The loudness wouldn't make any significant difference on the file size, what you need to do is use a different file format, I always use MP3 format at 56 Kbps, 22500 Hz, Stereo. You should be able to make good quality hinge sounds from 1-12 secs and stay under the 100 KB max using this format. In order to make the sounds louder, you need to compress them or amplify them. This is hard to explain if you don't know about Audio, try searching for tutorials about compressing and limiting on Audacity.

I downloaded Audacity & the lame Mp3 encoder, but how do I use them together??? I tried to import something from windows media player & couldn't, so that's why I'm asking.
The lame mp3 encoder is only for exporting files (allows to save as mp3). I'm not sure about WMA compatibility with Audacity but I don't think it has anything to do with the lame mp3 encoder since it's only for mp3 support, WMA is a completely different codec. try using mp3 format instead of WMA, MP3s have better quality anyway.

There's no way to put custom ringtones on the sidekick unless you have a developer key installed on your phone. You'll have to be happy with custom hinge sounds until people go on strike and stop buying ringtones from the catalog (Not Going To Happen).
In order to get a developer key you need to either build your own sidekick application or be referred to Danger by another Danger developer.
Your theme.txt file is your theme's folder where all the theme's pictures are in, Watch some of my other videos if you need more help with making themes. This video is for making hinge sounds and you will have problem understanding it if you don't know how to make themes.
I can't think of any reason why that would happen, make sure you don't have it open more than once. If it still gives you problems try copying it to another folder then once is edited and saved, replace it.
now it says i cant save in the theme's folder cauz its compressed, so what i did was save it in another folder then copy it to the theme's folder, is that ok????
oh that's why is not working, you have to uncompress the folder before you edit it anything in it, use Winrar or Winzip to extract the folder then you can make the changes you want on the extracted folder.
go to the danger developer website, that's the only way you can get one, is not easy,you have to prove to them that you're interested in developing applications for the sidekick. Unless you are good with java or know someone who is already a developer who is willing to refer you, you're out of luck.

you need to make it:
right click on the root of your Sdcard (where the folder DCIM is) and select New > Folder and name it "Themes".

Just follow the steps, if you didn't download the LameMp3encoder correctly you'll know because you wont be able to export as mp3.

First go to Edit... Preferences... (Ctrl+P)
then under the "File Formats" tab click on Find Library and find "lame_enc.dll".
then you go to Export As MP3...
As long as you don't change the location for the "lame_enc.dll" file, you should only have to do this once.

other than that I believe I've covered everything on the video, make sure your strings match your files and your files do not exceed 100 KB.
