Good overall list, but Page should be higher. He can play great emotional blues, quick pentatonic, and great minor work. Clapton only primarily plays blues well, Van Halen says he got his tapping style watching Page, but SRV is really good and in some stuff other than blues. hmmmmm......

Please stop discrediting the Edge because he's not a shredder. Yes, his sound is very delay and reverb heavy, but that doesn't make him a bad guitar player. It takes a ton of knowledge and skill to use effects in a tasteful way like he does. He's got more brains than a ton of other guitarists. He plays what is characteristic to the style of his band. If he were a shredder, he wouldn't fit into the sound of U2. He's revolutionary in the world of effects. There's nothing wrong with that at all.

Yngweenie Malmstein does not belong in the top 20 hands down. He makes a lot of orchestrated noise and that is it. I miss Angus, and Steve Stevens is underated. The 20-10 I would replace most, but not all. This is a pretty good list with a couple of exceptions.

He did do some great stuff, like No Quarter and When the Levee Breaks, but I feel sorry for you if you think Hendrix's stuff all sounds the same. I mean he covered at least four or five genres. He was good, but NOT THAT GREAT tapping just gives the impression of speed. I can play a hammer on pulloff combination from fifth postion to third to open on the second string that gives the impression of speed and skill, but is overwhelmingly easy. @Pat9201 Lol well you are definitely in the minority...Most everyone believes its flipped around and Eddie is way overrated, well because he is. He had a pretty cool tone but besides that his speed is just so decieving. Tapping is a very easy technique to learn and he only made it popular. Eddie Van Halen would slap you if you told him he was better than Hendrix, because him and every other modern guitarist wouldn't be anywhere without Hendrix's pioneering.

Great list , the only thing I would change for the most part is Steve Vai at #2. I am not saying he is a bad guitarist , because he is amazing to watch , but I cant say I really enjoy listening to many , if any of his songs.
