  • Peg Bundy in green

  • I didn't realise that bin bags came in a variety of colours, the blue one is most fetching.

  • The drumming is absolutely superb...deep, powerful and resonant

  • Sheen Doran is an AMAZING dancer

  • AHAHAHA THE COLOR STHE FUN THAT MUSCIC WAS..I LOVE IT

  • looking forward to the greatest hits album..

  • yummy yummy .

  • HOT.... a bit like Spice Girls but pretty and without the "only if she they were last women on Earth and there were no more monkeys" factor.

  • The 80s was a good decade......Bette Midler and Cyndi Lauper used to wear bin liners as dresses!

  • lol the one in green looks like Peggy Bundy from Married with Children :D

  • the best of 80 years, saw them in France in 1985 so good

  • The meaning of this ditty is somewhat unfathomable to me.

  • ...LOL..it took me forever to realize Steve's comment at the end about the "multi-colored bin liners'...TRASH BAGS....dah!...us stooopid americans...heh heh...

  • Still got the 12" version in a box in the loft.

  • 1:30 -1:42 ... Oh my god, that was beautiful.

  • Everyone of them a looker...

  • @james418g Spice Girls without the "only if I had to" factor.

  • OmG! I dance just like that!!!

  • The group were called Toto Coelo but were re-named Total Coelo in the embarrassing joke of a country that is the USA. Where else could this lot be confused with the band Toto?!!!

  • @ORANGES99 indeed, they are a bit thick over there

  • Tremendous track! How come the lion which roars on this track never actually featured on the video, or was that because of the threat of cruelty to him?

  • Watch the choreography at 1:30. GREAT!

  • @BabyJaneHudson Fantastic. Beautiful. Natural.

  • @BabyJaneHudson TOTALLY CORRECT

  • Maybe it's my age, but I find these girls a lot sexcier than the slapper girl groups we get these days!!

  • @EssexBoy696969 These are so natural.

  • The girls who made coloured bin liners the fashion item of the early 80's. A great song - perhaps they should reform for one of these 80's revival concerts.

  • Nice song, not as good as Toto, but good!!! odd song indeed!!

  • nice song, but i eat fuckin vegetables okayyy!! yummmmy

  • One of my favorite 80's song!!!

  • jodtastic!

  • damn good performance!

  • Lindsey Danvers still looks Fantastic!!!!!!

  • Thanks for sharing. I was 10 when i first watched this on TOTP in '82, brings back some memories. Hard to imagine these girls will be in there 50s now, where all that time gone..

  • ever notice how the Spice Girls looked so similar 15 years later??...

  • I believe they were knighted, were they not? They are now "Sir Toto Coelo."

  • Watch the fun choreography @ 1:29

  • woo i love this song!! i love the red haired one.

  • She looks like Peg from Al Bundy in Married with children !!

  • This song is too damn catchy. Never heard it on the radio, only saw it on MTV.

  • Which one is Bob Holness's daughter?

  • Ros...the one in the blue and black dress

  • Nice. I watched this like 4 or 5 times in a row<---"It's incredible"

  • Time Machine!! Cheers

  • it was 1982, I Eat Cannibals.....Not Legal.

    XDXD

  • Top cheese!

Loving the plastic bag outfits too....... Classy!

  • i used to hate this song, but now i love it,

  • amazing song =]

  • 27 yrs ago its unbelievable.

  • Don't you just love the 80's!!!!!

  • This song is sooo fucking cool!!!!!!! and they sound great!!!!!!

  • This > Girls Aloud entire output squared

  • indubidely...

  • 80's pussycat dolls,eh?

  • 當年我的至愛!

  • Sheen Doran is my singing teacher she is amazing

  • This has got to be the greatest song EVER to come out of the UK! The Beatles only WISH they were Toto Coelo!

  • I quite like this

  • good fun...music aint got a fun side anymore!

  • Hey Look it's the Spice Girls!

  • Weird but today I found myself singing this song while riding on my bike to work...and I haven't heard it for...gee...perhaps 20 years or so :o)

    Don't even know why I suddently remembered it...but it's a cool tune

  • Notice how many bands, singers and TV presenters of the time used those skinny, pencil-microphones, which were very trendy back then. It was probably part of the 'we're out of the tired old flared-trouser 70's and into the cool, modern 80's mentality.

  • Im sure one of the girls was the daughter of a tory government minister

  • One of them was Ros Holness - the daughter of Bob Holness from Blockbusters!! :-D

  • No - but Lindsey Danvers's father was in Yes Minister - I dated Lacey for 9 years in the 80's and lived at Lindsey's parents restuarant for a while in Putney.

  • haha this is a funny song. used to love when i was like seven years old. still love it

  • A Barry Blue song, quite catchy, but annoying too.

  • Its the Pussycat dolls mums.

  • @kookietur I would have still "Done them" all.

  • I remember when I thought this kind of crap was good music

  • We might be doing this as one of the songs in my youth theatre production of "Robinson Crusoe And The Pirates" for the Cannibal scene :D I'm going to be Juanita

  • Loved it! Brings back memories of me in a dingy nightclub in Cleethorpes, rolling about laughing at this guy doing a sort of belly dance thing - ahhh the good old days.

They could have been much bigger and successful a few years later (instead of the vile Spice Girls) - all that girl power trash - urrgghh!!

  • Maybe if they had arrived a few years earlier. Punk (Toyah, The Clash) was being replaced by the New Romantics. Toto Coelo seemed to be a cross between Toyah, Sheena Easton and the dancers from the Kenny Everitt video show.

  • i eat cannabis

  • haha do it

  • Oh Yes! Sheen, Lacey, Ros, Anita & Lindsay.

Five of the most underrated performers of the 80's. I have got both of their CD compilations. Including the one aimed at the american market where they were called 'Total Coelo' because of a copyright wrangle. All in all, they really knew how to do great songs.

Still love them today. Thanks Coelo.

  • Is it possible to NOT love them..?

  • i was a blue light disco dancer when I was 12 and I used to love to dance to this, i still drive to it actually, i love Draculas Tango too

  • The great Bob Holness's daughter was in this band - not an urban myth (unlike the Baker Street saxophone solo).

  • I love toto coelo!!

    but...

    god.

    the hair...

  • I have this 45! Haven't heard it in years! Spice Girls for runner.

  • lol the announcer's comments at the end... The Brits are too funny :) ...

  • You could only get away with this in the 80's What fabulous decade. This was one of my all time faves along with Japanese Boy by Aneka!! Tunes!!

  • I AGREE,STUNNING!

  • Agreed - pure pop music in the best way!

  • dis is such a good a gd song

  • Haha!! That's a long time ago!!

    Still a nice song.

  • That's my cousin Anita in the Red bin liner!! A blast from the past!

    Gaz

  • Err.....I know she is.

Won't comment on the last bit

  • you beautiful son of a bitch, I like your style

  • thats cool! =D

  • I didn't know Peggy Bundy was in a pop band!!! wow!

  • lol i always fort this was sung by guys!

but it looks sexy on you tube! :P!!!!!!!!!

  • bwahahaha! we from philippines love this song during 80s, hahaha

  • OMG i remember my mum had this song on a 45 vinyl & dance to it when she played her vinyls every sunday. i was 10 years old then..wow that brought back memorys...embarressing ones for a 10 year old.....lol.

  • LOOOOOVES IT!!! Six years old round my best friend´s house, fiddling with her mother´s lps...

  • hey sookie yes i have that very video you are looking for haysi fantaysi john wayne is big leggy check it out

  • Thank You Tradings and GWM4GWM you guys rock. I havent seen that video since 1984 so my memory of it was a little off but you guys came to the rescue. Thanks Again!! And Thank You Tradings for having that vid on here for me to feeling like I was 13 again. :)

  • Love this song and video...

By chance anyone remember a video from early 80s that had a character dress in a black suit with strands of cloth hanging off the sut, top hat and long dredlocks. In the video he walks around in a cowboy western setting and he Unlocks a girl from a cage, dressed like he is. I know its a longshot. And no its not a porno LOL... its a music video.

  • sookie2007, I believe you're thinking of 'John Wayne Is A Big Leggy' by HAYSI FANTAYZEE...

  • I DO remember "Mucho Macho"! Wow, talk about a time warp.

  • A good one hit wonder from more than a quarter of century ago.I just turned 21 two weeks ago,and I thank God I was not around for most of the 1980's.But hey the music is great and fun to listen to!

  • ...no really, you would've loved being there during this time. I was 18 when this hit and it was a blast. They had another hit called "Dracula's Tango" that is equally as fun! Campy!

  • ha ha girls aloud's mums

  • The two girls in front (when the camera is in the audience) wearing heart Dealie-Bobbers totally date the video. :)

  • yeah, because it's completely timeless in every single other respect XD

  • I was a DJ in college (and after), and had the 12" single of this tune. There was a really cool 'dub' version that we used to play at fraternity/soroority/dorm parties! :)

I've still got the 12" single today.

  • Hey I remember that version

Could you take a video of it playing on a real record player

Sounds crazy, but actually watching a piece of vinyl with groves brings a bit of nostalgia that you just can't get anywhere else

I have noticed a rise in people doing this especially on song versions that never had a video made. Some of the 12" single versions were only made and released on that format. If you heard it that special version on the radio it was a real record.

    please PLEASE pleeeEEEeeese

  • I still have my 12" single too...remember "Mucho Macho" on the flipside?

  • I was mega-impressed to discover that Lacey Bond, an actress I know, is actually the blonde one in blue in this vid.

  • I was well impressed to discover that Lacey Bond, an actress I know, is actually the blonde one in blue in this vid.

  • I love this song! Their greatest hits cd is worth picking up! Long live the 80's!

    -A Wave-O

  • Anybody know who the one in yellow is?

  • Lindsey Danvers.

  • Thanks

  • The girl in the red, Anita Mahadervan, was a dancer with Zoo on totp only months earlier. You can see her on Kool & The Gang's Get Down On It performance on the Xmas Eve totp 1981

  • reat !! and on the 12th of August performance on totp they all wore black bin liners along with presenter John Peel !!

  • Forget the Soice girls this is super!!!!!!!!

  • funzie!!

  • there like de 80s vesion of pussycatdolls lol

  • really thats your sister? fantastic

  • That would be my Sister, Ros...the one in black.

  • im not sure to be honest i think it might be the blonde one enyone else got a clue i think one of the girls has commented on one of the other video prehaps she can tell us ?

  • Ok, Quite good choreography, and a reasonably quirky tune, but the question is which one of these is Bob Holness's Daughter?

  • Give me these girls over the Spice Girls any day of the week,

  • <3!!!!!

  • Hell yeah
