You can work on the mental mistakes. Gillis has a sports psychologist on the payroll. But you cant teach a guy to care, you can't teach a guy to play with passion and physicality, especially on a hopeless team like Florida and especially for a guy who is 5'11 and considered "undersized." You can't teach a guy to score goals, but you can teach the areas where Ballard is deficient. If he's teachable, he's a hell of a pick up.

Yeah, it was. That season, Jokinen recorded only 1 or 2 pts in the last 20 games while the team was still in the playoffs picture. Ballard is a better leader and is signed for the next 6 years while Jokinen is not in Phoenix anymore.
