Yes a computer can help a child to learn, but giving proprietary internet access to millions of adults to be is an incredidle marketing advantage.

Let's get real, those children are hungry and they need health support. But who cares?

Children in the developing world don't have pens or paper - the laptop is to help them learn not to play stupid games on. You can't compare what a child in the developing nations needs with a child in developed countries.

It depends on the age and what they use them for. I agree that an 7 or 8 year olds probably shouldn't have laptops. By by certain ages, students can have certain laptops. I have one, because my parents are computer people and they lke us to learn all about the world of technology.
