in the day of judgement u;ll be called by ur mother's name and not by ur father's name. that because of prophet Isa (saws). A tiny mistake by the good sheikh
So I think parents should be more careful - that is it better they learn less in terms of quantity, but make sure that what they do learn, they learn it fully and not just in a rush to memorize, etc. May Allah (swt) Guide new parents and for those of us who are yet to become ones, prepare us for that responsibility so that we may too, succeed and have righteous, pious children - after having chosen a good spouse of course! :-)
Ma'sha'allah, great talk. That was so touching that we as children have rights over our parents before we are conceived - such is the Mercy of Allah (swt)!
Also, about how we just read Al-Qur'an without knowing the meaning - I myself went to Arabic school in my younger years, and it still takes me time to read Arabic (at least from something that I haven't memorized already). Yet I know some younger than me that can read and write without any problem, yet they don't know the meaning.
Hmmm...the name thing got me a bit. According to that many, if not most, Muslim names would need to be avoided if one is concerned with what others will think of the name. My sons, Ayyoob and Abdul-Rahman, have beautiful names, but according to this maybe I should not have named them that as I live in a small area with very few Muslims? I am confused.
sorry, what was the question? I am not sure if the confusion is that those names are not appropriate. Actually, they are fine. What was being said is that sometimes we choose names which are way too difficult to pronounce and so that makes it tough for the kids.

Jazaak Allahu kheir for sharing this. Certain people often don't mention the rights of children and the rights of females while they are important.
