This isn't a bad top 10, Ristar, Sonic 2, Phantasy Star 4, and Bare Knuckle 2 (Streets of Rage 2) are all good games, along with RKA. This list is devoid of sports titles, which is cool, but Toe Jam and Earl isn't exactly in my top 10. EWJ 2, Sparkster, Dynamite Headdy, Alien Soldier, Alisia Dragoon are all games worthy of a top 10 list.

The best is yet to come! Pier solar (also called tavern rpg) is ready for shipping! its the first ever 64meg cartridge made for the megadrive/genesis system .. only the japanese versions are left to order , but it works for any region. NTSC/Pal or whatever, it works on the megadrive alone but to see it as its best you have to use the 32x and mega cd (for best sound) .

I only have the md but still ordered 2 copies.

I also read on theire page about a new commodore 64 game newcomer! :)

Yep Sonic had to be No1 and I agree with Sonic 2 being the one picked.

Sonic 1 started it all and is a great game but Sonic 2 perfected the game controls and added more speed.

@kilikman As an old Toejam and Earl fan, I feel that I need to protect my heroes here.

First of all: The music. Its just groovy, well-written and perfect for the game.

Second: The story. Corny, sure, but also this perfect for the game. The story left room for the third and most important part: The humor! Their way of interracting, their "powerups" in the form of presents, the secret island with a pool, lemonade stand and dancing girls. Simply perfect!

But that's just my oppinion :)

BTW yes ristar saw its release and worldwide being jap and other versions somewhat different. And i have the original ristar cart.. (Gunstar heroes one too, and RKA, and SOFII.... :P)

Sega always had the superior gaming engine, the Master System outshone the NES on graphics, the NES had way more games though.. it's always been the case, Nintendo never really had a brilliant gaming engine to produce amazing graphics.. good but not as good as Sega's, i feel anyway

Dude the Genesis came out in 1989 while the SNES came out in 1991. Yes the SNES has better graphics (higher color pallet) but its newer so they should be! The Genesis was an amazing machine and brought in the 16-bit era to NA. Hardly shitty graphics for the time.

it's not all about the color count, it could show more sprites and allowed for better animation (and without slowdown). snes effects like rotation were possible through programming or on sega cd.

Exactly, Sega CD could do it, but alone the Genesis/Mega Drive couldn't do it. Besides, all the technical talk aside, the SNES just had better graphics. I'm not saying the SNES was better or worse than the Meger Drive/Genesis, just that it produced better graphics, because it did and only Mega Drive fan boys would say otherwise.

As I said, it could if the programmers were competent enough. Check out any Treasure game, Adventures of Batman and Robin, Fantasy Zone, Red Zone, Ranger X... And I forgot to mention that the MD also has a significantly higher resolution.

I'm no fanboy, grew up with both consoles and have played like 90% of each game library. The SNES only real advantage is the color count. Mode 7 looks awful nowadays, and scaling looks extremely pixelated in Contra or TMNT IV.

Colour count aside, the graphics are mostly down to the artist.

Think about this, Who would say the Master system is much better than the Nes? probably no one but the Master system was capable of more colours and had a slightly faster processor than the Nes too.
