  • Too slow. Lost my interest. I'll stick to liking "love in the first degree"

    Thumbs up for Bananarama! :)

  • i prefer steps version to this, steps more up beat and moderner for dancing to. glad steps are back together

  • @guitarplayerforu

    Me too.

Although i do like bananrama too.

  • Steps

  • got to wash the dishes soon but nice song hey

  • nice .. :)

  • I didn't know they sang this song originally lol.

  • Sounds like Abba.

  • Opps I mean

    Are they Lesbian's*

  • @Abi4scotty They was just pretending in the video ;-)

  • Where the Lesbians? just wondering

  • I've uploaded a high quality version of this video - check my channel.

  • even tho i like steps this version is and will be the best

  • It made them money - good as that lazy &u%$ Ridgeley don't bring nothing in !

They should have left it there as they look desperate carrying on now.

  • I love this version and its the original and the best!! But I also like Steps version too. All round a success!!! :)

  • I always had a crush on the brunette something FIERCE-who cares if she can't sing.

  • I didn't even know Bananarama originally did this

  • @Kaynas1988, same here.

  • @JosephKuby I thought that steps version was the original, well I guess I was wrong

  • @Kaynas1988, that makes the two of us. :-)

  • @JosephKuby :)

  • Well of course the Steps version is a cover. Nobody dances and looks so happy and chirpy while singing a song about an impending breakup. Even though the Steps version was the one I heard first, I knew it had to be a cover (also because we're talking about Steps, a group that covers songs into a dance-version). For this particular song, I really don't think the excuse "I like the Steps version better because I'm used to it" works. The Steps version completely takes away the meaning of the song.

  • I only recently found out the Steps version was a cover. If I'm honest, I prefer their version, but that may be because it's what I'm used to hearing.

  • @henrycaville

I know it was, that's what I said in my comment. I still think Steps version was better tho.

  • They look like Lesbians here but the song is good

  • Much lover the Steps Version although this one is the original

  • Damn, Wish I was born in Europe. They know how to live. Fabulous song! I had never heard it before. It was not released in USA.

  • Had to hit the stop button half way through, couldn't listen to any more. It was actually written by Pete Waterman and had the banana's to sing it. Steps did a much better job of this song, which in my mind is one of there classics. Nothing wrong with bananarama, i used to like their music but this song was not for them. Steps version any day.

  • @DJPaulgee1 ye - but - pete waterman recreated this song for steps - just with a more modern, up to date backing track! still good ol' petes production unit!! lol

  • Nvr realised tht Banarama originally sug this :D

  • This song sounds like a song ABBA would have recorded during the later years of their career..like Under Attack or Two For The Price Of One... around that time...

  • @hfxmusicman

Exactly! I have just listened to the first few seconds and thought: ABBA??? Same sound, same gimmicks. Perfect! When was this made? I think some years after ABBA...? I love the 80s SIGHHH

  • really like it, but somehow the steps version is far better - even though it is sort of embarrassing to say so :)

  • yes well its been said before that this was an attempt by Pete Waterman to get them back on top and it is very ironic because it was the "last thing on their mind". They were not for this genre at all. This and "Movin On" were tracks later recorded by Steps

  • love them, but they look like eurythmics in this lol

  • @destinayglitternova I'm pretty sure Siobhan is/was married to what's his name Stewart, so that would make some kind of sense.

  • wow i so did not know they did the origional! brill pop song!! fair play!

  • I've never heard this one before either. Like others have stated this really does sound like Abba.

  • 'Last Thing On My Mind' is definately sang in ABBA's style at the very start there is a bit of ABBA's 'I Have A Dream' backing track.

  • The original is always better.

  • loved the steps version and like this too everyone elses is just crap as for the steps haters selling 15 million records they couldnt be all that bad

  • @rassbeary I agree. There was nothing wrong with Steps. They were talented and entertaining.

  • @purecorkboy06 just wished they had been bigger over here if it wasnt for youtube I would have never heard of them

  • @rassbeary If you're talkin' about---> wish they had been bigger in USA, there is a lot we miss out on my friend! A lot! Europeans have got it goin' on.

  • @BlogShag Im beging to find that out and couldnt agree with you more

  • ok im prepared to be crucified ehre but i prefer steps version of this!!!"!

  • I first came across this song via STEP's release. I thought this is supposed to be a sad song, but STEP interprete it differently. They sang it was like they were having much fun. I certainly like this version better. Thanks for sharing.

  • any one who thinks steps version is better is a mug, fuck there bland trained voices, steps were a joke.

the rams wrote this and its their song, end off

  • steps destroyed this amazing song, the hnrg 12"mix on the cd single is fab, probably wouldve been a hit for the girls, if that had been the single mix, steps had a load of amazing PWL songs wasted on them, they were dire, they didnt look like stars/have any star quality!!!

  • I agree with you. Mike and Pete should have released the Hnrg mix as the single mix. But sometimes I think that Mike and Pete we´re a bit too old to know what the best remix was.

  • Great song! I've never heard it before, I just stumbled across it. I like the whole Abba vibe of it.

  • I like the Bananarama version the best.

  • Yeh! I am a big fan of Bananarama but I have to agree the steps version is the best!

  • Never knew they already sung this

  • I pREFer the versION by STEPS

  • @steamyboy69

i agree. no doubt you were a 90s child like me. we were most unfortunate lol.

  • uhmmmmmmm,, the 90's werent that bad (: Compared to today's cRaPpy music insiDe the U.S. top Ten,LOL

  • Keren and Sara made €1m from the Steps version, cos they wrote the original themselves! GO BANANARAMA!! X

  • No they didn't....it was a co-production with S/A/W :-)

  • without the A...

  • Where is ABBA's version?

  • @dacrlit This was not an ABBA song hence no ABBA version. It just sounds as if it is done in the style of ABBA

  • Not bad but Steps version was better.

  • just heard it on corrie lol and being a steps fan it is the the first time i have listenened to this version an yes i knew it exsisted lol

  • kd lang would love this.

  • The arrangement of this song is pure Abba circa early 80s. However much I like Bananarama, Steps released a much better version.

  • I agree. I love Bananarama, but Steps version is so much better. First time I've seen this, and it sounds strange and slow!

  • omg i never knew this was a cover :O lol

steps is better coz it's faster and dancier and just better lol

  • I love Bananarama....but not this one. Steps' cover is better, the production here doesn't sound full enough. Bare.

  • Comment removed

  • Lovin the lesbian-chic look!

  • What's wrong with vile lezzers????

  • theres nothing wrong with lezzers...but vile lezzers...are simply vile...like hardcore ones i mean, stereotypes...just like rancid queens (fairy gays)...not nice. there are some normal behaving gay people out there...we're not all scary butch women and hideously feminine males lol x

  • hahaha yes actually I know a few vile lezzers......

  • Actually, I like this look. I'm not fond of their look for the Drama cd. Sorry, but they look like they've JBF, doing the walk of shame home after spending the night having a really hot 3 way with a Portuguese waiter. Am I the only one who thinks that?

  • oh,you hard man,we may have bad teeth in the uk but its you fat fuckers that eat all the pies

  • Vile lezzers! How rude. What if I said, skanky limeys with bad teeth? Wouldn't that annoy you?

  • It´s one of the few Bananarama videos, where you see them ¨making out ¨ with a guy...well besides from I can´t help it..but it was more like an orgy going on there...

  • love the song and I really do like the steps version now if ABBA would have recorded there version man I miss all three bands

  • Um, are Sara and Keren trying to say something?

    Why are they all lesberado-looking?

I always thought they were a little too chummy anyway, if you know what I mean and I think you do. That's probably why Siobhan left--jealous.

  • Ever heard of acting? Or maybe just style or fashion?

  • Lesberado...that is the best word I have heard in a long time...can I steal it?

    :) x

  • Thanks! And thanks too for all the cool Banana vids you have uploaded over the years. It's been great seeing some videos I haven't been able to see since the '80s. :)

Also, I sure am glad I didn't call Sara snooty! I think she's just a lovely peach of a gal. :)

  • Oh yes she is that's for sure!

..and she is far from snooty x x

  • I've uploaded the Hi NRG mix onto my channel by the way... :)

  • steps version is better but this is also ok

  • it is. after listening to this is no wonder they said in an interview they were unsure about recording this, but theirs is a million times better.

  • I just listened to the original version, which is this one of course, and I have to say that it's better than what Steps came up with.

  • I like the Steps version better!! Sorry guys..

  • Welcome to the "Is Sarah Dallin snooty" thread....

    She ain't....that's for sure

  • did the blonde one try to clone Annie Lennox??

  • 5 stars all the way.

  • First time i have heard the original, i prefer Steps doing it. They dont sound too great singing this tbh

  • Great song *.* A bit of ABBA There! The original concept of this album! This is the only song which remind on ABBA!

    I love this song!

  • English is my second language, What´s the meaning of SNOOTY?. I like Bananarama but the sound of their voices on this song hurts my ears, no wonder why it was a flop in the charts back then.

  • Snooty means, not laid back, miserable and a tinge of arrogant, watch her on top of the pops. spice girls were non snooty, while all saints were very snooty, watch the video from the beginning you will see, up there own bottoms, they were famous for it in the 80's

  • Er...Pete Waterman described them as difficult but it turned out to be rubbish and he just couldn't stand the fact they tried to tell him what to do haha! But never snooty...

  • are you telling me again i don't mean snooty, I DO mean SNOOTY

  • I love there music, but i can't stand the snooty girls, expecially that blonde one, beyond annoying, all the videos she looks snooty.

  • Hahahaha "That Blonde One" is far from snooty...maybe a little shy from what I've seen at their live shows but that is rather sweet :)

  • you think shy, i think snooty, shall we just disagree on that one.

  • she is not snooty, trust me

  • Why should i trust you to say shes not snooty, trust me she IS.

  • I have a musician friend who knows her pretty well and from what he has told me snooty is the last thing she is. Glad to clear the matter up.

  • Coming across a bit patronizing there maxfrasier, i couldn't care less if you were shagging her pet monkey, if i think shes SNOOTY THEN I THINK SHES SNOOTY, IF YOU DONT THEN YOU DON'T, quit correcting peoples views and stop jumping on the I KNOW HER crap---ive met her and i found her stuck up and snooty, have i cleared it up for you.

  • i was only winding you up, calm down !

  • She probably thought you were a bozo....

  • BOZO, what does that mean, i hope its something nice, then i'll be happy, i hate being sad, it makes me a very bad enemy.

  • Yes it's something nice.....wouldn't want you being sad...be happy clappy

  • now your using another silly word, 1st bozo, now clappy, heres another silly word and sentence, you can't fool a fool, if a fool is a fools fool.

  • Strawberry fool???

  • Try again

  • steps version so much better on this one

  • i like the tune is more slow but steps sing it a bitty better

  • omg 2:32 lol!

  • Hi Metal99Raven, what is with 2:32 ?

  • Nice song from 1992. Steps did much better with it in 1998. Thanks for posting though...

  • my first time hearing this song...it's AWESOME!!! I LOVE THE 80's!!!

  • The 90's.

  • Wonderful song and two pretty ladies.

  • yeah, but they look old-fashioned with their hairstyle.

  • Steps version definitely better

  • i agree!

  • ...until nw

sos 4 gt 2 post it in last comment

  • steps version is better!

    ive neva heard the orig...

  • I totally disagree with you. The original is always the best. NO question.

  • The two sound almost identical.

  • That´s their trademark sound, they sing in unison, meaning both sound the same. There used to be a third girl with them, Siobhan Fahey, and she sounded different to this two.

  • I used to think that steps version of this was good; but after hearing this version, my mind has been changed!!!!

  • The brunnet is so beatifull!!! the other looks like a drag queen

  • Could somebody reply this message and say what song is it when it says something like this: "ooh ooh - ooh oh ooh ooh" I can't find that song anywhere. Sorry my horrible language but I'm form Finland.

  • Perhaps the song you are looking for, with the Oooh, Oooh, Oooh is Laura Branigan´s Self Control, tell me if that´s the one. Greetings from Guatemala.

  • How funny! I love Bananarama and now that I have seen this I love them that little bit more!

  • remember the nan's cowrote too.

  • Well 'Nanarama I expect made alot of cash from the Steps version...songwriting pays!

  • STEPS' version is better

  • "MUCH" Better. Although I kinda like the original too!

  • steps 1 is the best i agree but this 1s good 2

  • When I was 14 or whatever...when this came out I didn't understand the video and what it was trying to say...BUT at 29...erm I think I do now...naughty girls!!!

  • Do share your interpretation..... please.

  • I don't know if my interpertation is totally wrong, but when I see this video, I think it is about the love between women. And the last thing on her mind is that her girlfriend would run off with a man.

  • hahaha alright!!! hahaha

  • Excellent single.

  • NIce sophisticated song and video.

Your number one fan Jim H.

  • Both versions are good....and this video is exy hoho

  • This is ok but I definitely prefer the Steps version

  • I think I have to agree.

  • I agree with you! Friends?

  • i love both :p

  • good hit from 1992

  • was this really 15 years ago.............ahhhhhhhhhhh so thats where they all went

  • This is a really good song!!! So sad the lyrics but then again so good!!And the melody is also really catching!! I think that the Steps version is more fun. This is more drama. But when you listen to the words this version is better. The Steps version is nice to play when your back together again with your partner!!!

  • why wasn't this a monster hit.

both of them never looked hotter in this lesbian chic sort of way.

  • Totally ABBA! - Voicing, Harmonies & overall Sound... ;-)

  • Steps rock!!

  • What year was this?? The steps version is much better!!

  • This is the original, its from about 1993 or something like that.

  • Bananarama should work again with Pete Waterman. You´ll see how good they where back then. Movin On was also catchy, but the album "Please Yourself" was not very special....

  • I love this song, I can see why Pete Waterman wanted it for Steps!

  • Wow... this is way better than Steps' version (even though I don't think they can be called stellar singers).

  • Loooove this song. Very Abba-esque. Track down the HI-NRG mix which is totally '80's dance.

Total flop when it was first released but the Steps cover version took it to the top of of the UK charts. Bless.

  • they said keren's living with Andrew Ridgeley in Cronwall, ppl said she's still pretty

  • Keren is still HOT, looks better than ever, I just saw her this summer. She was in Los Angeles for a few days with Sarah, promoting the new "Drama" CD.

  • This is one of my all-time favorite Bananarama track. First time I've seen this video. Nice footage. But I'm used to seeing Bananarama as a trio. Too bad...
