did back then and it (sorta) worked, music gave them something to go through those dark days.
For myself, I'm almost 20 and have a brother that's classified as a "generation Y", inbetween the X and ours. I'm too old to be a ME and too young to be a Y, but I feel like I can make a change. Be it in art, any sort of it :)
@FANCYBREADmusic dude they've had shite music every generation, but the good shit gets remembered, you have to go looking for it, our generation has the internet so you can literally go out and find the most unique and amazing music that would have gotten little or no exposure in a pre-world wide web era...
@FANCYBREADmusic Nirvana was being shoved down people's throats by MTV back in the 90s. It's no different than it is now, it just happened to be that the most popular band was also pretty good. The market has changed so MTV plays different stuff. They're just pandering to teens to make money, it wasn't any different before. That's business.
This song reminds me/makes me want to play Red Dead Redemption. I dunno it just sounds like old cowboy type music. Don't know/care if anybody agrees with me.
The vocals in this particular song make me think of Oh No Ono! Great tune. Sounds like mournful slaves hauling a heavy load or perhaps painstakingly chipping away at stone with pickaxes, or some Western vigilante walking away from some vengeful deed he's done.
Doolittle>Nevermind. It just is. I know Nevermind was actually a great album, which unfortunately got crazy overplayed, but come on. This album has way more depth musically, and is just way more fun.
anyone else think this amazing song would be perfect for an opening for fallout ?

Brilliant show!
I was pleasantly surprised the band did "Silver" live. I assumed that "Silver' was a studio only track.
Live version is excellent with Kim Deal's vocals and playing at their peak.
