Hill was apparently offered a drive at Ferrari, but didnt want to be 2nd driver to Schumacher, especially as world champion....Also McLaren were interested aswell, but had DC and MH on contracts..
schumacher is more an in-race driver in my opinion ..the percentage of schumacher and his fasted laps is much better than hills .... hill is more like a button or senna

I think what made it so special was that he kept his dignity and did not have to resort to the underhanded tactics of some of his rivals.
He remained a 'decent bloke'
I think Murray was genuinely moved for him too.

Damon in 1996 qualified either in Pole Position or 2nd Place, no lower.
