  • Hate to see it die. I retired from there in 2004 after 42 years with GM. Lots of people being hurt. I see where it was torn down a couple months ago. Lots of memories there. I saw soooo much money wasted by GM while I worked there. So much that had nothing to do with the UAW.

I am sure happy I made it to retirement but have no idea what most of those people are going to do. They are stuck with no job and homes that are worthless, mine has been on the market for over 4 years.

  • I thought the UAW made it possible for all these people to have jobs? How could this happen? Oh yeah, the plants were not profitable, so bye bye jobs. Sad that demands of give and take were so much to ask of the UAW that they would rather have no jobs than a good paying job with reasonable benefits. Change with the times or get left behind. Sorry for these people. It was all they knew. Unions like the UAW had there place, but that was long ago.

  • no one said, life is fair...how true that is.

  • awww my first car is a pontiac...

  • i feel like knife went through mee.

  • I am infuriated! WHy . . . does it hurt so much?

  • I am infuriated!

  • This just makes me sad! Its the reason why I had to leave my home state of Michigan!

  • God bless their families... This is horrible

  • it hurts

  • What is a true american car? Chevrolet/Ford/Dodge now import the majority of their parts (frames, doors, glass, engines, seats, transmissions, electronics, etc) and pre assembled component sets. The US had become nothing more than a final assembly plant for a portion of the cars they sell. Is buying a Honda/Subaru/Toyota/Nissan Un-American when it is made in Ohio, Kentucky, Texas, Alabama, California, Tennessee, or Georgia.....???? Is it the average Americans fault that Detroit builds junk????????

  • @dieselplow I agree entirely. I own two cars, a 1996 Fleetwood Brougham (weekend cruiser), which was made in MEXICO, and a 1997 Corolla LE (daily driver), which was made in CALIFORNIA. Although I only drive the Caddy on the weekends, (less than 70k on the clock), it's already cost me a fortune in repairs, not to mention its big V8 is a gas hog... The Toyota has 198k and the only repair I've ever had was a new muffler. I love my country, but it's cars have gone to hell.

  • @TheCadillac500 I gotcha there - I was raised around American cars - Ford and GM. My parents do not even drive US branded cars anymore - they both have Honda's that where built in the US. I have owned one US branded car - A 2002 Ford Truck. This truck had every problem possible. Windows would roll down on their own, Stereo never worked right, Transmission was replaced twice under warranty, and recall after recall. It was ridiculous - I only had that truck 2 years and got rid of it.

  • My 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Duramax was assembled in Pontiac, thank you guys I love my truck. I absolutely hate that yall have to go through this. God Bless you American workers.

  • This really makes me sad. My first car was a Pontiac Fiero, and my last new car was a Pontiac Solstice. I buy Ford now. I blame not the workers, but the UAW. I wish the union workers could see what the UAW has done to their jobs, and the company they work for. If the UAW really cared about their workers, they would LOWER THEIR DUES, and not spend money buying commercial airlines and building multi-million dollar golf courses. Shame on you UAW, look what you've done. Look what you've done...

  • Goodbye Pontiac

    Hello Samsung Motor Co. LTD

  • I DESPISE BILDERBERG!! they destroy anything that is good

Killed my Dream job!...(fuck u obama)

  • Now let this be a grim lesson to all you arrogant people around the world..Never think you're better than anyone else or go around taking things for granted and saying that certain things aren't expendable..Things in life can disappear in a flash..e.g. natural disasters, economic meltdowns etc. Just thank God for everyday you're alive and live life in a humble, peaceful, non-judgemental, non-arrogant way.

  • really sad. people that keep buying imports are selling us short of a future. more jobless people

  • @ghtowagon

You mean "American" like the Metro? The Prism? The Le Mans? Vibe? Aveo? LOLOLOLOL GM is most famous for taking FOREIGN cars and putting American nameplates on them. They deserve what they're going through now for what they've done.

Good luck getting that $49 billion of taxpayer money back. These snake oil fuckers will never pay it.
