According to a google techtalk from generalorbital, it seems this was a test made for USAF or somesuch, which was later canned, as they realized it couldn't be deployed from the field (they tried, and it was destroyed by a dustdevil). Not really sure what the objective of the craft was. Regarding drag, it might be less of an issue at +40km...
Ooookay, that was weird. Judging by the vast air balonets and minuscule payload module, this is a super high altitude airship, right? And the shape! Drag, drag, drag. If you want to make an airship flying-wing there's way easier ways to do it. Use a delta. Or a fused catamaran or trimaran. And that model didn't even appear to have the wing shape at all! Just what are you guys up to?
