Whoever Ryu was.. wow... Uppercut, EX Upper Cut, Upper Cut. If you plan I doing a combo in the Zief, the first has to connect. You can't just go through the motions of your combos all the time. I use Zangief because people don't understand technique they only understand "Doing moves"
Dont say that because all the people who suck at SF and are suddenly able to win on SF4 with Gief for some strange strange reason will thumbs down you as they would like to think that they have something to do with the wins rather than the game being broken.
I wouldn't say that the the game is broken, but there are some balance issues in the game. I'd be more inclined to agree with you if this match wasn't Zangief vs. *RYU*. Ryu is pretty well regarded as the 2nd best character in the game.

Of course its going to look this good on the PC, if not it might look slightly a bit better. And If you give game makers time to work on a pc version it would look even better. For example gears of war for the pc vs the xbox.

I've been a Giefer since SF2 on the SNES. Pleased to say he is very strong in SFIV. He has counters to pretty much every charachters moveset if you look for em. A lot of people say Blanka is a tough match for Gief, but some well placed focus attacks and lariats pretty much nullify Blankas arsenal. Don't really even need to get a grab on him. Ryu is also strong in 4. I think Sagat is a bit over rated, but I'll save that discussion for a Sagat vid :)
I have trouble against Blanka players when I play as Zangief. Well good Blanka players anyways, I've yet to see a bad one lol.
Some how they always seem to get their backstep rolling attack to hit me even if im blocking the right way. They position themselves so when they fall, they are practically right on top of me and I cant even block it!!!
Blanka is a strong defensive charachter, the best way to defeat him is to force him to come out of his corner and try to attack you. Just sit back and wait for him to start rolling at you. The forwards roll can be batted away with a lariat. If he starts doing upwards attacks, charge an ex attack. You will either hit him with it or land right behind him, ready for an SPD. Ex attack is also good vs electricity. It absorbs the first shock, then Zangief moves back slightly escaping damage, then POW!
When you have Blanka on the floor I usually attack with an ex. banishing flat (green fist) as he gets up. If he blocks he will often try to shock you, so I immediately charge up an ex attack, once that hits it's piledriver time.
zangief is super strong already and his throws are ridiculously strong for how easy they are to pull off... i use balrog and rape 99% of ryus/kens and do well vs zangief but when i do my ultra that little spin zangief does with the triple punch button or w/e cancels it...
that spin move where he holds out his arms? it cancels just about everything, its ridiculously stupid... (console version im talking of)
plus his throws seemingly stop all attacks incoming at him from any angle, and then goes through with the throw. Zangief seems to either be glitchy or be janked this time around.

there are some tactics to zangief like the guy who were playing this guy, but not to some other cats, like the ones who just spinning lairat in place all the damn time while you trying to recover. but there's a way around everything.

Um, E6C6E6. Zangief is a top tiered character and is considered one of the hardest characters to play. Also, Vega is the second worst tiered character in the game, with Dan being the first, so enjoy 'dominating' online with your terrible character.

Yeah because quarter circle forward, quarter circle back and right, down, bottom right is really hard to accomplish compared to full circle.
Gief may be a bit overpowered but he's hard to play, hard to get timing right and hard to learn. I'd like to see you try and pull off a Gief against anyone half decent.
I prefer Bison against Gief, quick ins, quick outs and nice power/speed balance to escape the grabs--plus slide into jumping hard/standing hard has a quick recovery and does a shitload of damage.
there is not a such a thing like "terrible character" in this game, you can be good with Vega if you want, and Dan ca be a GOD, trust me you don't want to mess up with a good Dan, lol
I'm not saying that a low tiered character can't be good. I'm saying that if you play a low tiered character anyone who is half decent will be able to beat you, simply because they have the advantage. The only people you will fool with Vega and Dan are casual scrubs who stand there trying to Hadoken with ken and keep doing Solar Plex Strikes.
Ten you havent seen the shiryoken priority xd. It ruins zangief quite well. Also the air attacks ruins zangief because to go trough he needs to jump mostly but ten if Ken or Ryu jumps also they can put Zangief back at place. Tose grabs are nice if u succeeding in getting close and that ure oponent isnt using shiryoken to much.
The standard banishing flat isn't that great, gets you across the screen and can destroy fireballs with either perfect timing (but mostly luck). The ex version is a beast though, it's pretty much the only ex move I use with zangief. Gets you right up close, goes through a fireball, does 2 hits, causes a knockdown, and if blocked - SPD HOOOOOOOO!
I never understood why Zangief was always such a low-tier character in SF2. Thankfully, they re-balanced the characters in HD Remix, and it looks like they did the same in 4.

Zangief is high tier in SF4. His match ups with Ryu predict that he will win five matches out of ten.
As you can see in this video, Banishing Flat (Green Glove) leads to some very nasty Spinning Pile Driver set ups, so if someone knows what they're doing with him, they have more than a chance against any "decent player" using Ryu.
i find watching players who are so so, u get a lot better at your own thing. i learned a very important thing that maybe a lot of people dont do. look the guy is down, dont be frightened, come closer, block if u see the hit there, block low wtv.....but always attack thats why i use Akuma

LP and MP Shoryukens don't have the anti-air properties they used to. Also, the fist didn't connect, and if SF4 is like SF3, then only the fist is invincible during Shoryuken.

I hope they add Akuma in the console version. Knowing Street Fighter, they'll probably go through 2 or 3 upgrades adding the characters left out, tweaking the stages and moves, and making the game full of own. Can't wait till I get a chance to play it.

there are some tactics to zangief like the guy who were playing this guy, but not to some other cats, like the ones who just spinning lairat in place all the damn time while you trying to recover. but there's a way around everything.

This dude is so wrong, Dan is a god and vega is very complete character, he kept all his moves, his Ultra is fucking surprising that can be annoying sometimes lol I bet if you are a master with vega you can beat any Zangief, this is a fighting game not a fucking dragon ball episode!!!. Um, E6C6E6. Zangief is a top tiered character and is considered one of the hardest characters to play. Also, Vega is the second worst tiered character in the game, with Dan being the first, so enjoy 'dominating' online with your terrible character.

Yeah because quarter circle forward, quarter circle back and right, down, bottom right is really hard to accomplish compared to full circle.
Gief may be a bit overpowered but he's hard to play, hard to get timing right and hard to learn. I'd like to see you try and pull off a Gief against anyone half decent.

I prefer Bison against Gief, quick ins, quick outs and nice power/speed balance to escape the grabs--plus slide into jumping hard/standing hard has a quick recovery and does a shitload of damage.

I'm not saying that a low tiered character can't be good. I'm saying that if you play a low tiered character anyone who is half decent will be able to beat you, simply because they have the advantage. The only people you will fool with Vega and Dan are casual scrubs who stand there trying to Hadoken with ken and keep doing Solar Plex Strikes.

Ten you havent seen the shiryoken priority xd. It ruins zangief quite well. Also the air attacks ruins zangief because to go trough he needs to jump mostly but ten if Ken or Ryu jumps also they can put Zangief back at place. Tose grabs are nice if u succeeding in getting close and that ure oponent isnt using shiryoken to much.

The standard banishing flat isn't that great, gets you across the screen and can destroy fireballs with either perfect timing (but mostly luck). The ex version is a beast though, it's pretty much the only ex move I use with zangief. Gets you right up close, goes through a fireball, does 2 hits, causes a knockdown, and if blocked - SPD HOOOOOOOO!

I never understood why Zangief was always such a low-tier character in SF2. Thankfully, they re-balanced the characters in HD Remix, and it looks like they did the same in 4.

Zangief is high tier in SF4. His match ups with Ryu predict that he will win five matches out of ten.
As you can see in this video, Banishing Flat (Green Glove) leads to some very nasty Spinning Pile Driver set ups, so if someone knows what they're doing with him, they have more than a chance against any "decent player" using Ryu.

i find watching players who are so so, u get a lot better at your own thing. i learned a very important thing that maybe a lot of people dont do. look the guy is down, dont be frightened, come closer, block if u see the hit there, block low wtv.....but always attack thats why i use Akuma

LP and MP Shoryukens don't have the anti-air properties they used to. Also, the fist didn't connect, and if SF4 is like SF3, then only the fist is invincible during Shoryuken.

I hope they add Akuma in the console version. Knowing Street Fighter, they'll probably go through 2 or 3 upgrades adding the characters left out, tweaking the stages and moves, and making the game full of own. Can't wait till I get a chance to play it.
