  • This series of videos is awesome. I appreciate My friend Pete asking the questions that I would ask if I were standing there with Javier and Ramone. Great Job.

  • hes probably saying in his mind stfu and watch lol

  • @thehernan123 your an idiot what does that have to do with anything about the video

  • let me guess the guy with the camera is white...right what a JOKE!!!

  • just a question why would you throw a white vinyl on the grown

and put glue on the floor LOL

  • @Bmotoring The ground it was thrown on is clean, and it's "Vinyl", which means it can be cleaned off, it won't hurt to put it on the ground for a few minutes, the vinyl top is a big area to apply glue. I wouldn't recommend to do it on a rainy day or out back on the dirt!.....

  • @Bmotoring Great teaching again....

  • that shit is ugly idk why you would do this to a car!! hahaha 8:43 "levantalo pa arriba" NI MODO QUE PARA ABAJO IMBESIL! HAHAHA

  • Is there any prep for the paint on the top of the car

  • @TheBaller97 I prep it just like there wasn't going to be a vynal top at all.. Pete

  • wha kinda vinyl did he use..email me please..

  • @dougthathughere The vinyl used for a hardtop is designed for just that purpose, it's water proof. You can order a top from your local upholstry shop that will fit your car. Pete

  • I hate vinyl tops...

  • @Thirdgen83: Vinyl tops in their various iterations, whether (a) landau, (b) carriage, or (c) simple full or partially padded full-coverage treatments are historically correct design options; they hearken back to the cabriolet, convertible and sedan landau design elements of their antecedents, namely horse drawn carriages, and prior to that ancient eg. Roman palanquins: now do you GET IT. Most ill-informed vinyl top haters have no clue as to the design legacy that such automotive roofs convey.

  • @CarCriticAssessor And why would I give a shit about any of that? I don't like them...PERIOD.

  • @Thirdgen83: Frankly, then what would explain your presence on this instructional VID; perhaps, you might well opt out and pick another. Good luck with that pursuit. Peace out.

  • @CarCriticAssessor Or, I might just continue watching whatever vids I WANT to watch. What a concept...

  • I put a new top on a cutlass I owned , never had done it before but it turned out great. lol , didnt know about spraying the glue so I put it on with a very fine roller. used a blow dryer on the edges and took my time'' a lot of time'' trimming it out. but really looked good once it was finished.

  • @bigalwillis Thats what it's all about. Doing it yourself. I actually didn the sae thing to my 66 GTO I had, used some throw away brushs and went with it. Turned out GREAT.

  • Interesting series Pete!

  • I always wondered how they put a vynil top on at the factory. They had to have had a much faster method. I had my Caddy done and it took a lot longer than these guys.

  • I was going to remove the vinyl top on my car, but after watching this I'm not so sure. I have a new found appreciation for the work that went into it (plus it's a good place to put my tools without damaging the bodywork :P

  • Hey Buddy when are the rest of the parts to this being posted???

    Its seriously interesting ..

  • should of used dap landau top and headliner glue its the best. 3M will brake down and release over time

  • @socalmerc We've used 3M for close to 20 years and never have had a problem. We do 5 limos every month

  • @TWMFARMS As far as "Contact Cement" goes, 3m is one of the best. There is a brand you can buy at Lowes that's pretty good and saves you money, don't forget, some of the products you pay more for is because of the NAME!

  • @diyautoschool DAP--Welwood--At Lowes--Good Stuff--Inexpensive as well.

  • Wow, who ever knew! I thought they where only good at landscaping. Thanks Pete love the new channel.

  • wish we was that smart on my friends 68 Camaro. went threw 6 cans of 3M glue. I never thought i was going to get the wrencles out of the sail panel.Very hard to do the first time but came out good.man that top is slick. i wonder if my friend Pete sanded and buffed the top to. To me the vinal top breaks it up. GTS is a looking good.

  • how do you keep the flys and what not out of the glue?
