These adam tablets use junk, cheap, TN LCD panels that you find in junk netbooks. For tablets ist either IPS or nothing. You need the viewing angles and readability of IPS panels which the Adam tablet does not have.

@Micz84 I've had the iPad since it has come out and it has never frozen. My DROID devices on the other hand...freeze on a regular basis. Once they freeze, you can't do anything. I've had an app(the Text+ app) crash once or twice, and it just goes back to my home screen. Obviously you've never had an iPad.

I pad doesn't multi-task , its basically suspends apps to the background and only allows a few api's to continue working, this is not the end of the world since for most uses this is enough but its not real multitasking as many users would like.

The X is constantly hanging up and slows down when more than one or two apps are open. The iPad manages 10 apps effortlessly. When I go back, my old app its exactly where I left it. Please explain what the end user is missing. The point of multitask is so that I can leave an app and return to the same place I left it. Mission accomplished.

Its not a fair comparison. The iPad is the fastest of the three devices. The A4 chip is fast at its own, but it is because of iOS its really fast. And with 4.2.1 (which I have), you get multitasking.
Altso, its not just "small apps", its advanced programs with loads of functionality, beautifully looking games and a much larger repository than the Android.

The 2. ipad has a retina display, might have a mini usb, two ports which might be for full hd movies, the ipad has some of the best games in the world, and it might be thiner. So, if you want a stable linux super-computer, than you should take the adam. But if you want something light with awsome games and apps, than take the ipad (2). I have an ipod and it's a mess. I was hoping to see Adam in the market long time back but there is not even a blip of the hardware in the market. Adam does seem to have a lot of good features but lets come to the point. Ok this is EXTREMELY biased!!! I thumbs downed. The A4 chip is far from junk given the fact that it's in the iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, and the Apple TV. Yes it does not have multi tasking and that is one the reasons I will be gettting a Notion Ink Adam and yes I've seen promotional videos meant to advertise the HP slate and even in those showed it lagging, so despite my desire for a full sized OS I won't be buying a Slate either. The iPad does have a mic on it and the sd card slot can be achieved with a cheap camera connection kit. The adam's speakers aren't that big and the Adam cost $400 dollars at MINIMUM. The ipad only costs $800 dollars at it's highest. I you were to put the adam at it's highest it would cost the same price. Oh, and it will be released sometime in november, if not, sometime in end 2010 beggining 2011.
I have some points to make. Android is not all that stable. iPad will multitask this fall. If you want to run other apps just jailbreak it. It's been officially declared legal. Were you able to test the processor that the adam has. Listening to music only will bump up the ipad's battery life dramatically. A 3 megapixel camera isn't that impressive for the fact that it's 3 megapixels! The iPad wins the screen. It has a higher resolution and has a better full color mode then your pixleQI.

I was looking for a real comparison between the tablets. I feel disappointed by your obviously biased view. I am on a iPad right now which I have really enjoyed using. The Adam is released, it has hands on videos, and it is already in production. It runs on tegra 2 which rends a very clear image. Notion ink adam is heard every where and has great reviews from everyone. Merry Christmas! And God Bless the United States, Notion ink, and you.

OS: iPad is better. It has better apps and the OS is actually designed SPECIFICALLY FOR THE iPad
Adam is only 8gb flash. SD cards are very slow when it comes to running apps from them.
However, the adam still beats the iPad and the shitty hp slate to a pulp.
The real competition is iPad 2 vs Adam because they have closer release date.

I pad doesn't multi-task , its basically suspends apps to the background and only allows a few api's to continue working, this is not the end of the world since for most uses this is enough but its not real multitasking as many users would like.
iPad starts at $499 or £429, at a very basic spec, and really that's still too much money
You can only run unapproved apps if your iPad is jailbroken, which voids your warranty.

@glennsss ok, I hear this multi-task argument from all you Droid "fanboys" all the time. I have a droid device (Motorola X) and an apple device (iPad). The X is constantly hanging up and slows down when more than one or two apps are open. The iPad manages 10 apps effortlessly. When I go back, my old app its exactly where I left it. Please explain what the end user is missing. The point of multitask is so that I can leave an app and return to the same place I left it. Mission accomplished.

Its not a fair comparison. The iPad is the fastest of the three devices. The A4 chip is fast at its own, but it is because of iOS its really fast. And with 4.2.1 (which I have), you get multitasking.
Altso, its not just "small apps", its advanced programs with loads of functionality, beautifully looking games and a much larger repository than the Android.

Anyone who argues that iOS wins based on app store should be re-thinking it, Android is taking off!
Everyone, lets just remember that everyone has different preferences, and picking a tablet based on a review is often not the best. Look at the specs, decide what you want out of the phone/computer/tablet/console etc and pick for yourself. Meanwhile I'm voting for the Adam :)

I agree that the adam is better but this was an extremely narrow-minded video.. like the sd card support... i pad dosent need one since the flash memory is built in.. and the hdmi.. once again does the ipad really need one when theres an led right in front of you.. the flash support.. uhh duh. apps. and for $30 u get headphone jack and usb and whatever u can ever want... and the price? are u slow? you get all those features on the cheapest ipad.. what is it $400.

Well considering an iPad is $500, proven multitasking(iPhone4) update within the week, proven A4 chip, the biggest app store to date, proven OS and has been out on the market(which Apple currently dominates) for over 6 months i would def take an iPad...your also forgetting to mention OS design and ease of use for the user, if i need all those features then i will bring my laptop but to this date nothing is better for on the go than the iPad

On the other hand, this has an amazing UI and Bold multitasking concept, it has a 8 corse NVIDIA Tegra 2 and Dual core A9 (iPad has sing core A8, far slower and more power) ULP NVIDIA GPU (vs old SGX VR535) and 1GB RAM (vs 512mb on iPad)
Its display i far better Pixel Qi except when off, but its still comparable.
Aspect ratio is better
FM Radio, GPS, 2USB HDMI with 1080p 60% more battery (1600% with BL off)
Back trackpad, Swivel camera, and some hidden sensor aswell (they claim)

Not really. Adam owns it hands down. He might have missed mic for the iPad (OMG that would change my decision) but he didnt mention the dual core A9, the 1GB Ram, the super awesome OS it has (Eden), it's secret sensor, and multiple other things which deserved more coverage.

Thats baseless. See my other comments, Im a semi apple fanboi, but I admit Android is better than iOS. In tech specs, its kernel is more updated and faster. Its more open and customizable. Its more usable once you tweak it. It has NO restriction (flash VOIPover3G). Also this has its own custom UI called Eden, which looks FANTASTIC, and has some great multitasking concepts. Its super compatible with 2.3.. Its also out. Check out order. iOS only has a better store, and thats it...

The 2. ipad has a retina display, might have a mini usb, two ports which might be for full hd movies, the ipad has some of the best games in the world, and it might be thiner. So, if you want a stable linux super-computer, than you should take the adam. But if you want something light with awsome games and apps, than take the ipad (2). I have an ipod and it's a mess. I'll take the notion ink adam. (Probably.)

Games, just wait for it, Eden (Store on the Adam) will rule APpstore. Its more open, cheaper, simpler and more powerful. Also it has less hardware constraints have a better aspect ratio, processor, more ram, and better grapphics unit. It has a 180' camera, backside trackpad, larger TS, Pixel Qi (3072x600 perfect contrast) and a hidden sensor. Will be the ultimate gaming device.
Its the same wt BTW.
Only plus iPad has is iOS (not even plus for me)

I was hoping to see Adam in the market long time back but there is not even a blip of the hardware in the market. Adam does seem to have a lot of good features but lets come to the point. The bottom line is that, while adam makes such videos in isolation boasting about the features and the super capabilities that it has, Apple has already wiped the market beneath the feet of ADAM. People have waited enough and they cant wait any more and will soon go ahead and buy ipads!!

Ok this is EXTREMELY biased!!! I thumbs downed. The A4 chip is far from junk given the fact that it's in the iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, and the Apple TV. Yes it does not have multi tasking and that is one the reasons I will be gettting a Notion Ink Adam and yes I've seen promotional videos meant to advertise the HP slate and even in those showed it lagging, so despite my desire for a full sized OS I won't be buying a Slate either. But come on dude you haven't even tried any of these devices!!!

@Eggyrocks1 yea thank you for correcting me, I don't follow the firmware updates closely, I knew they were planning to implement it in an update but didn't know when or if it would be in this version of the iPad or the next one speculated to come in January or February (Apple's one year hardware cycle being the main concept behind that) I just get irritated by close mindedness and someone who is completely bashing a company or product they have never actually had any experience with.

Almost all smartphones? Are you some kind of Google fanboy? The most used OS on smartphones is Symbian not the Android! The Android use is growing fast but it still in 3rd place because its not as versatile as Symbian. Basically Symbian can be adapted to almost any cellphone even if its not a smartphone. The Android is more complex and it requires more powerful CPU. Its possible to run the Android on the first gen Iphone with 73% of its potential.

to compare and judge three tablets, two of which haven't been released yet, is pretty balsy. supposedly finalized specs are all good and well, but it's how well the machines run in my hand that I'm concerned with. while i'm all for innovation and shaking up the status quo (cheers to notion ink), apple has done a pretty good job of putting the iPad together, and HP might just throw us a curve and come out with a winner. BDM8888 give us a real review when you've got these in hand, eh?

The information on Adam you need is on slashgear, the article is called "notion-ink-adam-pricing-and-more".
The price of the adam is between $399 and $498 and the release date is set to be november / december depending on its fcc certification.
As a bonus it is set to have "preloaded with a few games titles (that are yet to be launched) from NVIDIA."

The iPad does have a mic on it and the sd card slot can be achieved with a cheap camera connection kit. The adam's speakers aren't that big and the Adam cost $400 dollars at MINIMUM. The ipad only costs $800 dollars at it's highest. I you were to put the adam at it's highest it would cost the same price. Oh, and it will be released sometime in november, if not, sometime in end 2010 beggining 2011.

I have some points to make. Android is not all that stable. iPad will multitask this fall. If you want to run other apps just jailbreak it. It's been officially declared legal. Were you able to test the processor that the adam has. Listening to music only will bump up the ipad's battery life dramatically. A 3 megapixel camera isn't that impressive for the fact that it's 3 megapixels! The iPad wins the screen. It has a higher resolution and has a better full color mode then your pixleQI.
