  • I've always dreamed of going to Russia and doing this when I'm older. How much does one flight cost anyway?

  • Why NASA did not make an investment in this type of aircraft to go into space? It would be cheaper than rockets?

  • ..." I fell the need....the need of MiG, high altitude and speed..." ;)

    MiG-25 - plane of dream

  • Pure paradise! U are one lucky guy!

  • How much does this flight cost?

  • Notice this video never shows the altimeter at or above 70K feet. The MiG 25 was an overweight abject failure, and never achieved its primary reason for being: shooting down an SR-71. Love this piece of junk if you want. The Israelis shot them down with F-4s in 1973, at which time the 25s retreated to the USSR. Complete and total failure not worthy of any praise whatsoever, much less spending money for a flight in one. DT, USAF 1969-1979.

  • @TheHeenow What a shame. The guy that posted this had the time of his life - a fantastic opportunity to do something most of us will never have the chance to do, and you have to turn it into a "My dick's bigger than yours" competition. There's a time and a place and your views are totally irrelevant here. This is one reason why Americans have the reputation around the world for being "strong in the arm but weak in the head".

  • @Tony27nine Thanks a lot for this comment. The video is online since 2006 and such "fights" are always here. There are unfortunately people out who do not have respect of others and only have to talk about things, who nobody is interested in. You can show what ever you want, fantastic things (we have a lot of this!) but sometimes somebody is trying to give a fist in the face for nothing. Thanks again, Tony 27nine.

  • @TheHeenow Mach 3.2 top speed. Pretty good if you ask me

  • THUMBS UP IF you wanted generals mig!

  • You are one lucky person. If only I could afford to do this, it would be a dream come true :(

  • this flight could not reach 20 km height, the pilot must have a hermetic suit, to resist the low-pressure. The helmet seems on screen is not suitable for this requirement. At this flight the elevation was maximum 10 km.

  • @Gazsoka66 Sorry, I do not want to be sound arrogant, but you do not have any knowledge about what you are talking about here. And the flight was not 20km, it was much more higher as 25km. We did not use pressure suits, the cockpits are pressurezised. This was my own flight, and I know exactly which altitude I cruised. From one standpoint it was dangerous because out of a possible emergency situation for eject the cockpit in high altitudes. But, thank whom else ever, it never happened

  • Man...wish knew a pilot!

  • does this make him an astronaut too????

  • @puroRAPeros No, you must reach 100 km to be an astronaut.

  • I was talking with GOD. yes GOD, the mountain cap is to ground air traffic at 1st, cause countrys don't rise anymore, then, he doesn't stay pissed forever, can overturn himself, the mountain sepperates the flying car traffic from the space traffic, once he gives us the know how (anti Gravity), hence sky scraper problems, can/ may release as He sees fit!

  • @hideaway33 Wow Man, what the hell are you on....

  • The f-22 can go that high too its max ceiling is 65,000 feet

  • @YungTrappaCST F-22 first flew in 1997, MiG-25 in 1964. Not saying one is better then the other, but it's comparing apples to oranges.

  • it kinda boggles my mind when I think that the altitude being flow there is about half the thinkness of the Earths crust. Its just when you look at the slight curvature of the horizon and contemplate the scale of the whole thing it makes your head feel a bit fuzzy inside. Awesome stuff.

  • what happens when he goes a tiny bit further then the edge of space?

  • '

i like american SR-71 is the best airplane than ussr russia mig-25

  • @bestamerica ha ha you idiot

  • @Roofius2 No blamings here, please.

  • wasnt this MiG made to stop the Sr-71?

  • @elpin31 nah it was a super fast interceptor, built during the same time the sr-71 was being designed. But in theory a SR-71 can outrun a mig 25, since the sr-71 can to mach 3 during mission time no prob were as from what i have read the 25 can cause itself engine damage above mach 2.8. I am also unsure of how long the mig can stay at high altitude for, most of the stuff i read is a full afterburner climb and then they level off till they lose speed and start coming down.

  • @MrGeforcerFX

The MiG-25 only needed to get close enough to fire its missiles. A missile can go at mach 5 so even an SR-71 is vulnerable. This is why overflights of the USSR suddenly ended.

  • @rickcain2320 dependent on the range of the missles and the radar built in, from what i was reading the built in radar of the mig-25 had a hard time locking onto a sr-71, also the sr-71 was given counter measures, i think the flights also stopped since we had started to utilize satellites more, which the MIG 25 was also able to shoot down, same as the f-15 could. I think we realized it wasn't worth the intel we were getting to put a mans life at risk.

  • At 4:21 minute looks like you are on the space shuttle.

  • Interesting STARSHIP-esq music that comes along almost ALL videos from Russia! Maybe TOP GUN was an inspiration...

  • Why Music ??? I wanned to hear the engines ..

  • NOBODY Commented on the music yet!

  • no space suit?

  • just watching random edge of the space videos.

  • The Soviet scientific great people

  • Let me laugh even harder. In Russia there is no technology and quality. Pure propaganda

  • how much cost me one ride i live in mexico thanks

  • @MrAadef1 The flight alone around 18000 Euros

  • There is no doubt that this was a most excellent adventure but ten miles up is no where near the edge of space.

  • shame all the filming is done from inside the cockpit would be good on the wing tips like the Airbus for instance.

  • I wonder when you fly up there...do you feel a change in your perspective about the Earth and the Humans living on it?

  • I've heard they stopped this? No Civilists can fly anymore, is that true?

  • @SuperGeronimo999 Yes. The MIG-25 flights at the Zukhowsky Airbase were stopped in 2006. For Edge of Space Flights the MIG-29 is still available.

  • @SEL9000: Danke!

  • @SEL9000 Why did they stop the mig-25 flights if you can still do it in a mig-29?was the mig-25 un air worthy?what packages do you do that take you to the max ceilingof all?

  • @VIKINGODIN The flights were stopped because of some "political decisions" in mid of 2006. Also, the only existing MIG-25 was running out of service. Such a jet to hold alive is very expensive and you can't fly so many tourists for the worth of one of the two jet turbines. The MIG-29 isn't flying the same profile, it can't get so high as during the MIG-25 flights. Visit our website, you will find the flight profiles there. The edge of space flight with the MIG-29 are spectacular because of view.

  • @VIKINGODIN

also, there was an accident during one of the flight with tourist when one fo the engines broke down and stopped. After that reveled that the aircraft is out of service and all that tourists-buisness isn`t really leagal. Fothermore, that MiG-25 is the flying test laboratory (test-bed) so it runs out of life cycle and service muc before its written in official papers -- because of the complicated test-flights in 80`s and early 90`s. sad but true.

  • @SEL9000 hen did they start it?

  • how do u sign up for this??

  • Stupid question but what would happen eventually if you just kept aiming up? How high can anyone go?

  • @MightyZarkon not sure how high it would get but eventually the airplane will stall out and fall back to earth, there wont be enough air traveling over the wings to produce enough lift. Plus the engine starts to starve itself of oxygen when it's up that high.

  • Man, if there was a pressure failure, that pilot would be gone.

  • nothing is better than sex....

  • This MUST be better, than sex!!!

  • Did you see the inside of the cockpit and those engines? That thing is BUILT!

  • i heared that it has to keep over 2mach to let engine get enough air over 27000m high, is that true?

  • ни каких оранжевых костюмов,

    кожаная курточка, шлем и 25.000м+

    высота - вот это красота!!!

  • how much is a flight?

  • For a beast designed for the sole purpose of chasing down the SR-71...I like this use for it more :)

  • Wow thats a beast of a plane!

  • Goofy looking helmets and masks.

  • whats the name of the music?

btw very nice view from up theyre ;)

  • lol now take a trip on the U 2

  • Now that was a magnificent sight flying on the edge of space can't get any more magnificent than that

  • @DKS225 Thats right. But in the next years we will fly higher! ;)

  • @SEL9000 Now that will be even more magnificent people other than astronauts flying into space itself doe be sure to bring your camera as the snaps you take from space will be treasured for a lifetime.

  • @SEL9000 The Migs 25 and 31 are so similar. What is the main difference between the two?

  • @edawg792 They only look similar, really. They took the general layout and structure of the MiG-25, and stretched it to hold more fuel and a second cockpit for the RO (behind the pilot, rather than taking the place of the radar as you see here). They strengthened the wings and fuselage to allow supersonic flight at low altitudes, and revised the frame to allow the use of more nickel-steel, titanium, and aluminum so the structure used less weight, and added more fuel, and low-bypass turbofans.

  • @SEL9000 As soon as Boeing and Airbus both get off their asses.

  • how did he know where is the spot to landing from outside the earth to the airport?

  • @24kojiful , what the hell are you asking ? This jet just like any other plane, keeps track of it's position based upon the direction of radio towers at various airports ... now days satellites ... back then, towers.

  • @yynnmmbb oh okay. lol. but the plane is only flying inside our planet. not outside the earth like this jet. but thanks for the info anyway.

  • @24kojiful , who cares how high up the plane is, in atmosphere, out of atmosphere, whatever. doesnt matter. radio waves are radio waves. we use them to talk to the Mars landers - right ?

  • @yynnmmbb NASA use Radio waves to hear the sound from space too you know. i have no idea about this mars landers haha. all i know is that there is a rover robot there and she's stuck there for a long time. until now.

  • WORLD RECORD (FAI)

    Altitude : 37 650 m

    Date of flight: 31/08/1977

    Pilot: Alexandr FEDOTOV (USSR)

    Course/place: Podmoskovnoe (Russia)

    Aircraft: Mikoyan/Gurevitch E-266M

Only for your information, regards SEL

  • @SEL9000 What at the SR-71?

  • @SEL9000 Lockheed U-2 Flight - 70,000ft is far from 37k rite?::)

  • @CHRISMAD01

The U-2 is almost uncontrollable at that altitude. It has a stability speed that narrows at that height. Too slow and you fall out of the sky, too fast and your wings fall off. A very dangerous thing, spying.

  • Soviet Union: Can't build a car, can't build a country, but damn can they build a plane!

  • @b0bd0le101 Yeah its quite awesome but damn its so ugly!

  • @b0bd0le101 they are very very good at rape too

  • @b0bd0le101 In Soviet Russia... you don't build plane, plane build itself.

  • @b0bd0le101 absolutely! though their technology is not as "sophisticated" they have got some amazing achievements under their belts. I have always admired anything they have put in the air! God Bless always.

  • @b0bd0le101

Пиздишь, bro!)) Хотя в чем-то ты и прав.

  • Suicide mission in that old POS. I'm waiting for the day it comes back in pieces.

  • after a flight of that speed and alt the engines are ruined and need changed. Plus the plane cant sustain that speed for more than a few minutes. It was a decent interceptor, for 1980 but it was quickly outmatched by the west.

  • Oh brother! If I ever get rich, I'll sure go for this! Betting the lottery tomorrow!!! =P

  • @Markoemilio

Same here, but not even with all my earns from my life I will be able to buy one of those :S

Soo, mmm well I´ll stick with the lottery option lololol

  • Need 17,000 Euros....... NOW!!!!!

  • We are told that that he Max ceiling of the MIG-25 is 2700 m at Mach 3.0, is this correct?

  • @TheBlacksan: Well, I think you forget some Zero's in it. Its 27.000m + ;)

    Best, SEL

  • Amazing views I want to go up.

  • pilot looks very cool

  • rust is eating up that Methuselah

  • how much does this all cost or is it not for like tourist and civlians?

  • @Womenftw12345 Unfortunately, the MIG-25 flights ended in 2006. It was possible for civilians. Today, we are using the MIG-29 for "Edge of Space Flights". Also a good choice. But the flights with the MIG-25 were awesome. For me, also for our customers. Best regards, SEL

  • @SEL9000 how much doe sit cost tho?

  • @Womenftw12345: Depends on, what you want to fly and wich program you want to have around. You can sent me a e-mail at office[at]space-travellers[dot]com with your contact details, and we can speak about this all and we will give you an offer, if you want.

  • Maximum altitude for MiG-25 is over 80,000 ft (24.7 km) for RB models.

  • Magnificent clip... and what a magnificent bird!

  • should've went to the moon.

  • i dont know how high space is so how high was that

  • @ondamountain Space is at 100km or 300,000ft. The flights with the MIG-25 were going between altitudes of 78,000 - 92,000ft

  • @SEL9000 Ahh thank you By the way does this need training? and how much for a flight?

  • @SEL9000 Total BS. An operational MiG-25 couldn't get above 70,000 ft., and only briefly at that altitude. It was designed for the sole purpose of intercepting the SR-71, and it was a complete and total failure at that mission. The SR-71 crews' reaction to a MiG-25 intercept was to ignore it.

Heavy stainless steel construction with a tube radar in the digital age condemned this POS to the dustbin before its first flight. Several were shot down by Israeli F-4s. What a piece of junk!

  • @TheHeenow: If you think its BS, think what you think. I made 2 flights with the MIG-25, and I know exactly about what I am talking. I do not want to take care anymore about, which plane is better etc. etc. We can talk about facts, not about theoretical thinkings. Best, SEL

  • @SEL9000

Where in your video is there a shot of the altimeter? At least in James Mays' U-2 video there is a shot of the altimeter (actually an LCD display) at 70,000 feet. He said later he was told not to shoot the altimeter above that.

And how do we know the MiG 25's performance? We had a brand new one due to a defection in 1976, and we flew it. I personally was assigned to help evaluate its radar.

I know you are nationalistic, and I appreciate that. But get real when it comes to facts.

  • @TheHeenow Nationalistic? I do not know, why I am should be nationalistic. I am not a Russian, we are working with the Russians, and we are loving it.

  • @SEL9000 You missed the point. Where is there a shot of the altimeter?

  • @TheHeenow: What you want to say, you need a proof? Okay, you can come over to Germany then I will show you the original flight documents from the Gromov Flight and Research Institute. You will wondering about the digits and facts. Also, pardon me, there are also some other videos about MIG-25 flights from our side on YouTube. With an "eagle eye", you can see the altimeter. Also, in the next time will be a reedited version in HQ online, and I will promise, I will build it in, only for you. BR, S

  • @TheHeenow

    google: zoom climb

    do your homework!

  • It was heavily upgraded after the defection, it was damaged on crash so it couldn't fly, when did we fly it? Where was it intercepted by Israeli F-4's? They couldn't catch it nor could the Hawk missile system engage it, siren ecm. The ones shot down were export models flown by inexperienced pilots. Pilots in Vietnam said it best, if the other guy is a much better pilot you have already lost. The 123,000ft. record was ballistic in a stall at around 75kph in apex with more powerful engines.

  • @SEL9000 what model is the mig only a few could break the 70000 feet mark

  • @skittlepower95 This version, what we flown during the time, was a MIG-25 UB (NATO Code 'Foxbat B'). 'U' stands for 'Uchyebnii' (Training) and 'B' stands for 'Bombardirovschchik' (Bomber). The single seater, its a 'RB' model - 'Razvedchik Bombardirovschchikhis' (Reconnaissance/Bomber). It was possible to fly with this kind of the jets in altitudes behind 80,000ft.

  • @SEL9000 kk i read somwhere that it was the fb or rb that could ascend beyond 70000feet

  • @TheHeenow The MIG-25 was actually a very good fighter for its period

  • @M0lomir

Not exactly. Six of them, flown by Russian pilots out of Egypt, were shot down by Israeli F-4s in the 1973 Yom Kippur war. Not exactly a stellar fighter performance.

In that same war, an SR-71, which the MiG-25 was designed to intercept, flew from California to the Mideast to Maine in 11 hours nonstop. No MiG-25 ever got close to it, although they tried. The Mig-25 was an abject failure at its primary mission.

That's not my definition of "very good."

  • Comment removed

  • @TheHeenow You are wrong, it was designed in response to the B-58 Hustler, upgraded for the B-70 Valkyrie and never intended to intercept the SR-71 which was made specifically to fly outside it's and soviet SAM's flight envelope. Not only that but WTH are you talking about shot down 6 of them? They all returned to Russia fine and took plenty of very high quality pictures, I don't think there were even 6 in Egypt. I think you are mistaking the Iraqi pilots in export MIG-25's.

  • @TheHeenow I believe the MIG-31 / AA-9 Amos combination was to deal with things like the SR-71 which had come AFTER the MIG-25 and used the most advanced technologies the west had, consequently costing far in excess of what any MIG cost. The MIG-31 radar was superior to the original F-14's. An operational MIG-25 most definitely could zoom climb up to SR-71 height and release a missile if it could get a lock and angles which is doubtful. More likely late model S200 would handle it.

  • how come russia dont work at bomber aircraft ?

  • @DoyourCes Bombers are the battleships of the sky. They are big, impressive and virtually pointless. Missiles and fighters can do the same jobs much more efficiently and accurately. That's why the US won't replace the B52, Russia doesn't Replace the TU-95, and why virtually nobody else bothers with a pure bomber anymore!

  • GET OUT OF HERE SPACE MIG.

THEY'RE GOING TO KILL US ALL

THEIR CHILDREN WILL FEAST UPON OUR JETLINERS

    GOD HELP US ALL

  • they guys who get paid to fly tourist up to the edge of space have the greatest job in the world (astro/cosmo nauts excluded.)

  • Interesting. Wonder what the flight ceiling of this aircraft would be? The Blackbird had an "official" ceiling of 80,000 ft., but in reality could and did fly much higher, unofficially, of course. I've no doubt the SR-71 could fly as high as this aircraft and probably higher.

  • @Sealy57 Depends in what manner. In maintaining a certain height over a fixed track, the SR-71 is the official altitude holder in horizontal flight with 85,068 feet.

In terms of absolute altitude though, where you climb until you stall, the MiG-25 has reached an incredible 123,523 feet.

They never attempted anything similar with the SR-71. And in all honesty, you probably wouldn't want to fly an SR-71 to the point of stalling. It was a very valuable and more fragile aircraft.

  • Great vid, thanks!!!!

  • I'm not a Yankee but I was with the Royal Canadian Air Force for 11yrs(as a Support Personal not a pilot)but I've flown in CF-18s and A-4s quite few times.I was in Desert Storm,Sarajevo,Cyprus,Wales and Germany and I'm a very knowledgeable Fighter craft's buff.So if Migs are so fucking good and super how come every F-15,F-16 AND F-18s that ever engaged by a Mig alwas came out with a victory???and that' FACT check it out if don't believe me all u Mig lovers, but please don't cry bruhaha

  • @jozsefkacsa if you and your planes are so fuckin good, shut your trap, get back to your royal airforce and fly your F...-stuff, you hobby mechanic. be happy that there is no need to fight and having showdown who´s better and who´s worse, be sure, in that case you won´t be able use the word "always".

  • @jozsefkacsa I actually agree...MiGs always come second to none!

  • @rjdas97 Thanx that Russian guy got really pissed off atme cause I said that about his beloved MIGs.Well to fucking bad!!!Thanx again

  • @jozsefkacsa Well, not exactly fact. A USN F/A-18 was shot down by an Iraqi MiG-25 in 1991. There's also some debate that on the same day an Iraqi MiG-29 might have bagged a USAF F-16, but there is no clear cut story on that one. Officially it was a SAM, but pilots involved in the raid have given quite different stories about what happened.

  • @jozsefkacsa rite on

  • That must be a pretty cool experience.

BTW, that song is not Dreams by Van Halen.

  • MIG 28

  • if i wanted to do this how much would it cost me?

  • which aircraft is used for edge of space civillian travel now?

  • @dogshagga2 at the moment only the MIG-29.

  • @dogshagga2 lookheed U-2 i think

  • what is the mig's max height?

  • In 1994 I was offered one of this planes for 15k USD with full tank of fuel. That time you could buy a submarine for 50K green.. unfortunately I had no free cash at that time in hands... well really regret about the opportunity

Although I bough S-300 for 800 green .... sold it for 1K to army year later...

  • it cost 5 Million Euro´s.

  • HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? BTW IF I GO I WOULD HAVE 2 A SIDE TRIP TO CHERNOBYL!!! :( :)

  • @nviso209 Read the comments from my side: The MIG25 flights stopped in 2006 and nobody can offer this jet, also no one could give you a price for this.

  • @SEL9000 yes but how much dd u pay for it at that time??

  • @nviso209

it costs about $20000 in russia

  • how much would 1 of those trips set you back???

  • Its fun trying to go to space in the AceCombat games! :D

but then it stalls... so much for the "Edge of Space" video game experience.. D:

this song is so common xD

  • @Itachikiller12 lol but the ace combat games only let you fly up to 20,000 ft

  • @blacksoilder10 looks like ur at the edge of space though ;)

  • imagine the radiation you get exposed to up there versus down lower

  • Deutsche Freunden.

  • thats fucking awesome who gives a shit if it wasnt out of space out of pace but its still a fucking awseome veiw

  • stupid music((( i'd rather hear the engine

  • What if you were to continue flying upward?

  • @aeroflying: Somewhere is nothing more possible with a jet-turbine, without losing the control of it. The 'air' to thin for to using of a airbreathing jet-turbine. So, if you fly higher and higher and higher, the engine will have a cut off! That would be not so a good idea. This kind of flights could only be done as a ballistic flight. Pilots are aware to 100%, how high they can go or not. In general, its a risky flight path.

  • @SEL9000

Thank you. If I travel to Germany can I go on a flight?

  • @aeroflying No. :) The MIG-25 flights where conducted up to the year 2006 at the Zuchowsky Airbase nearby Moscow. For civilians: no flights onboard the MIG-25 for ever! If you want to fly high as possible, visit our webside at space-travellers[dot] com, and you will find in our left menue "Edge of Space".

  • SR71 cant be beat...YET

  • Try SR71...lol
