Why are icons so important? Presumably, you don't need them if your faith is strong enough, isn't that right (I have no dog in this fight; I'm an atheist, just curious)?
Definition of bigot (Merriam-Webster) - "A person who is obstinately or intolerably devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially: one who regards or treats the members of a group (as racial, religious, or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance."
The Shroud of Turin is not the burial cloth of Christ. Jesus has short hair. All ancient frescos ans paintings of Jewish men of Christ's time to 3-400 yrs agter Christ depict jewish men with short hair, which was the custom in the day of Christ. More important, is the Word of God. God does not break His own Word:
1Cor.11
[14] Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
@NephilimFree Oh! NephilimFree! It's an honor to speak to you, though I believe you are a hypocrite because of the vids you deleted, whose message you claimed were God given.
I think you misunderstand 1 Cor. 11. It does not mean it is sinful to have long hair - it just states the fact that it was against the norm.
In fact, Nazirees had to grow long hair, as well as rejecting vine.
The shroud is authentic, examine all the facts. Carbon dating has been proven wrong, the so called copy of 2009 ALREADY fails on 3 major points (3D, blood is not beneath the image, the shroud does not contain red oaker). In 2009 we still can't make an exact reproduction! If we can't do that (the 3D for instance), how and why on earth would someone in the middle ages do that? The shroud is perfect in every detail, many unknown in the middle ages! The textile is ancient Jewish (Masada). Etc. etc.
@leftyking500 lol...Have you evidence to back this statement? If not, maybe you should just keep your comments to yourself, otherwise do some reading! Try educating yourself with your frre time, instead of playing video games or with yourself.
@leftyking500 I Wouldn't need more then a single cell to surpass your intelligence, it seems. So having two, it would seem gives me a unfair advantage. ;-)
And do you know there are strong evidences that the 1988 dating was a fraud? The Nature report of 1989 contains an incredible error. Someone noticed it (YEARS AFTER!), simply repeated the calculations and, surpise! correct results bring to the complete loss of significance of the famous 95% of certainty. Please reply if you are interested.
Explain why the wounds are at the wrists (which could hold the weight of the man, while, incidentally, turning the thumb inwards, as we see in the shroud).
Weren't ALL medieval renditions of jesus pierced at the wrist?
Explain, explain, explain.
Can't do it, can you?
Neither can modern science.
Nature magazine online said that it is simply "unknown how this ghostly image of a serene bearded man was made".

And if you say "HOAX" merely because carbon dating placed the shroud in the middle ages, I have news for you:
Los Alamos Labs has confirmed that those findings are now INVALID, since they were taken from a repaired part of the cloth.
(they dated cotton dyed to look like the shroud, not the actual LINEN that the shroud is made of).
Explain, my friend. EXPLAIN.

Why?
Give REASONS, for gods sake.
Explain the photo negative.
Explain the 3 Dimensions encoded in the image (no photograph or painting known to man has this property).
Explain the perfect medical pathological info seen in the shroud (this type of medical info was unknown in the middle ages).
Explain the medieval weave, a detail which would have been LOST on medieval types.
Explain the marks made by KNOWN roman whips, OTHER info which would have been lost in the middle ages.
