It is worth mentioning that this movie was made in a single weekend as part of the Cincinnati-edition of the 48 Hour Film Project (2004). The movie had to be 4-to-8 minutes in length and had to include (character) Judge J.P. Honeysuckle, (prop) a trophy/award, and (line) "Some people call me Maurice." The team also randomly drew "Mystery" as their genre and, obviously, layered "silent movie" on top of that.
The Pixelfarmers won "Best Sound" for their effort and an audience-popularity award.
Wow. Nicely done. I'm very surprised nobody has ever responded to this one. As a lover of old film, Guy Maddin and David Lynch - well done.
