  • portugal is said to have nice beaches

  • I don't know what you guys are on. Portugal is rich. It's the culture that counts, not money. Portuguese people are human and they know how to love. Americans are rich and they know how to kill. Call me dumb, but Portugal is way better than America for me. (:

  • @BrownIdol There are more poor people per capita in USA than in Portugal.

  • Not just African Country of Europe but all the 3rd World in Europe, Triple Lol.

  • Whats the song?

  • rsian you speak the truth. Where can I get an autographed photo of the late Dr. Salazar?

  • Orgulho Lusitano!

  • musica maravilhosa

  • Portugal and the United States of America were the only two members of NATO to fight against the Reds! Where was the UK, Canada or France? This was a colonial war inspired by communist ideals. Period.

Portugal is now a small, impoverished nation on the merge of bankruptcy.....900 years of sacrifice for this?

  • @rsiano Impoverished? Use better judgment in your word selection, Portugal is anything but impoverished, don't be daft. Stop buying into North American propaganda where everyone sleeps well with full bellies, much poverty exists in North America as well as in Europe.

  • As long Portugal is part of the EU, it is obvious that its economy will balance if properly managed. Nevertheless, Portugal is the 8th country in the EU with the highest unemployment rate and with an external debt of 507,000,000,000 US dollars! Now, is Portugal enriched with natural resources besides cork and wine? What happened to the so-called 4th largest gold reserve in the world? Is it to pay the external debt?

Resoruces: External Debt Management, Central Banking Dept.

  • @rsiano You cant take gold and pay the all at once, you only put gold in the "market" to make money in the EC Bank! it would fuck the european economy if Portugal would use his gold like that! note:im Portuguese.

  • @brandaoz Apparently, Portugal will wind up 'devoured' economically as well politically by foreigners via the globalization trend put into place. The "Treaty of Lisbon" basically nailed Portugal to the cross (figuratively speaking). In part, previous administrations are to blame for Portugal being reduced to an impoverished, corrupt state on the verge of bankruptcy and moral decay. So I ask, "WHERE IS ALL THE GOLD" and will the dept be payed with the BLOOD OF PORTUGUESE LABOR?

  • @rsiano Portugal, has you know, started falling, economicaly speaking in the 90´s,all the productive industries were shut down, naval industrie,steal/iron industrie, everything!Portugal received ,betwen 1986 and 1994, 5000 million euros, of Europe´s communitary programs, plus all the charged taxes,it´s alot of money, like you say and i agree, there´s alot of corruption, but look at Greece... joined the EU in 81,they had more 5 years of "european money" and they are much worst then us!

  • @brandaoz Long live the memory of Salazar. The only Portuguese politician that was not corrupt and actually defended the country. Portugal should consider making a "commonwealth of nations" between the former Portuguese speaking colonies. As GB rises, the Portuguese continues to decline. The EU will only impugn upon its sovereignty as a nation / cultural entity.

  • @rsiano (Σ) Brazil and Portugal, united once again.

  • @brandaoz we don`t need Europe, we shall return in to the word again, we are citizens of the word much more than the Americans, watch and see...

  • @forcadelta5 1:51.. talking with the hands!

  • @rsiano Yes man tai Portugal one of the largest gold reserves of the dumb and not to pay the debt does not speak of what you do not know

  • @rsiano Granted, all's not well in Portugal, my issue is not with the fact that Portugal is mismanaged, my issue is with your selection of the word impoverished, which is off the mark by a mile.

  • The issue is this; Portugal does not have the necessary natural resources and/or with the sufficient proportions in order to be a leading economical competitor at the international stage. Instead, it relies on the EU that sends them monetary resources and the possibility for investment. Evidently, this will have lasting effects on the country's economical, political and social sovereignty. If Portugal was enriched as it once was, there would have been no reason to subscribe to the EU/CEE.

  • @rsiano The issue is this: Portugal has natural resources, but lacks in the most important one which is Oil. Oil imports is responsible for much of Portuguese debt. That is why Portugal has been focusing on renewables and is today a world leader. HDI is considered High, GDP Per capita is just over $21 US, Free Healthcare, low taxation, and affordable goods and housing, low crime, efficient transport, above average roads and infrastructure. Portugal is not perfect, but far from impoverished.

  • Those services (i.e. free health care, transportation, low taxation) further contributes to the demise of the Portuguese economy. The EU does not hand over billions of dollars without expecting 'royalties' in return. Foreign industry and investment in Portugal is effecting the a) agricultural industry, b) fishing industry c) small shopkeepers d) the 'feirantes' and finally e) the skilled Portuguese laborer. This is why the unemployment rate continues to escalate without succumbing to the ex debt

  • @rsiano Those services you mentioned are inconsequential to the larger picure. There are many reasons why the Portuguese economy is the way it is, but the main reason is that Portugal was never in position to join the EU from the start. Many of its industries ,mainly SME's, were not matured, or competitve due to the policies left by Salazar. Joining the EU meant that Portugal had to compete against France, Germany who had a headstart, as well as larger industrial base, battle lost at inception.

  • @cabrasega Not only that, but due to the fact that the 25th of April revolution ruined Portugal´s economy. It took 30 years plus to get to a better point economically. Portugal had their economic boom in the early 70s, during the war, and mainly because of the former colonies.

  • @MFPRego If you're referring balanced books, I agree, but speaking in terms of competitiveness of its industries, I disagree. Luanda, for example, which did not have the stifling economic restrictions was considered much more developed than Lisbon at the time, it was the jewel of Portugal. This speaks volumes of how Salazar viewed economic prosperity on the home-front as a threat to his reign. Salazar reduced free enterprise, he dumbed down of the masses with religion and fear.

  • @cabrasega Im just speaking the truth, the results are online, check the economic ministry. Im afraid i dont know the specifics at the time, i can only tell about the results as a whole

  • @rsiano it's true, it's a shame that most don't understand that a great majority of our national identity were our colonies.

  • @rsiano Don't forget about South Africa. They fought the ANC/Cubans in Angola.

  • @alexwribs19

  • Great song! Who's playing? I'd Love to know!
