i own both an s2000 and a civic hatch and i can say this:
Once you put some beefy tires and suspension on the s2000, it is a much faster car. The civic is faster in the straights because it weighs like 600lbs less and has equal power output with a K20 swap.
If your a shitty driver, the civic has potential to win, but my s2000 beats my civic everytime in the hands of a worthy driver.
If i could strip a few hundred pounds out of my s2000 or up the power...bye bye civic forever, no chance

Well, they are correct...FR is dynamically better for racing because of the physics involved in tansferring energy from car to road and vica versus than FF. Dont get upset about that, its not their fault, but FF still has a place in auto sports. I own FF myself but I can admit its a lesser platform.
You just cant talk shit about Fwd. I own a S2000 and auto cross it. Hatchback civics that are done up well and have a good driver can let me have it. But it was sad to see that wheel break like that, nothing a driver can do about that.
WOw I can feel the love in the room. What gets me is the amount of G forces that the S2000 must have been countering to break that wheel right off the axle like it was a snap on wheel. I thought I would only see that on F1 racing but the civic ripped through that corner like it was scraping the grass on the inside lane. I'm a S2000 owner myself but we all know the potential of a well prep FWD on a track, specially when it rains ... i think the guy got carried away talking cr*p and making the "inferior car" remarks, still Civics are still civics on the streeys but once again, well prep Civics or Integras can be great racecars, not that much as "fun" factor but they get fast.
Also an S2000 AP2 owner... I agree that the guy is a little overzealous. FWD is just plain easier to corner under power, where a RWD car like the "S" can pay dividends if the driver is experienced. In short, I understand what he is saying, but he comes off sounding like a knob.

Well, they are correct...FR is dynamically better for racing because of the physics involved in tansferring energy from car to road and vica versus than FF. Dont get upset about that, its not their fault, but FF still has a place in auto sports. I own FF myself but I can admit its a lesser platform.

You just cant talk shit about Fwd. I own a S2000 and auto cross it. Hatchback civics that are done up well and have a good driver can let me have it. But it was sad to see that wheel break like that, nothing a driver can do about that.

WOw I can feel the love in the room. What gets me is the amount of G forces that the S2000 must have been countering to break that wheel right off the axle like it was a snap on wheel. I thought I would only see that on F1 racing but the civic ripped through that corner like it was scraping the grass on the inside lane. My hats of to the civic driver in tunning and ballancing the hatch.

I'm a S2000 owner myself but we all know the potential of a well prep FWD on a track, specially when it rains ... i think the guy got carried away talking cr*p and making the "inferior car" remarks, still Civics are still civics on the streeys but once again, well prep Civics or Integras can be great racecars, not that much as "fun" factor but they get fast.

Also an S2000 AP2 owner... I agree that the guy is a little overzealous. FWD is just plain easier to corner under power, where a RWD car like the "S" can pay dividends if the driver is experienced. In short, I understand what he is saying, but he comes off sounding like a knob.
