I LOVE the Twilight Saga and I think that the movie director should be a girl and stay that way because women know romance better (totally my opinion) and the twilight saga is from Bella's (FEMALE) point of veiw so therefore the director should be and stay a female.

They could provide you with a different slant on the romance involved with the characters. Plus Vampires are rooted in gay culture. Also the creative team that have brought this money-churning gold mine have created it, knowing full well that the gay community was going to be a secondary target audience.

@whokilledreno it wont change anything if the the director is gay or not. every director has a different style about how they work. but, a male director obviously would try to bring out the action from the books more than the romance and a female director would focus more on the romance than the action. compare twilight (female director) to new moon (male director). that should be some evidence. :)

It is a natural progression of a trilogy story arch to include a heavier sense of confrontation in any story where violence plays a key plot device. Without the increased sense of intensity, the impact of the drama is lost. Think matrix 2, lotr 2, pirates etc etc.

Just so we're clear I loth Twilight with a firey passsion. The only remotely good charcater in the story is Jacob, and I hated what happened to him in the end.

That's stupid about fans not wanting a male director for the films. Buffy and Bram Stoker's Dracula were all directed by men and they had some beautiful romantic scenes.

Not trying to be bias but i had somewhat of a situation like Edward when it comes to his choices and how he feels for the one he loves he reminds me of the gentlemen I was raised to be, Yes gentlemen aren't completely washed off the face of the earth but it seems we have to hurt more then we have to because a lot of girls don't know what they want.

I think that it dose not matter if the directer is male or female. If the director puts in the time and effort to understand the emotion behind the characters then gender shouldn't really matter. Yea some say "woman make choices based on emotion when men choose based on logic" but if the director understands what needs to be done then that's all that should matter.

I read Twilight and watched the Twilight movie, and, don't get me wrong, they were pretty good.

But I don't really like the Twilight series as much now.

Have you guys ever realized that Bella and Edward are in an obsessive relationship? I don't know about you, but I think it's unhealthy for Bella. Yeah, she had to be changed into a vampire before she was too old for Edward, since Edward never gets older, but...

Look at Jacob, too. He's a manipulative jerk; I hate how Stephanie Meyer portrays him as a great guy. I liked him best in the beginning of New Moon, where he was almost all about helping Bella out. But later he starts to manipulate her. He realizes that Bella has an attachment to him, and uses the fact to control her. See Eclipse, when Jacob is about to depart from the tent where Edward and Bella are staying. Such a horrible, vile, manipulative thing should never be forgiven in my opinion.

If Drew Barrymore directed any of the Twilight movies, I would die. She's a great actress, but there is no way that she could do as good of a job as Weitz did with New Moon. These movies should be left to directors who have experience and know what they're doing.
