  • Epic!

  • THE best version of Being Boiled bar none!

  • I'm a fan, which made hearing this at the end of Ninja Assassin all the stranger and more wonderful.

  • No one alive could possibly think the other version is better. Frist heard this on the "Holiday 80" ep (remember those???) and it burned off the turntable like a blow torch. The other version is sleep inducing in comparison!

  • I also think this is the best version of this superb song.

  • Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!! I'd never heard all of the other, starker versions of this song until today. Boy was I disappointed. So I searched for this version. Back in 1982, I bought the album on which this version was featured. Funny to think I've always loved a "single" that was never a single. To me, this is much funkier than the actual single version. It's a taste of what Heaven 17 would sound like, with those electronic horns. Again, thank-you!

  • I like the other version. Much more raw compared to this.

  • Zagreb... 1987... Jabuka... Svi, ali svi u slušaonici plješću u ritmu!!!

    Jebeno dobar feeling :)

  • this song has a good techno rythm to it. this would be good in a spy movie or something like that.

  • The real one!

  • @MrVollstrecker

That is what I was about to say. Bookmarked.

  • Great tune . Takes me back ..

  • I guess it depends on which version you heard first, personally I think this is what gritty synth music is all about. I am a sound engineer and I still hate all the 'sound/production polishing' they did after these first albums, mutter -mutter.... But if you think there is a better version, be my guest (s) and let me know.

  • @jacobjac5 i love this version but i have moments when i listen to the slow version, they both have their merits

  • Definitely the best version. The way it builds up from the percussion at the start then the synths kick in about 20 seconds in, they just demand you sit up & pay attention. A beautifully layered track with the hand claps then the horns later.

Though what Phil Oakey was on when he wrote the lyrics I shudder to think.

  • @ascotales

He was on £12 a week, thats why he wanted fame and fortune. -)

  • Quality.

  • Of course if you use search on Youtube you'll find there's more than two versions! But this is still my favourite, it's more polished.

  • best version by far- cracker lp - a classic

  • Martin Galway must have loved this version.Green Beret.

I like love both versions in equal amounts and for different reasons.

    So there.

  • amen. this is the better version!!!!

  • One of my best friends and I call this the porn version of Being Boiled. It ounds like it could be in a porno movie.

Have a great night, a great day tommorrow, a great night tommorrow, a great week, a great month and a great summer! Puerto Rican Love from New York City!

  • @prlad85 i completely agree, i think this version is sooooo dated it does my head in

  • @fuckamericanidiot you said it;)

Have a great night, a great day tommorrow, a great night tommorrow, a great weekend, a great month and a great summer! Puerto Rican Love from New York City!

  • geez i bought this in in 1981, havnt heard it for years

  • qriginal is more powerful, this ist to funky.

  • Thanks for the feedback guys :)

  • One of my best friends and I refer to this version of "Being Boiled" as the porn version of "Being Boiled" it seems as of it could be in a porn movie. Brilliant but insane and pretty serious song as well.

Have a great day, a great night, a great week, a great month, a great winter, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! All the best in 2010 and beyond! Puerto Rican Love from New York City!

  • I just want to add to my previous comment that the surge of synth sounds at 3:34 make this record!

  • This definitely the better version. Phil's voice is at its best here and the music in this one is more intense. Although both versions have good things in them. But the other version is the original, and this almost like them doing a cover of their own song. But I'm so glad they did this version as it rocks.

  • Nowt wrong with covering one's own tracks. Robert Palmer did a far better job of "Bad Case of Loving You" second time round.

  • I agree, as I said, I'm glad they did it. Kraftwerk also did an excellent job of covering their own songs in the early nineties on 'The Mix' album.

  • omg ive been looking for this version for years, thanx for posting xxx

  • The Old Grey Whistle Test live version of this seems to have been taken down - shame, as it showed the Human League in their original incarnation before the chirpy chix arrived.

  • finally! everyone thinks the other version is better this one is soo amzing

  • wow, that beat just made my day

  • The greatest version of all... thank u soooo much!

  • Both versions are great - I prefer this one though. Maybe. :)

  • The Original is always better than the cover, no matter what.

  • AT LAST!!! The proper version of this song! I have all early Human league tracks, they were brilliant.
