@1Buttonmasher haha its not, at all. But of course you'll find traces of western culture in the music. U do know that english is a huge language around the world, and we have a couple world wide music sensations who go overseas and sing. So if their music sounds like ours, then its just the influence. Theyre artists in Japan whore completely traditional in their music, but they arent relly JPOP then. Culture is not so much reflected by the music btw!

And I did say japanese music is simliar to western we are agreeing so dont contradict yourself please! My point is that Japanese culture cannot generally be backed by the music alone.

@kekekuku And I think you will find also that you are very wrong in what you said. On the contrary, culture IS reflected in music. Just look at how subcultures react to music. They build their lifestyles around what is conveyed by the music for example Goths and R&B fans. I have studied sociology for over 4 years now so I know the cultural impact of music on the world.
