Ive heard so many covers and none can capture the tone or poise of Jimi hendrix to be honest with you he isnt my favorite guitar player but its obvious that he was the best guitar player,Way ahead of his time. If anyone had that magic in their fingers.. i could understand why you would never want to go to another instrument or give up music. Thats a fact.

Jimi didn't usually stay in a pentatonic of any scale exclusively.

A Pentatonic already is major or minor or something else, isn't it? I'ts just a name for any scale where you only play 5 of the notes (in minor you drop the 2 and 6, in major drop the 4 and the 7). I *guess* (haven't looked at it) he's in Bb major - mostly using Pentatonic, sometimes using the 4 and 7 and sometimes using other notes - including notes from Bb minor...?

@Sebbb5 i'm not up to date on what's flat and all that with the scales. i do know though that for the most part he's using the B minor Pentatonic. when he does the more "down home" feel good licks i.e. from 0:20 - 0:40 he's using the major besides when he really goes to town on that bend he's reaching one fret up and bending in the minor pentatonic.

i really only look at scales at shape

b minor pentatonic and the Ab minor pentatonic (which is the same as B maj)

I hear nothing particularly special or desirable about the tone here, and there are any number of Jimi's live performances (indeed almost all of them) that blow this completely out of the water. Listen for example to the "Electric Church" Red house. It's like the difference between shooting a bullet and throwing it.
