  • A Privilege is a benefit it can be trodden on kicked and revoked.

A Right is an entitlement ,it can be trodden on kicked but can never be revoked.

  • I pretty much agree with your view on rights, but I think that privilege is a little broader than that.

  • wow you guys actually have a question i feel i can answer so here it goes. i feel that a privilege is something that can be giving whereas a right is something that is earned through blood sweat and tears.

  • Interesting take.

  • Havir : awesome first video.

The power of the open question is a big one. ;)

I'll agree with the other heather: right's tend to be associated with legal rights. Typically, a right is seen a something you can't lose though.

When you have "no right to do something", often the person is asserted that there should be a law stopping you. You are immoral in some way.

Privelidge is a special "right" which is EARNED and which can be taken away when its not deserved.

  • But can't privileges also be inherited? After all, "the privileged classes" refers to those that have had comfort handed to them.

  • Good point!!!

The Bramin, the upper class, etc ...

The distinction seems more to be that you are "special" in having this ability?

  • Good question. Don't know how to answer that cus I have no idea.

  • You guys are awesome.

I like how you try to make people think!!!

Beware of the open question. Power of the tao for me.

  • What's the diference?

A priveliege is something you have to earn and can be taken from you.

A right is something you will always have and it can never be taken from you.

The question is: Which rights and which privelieges are we going to grant?

I think the basic tenants of the UN human rights declaration + freedom of speech and press, a right to be ruled by a democraticly elected government and a right to live and die as you see fit.

  • Well done and a warm welcome!

  • Welcome to the channel, Javier! Excellent debut, excellent question. I can't wait to answer it.

  • I look forward to your answer. :-)

  • interesting question.

  • Thanks! Feel free to answer it. ;-)
