Honestly, screaming and growling is not easier or harder, its jsut that you use an asslode of extra air when you do it, so some people find it exhausting, impossible and gods knows what.

However, singing like Roy, like an opera singer or something in that genre, is NOT easy, trust me.

I've been singing in choirs and stuff almost my entire life so I'm very judgmental when in comes to vocals, I will admit that. The fact is, styles like the growling or screaming, or whatever you call it came about because people couldn't actually sing. The history of music is filled with awful singers. Just look at Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, or Macy Grey. I like singers that actually sing.

The difference is that with Black and death metal bands, the vocals aren't the main focus, they add to the intensity of the song. screaming and growling is hard as shit to do; of course not everyone will like it, but you should get over your bias, I have complete respect for conventional singing

@hrtuvchrome Actually , In heavy metal , the guitar itself (Electric) is actually not meant to be played the way it is. When it was first invented it was supposed to cut through all the precussion instruments , and it couldn't so guitaists turned up the volume and got a distorted response , which is now commonplace in various genres of rock and metal , overdrive and distortion imbues tones, creates feedback etc. Screaming, Growling vocals is like overdrive/distortion for the metal voice.

Roy's character (Ariel, who makes a Faustian bargain) is having his mind poisoned by Mephisto (played by Shagrath), and I assume his lying on the floor represents Mephisto's take over of Ariel's mind.
