When I hear that guy laughing in the background, I keep saying to my self: if I was robert ford I would pick up the gun a shoot him in his fuckin shit face, cuz laughing at someone thats crying is just not right
@NyoCname neither is shooting a westernized robin hood, with the gun he gave him, in the back like a pussy then when the wife asked if he did it lied to her and then just ran off to get a reward while the kids and wife tried to save him. Nah, he deserved alot more then laughing. if i saw robert ford near me in that bar, i would have broken a bottle and cut him xD just sayin
@rusheena Jesse was a master of public relations. He had a friend in the Missouri newspapers who would publish his perspective. I doubt anyone even realized how much of his gang he killed in his final year, but Bob and Charlie certainly knew that they were next on the list.
@shotgunshawzy Actually I really enjoyed the movie; I just thought that that fact was ironic. And if you didn't like my comment, you didn't have to reply.
@rusheena Pathetic response.... thats what youtube is all about commenting responding debating, just a pity jesse is dead he would have put a gun to your skull & laughed, respond to that.
"Charley Ford became all that his countrymen wanted an assassin of Jesse James to be." For some reason, I really love that line. The way it's placed in that very scene, along with the music and such..so moving and melancholy... The whole film is just full of perfect, brilliant moments like that.
@futurestoryteller No, the singer (Nick Cave) is unarmed, so my impression is that he threw the gun down, it was to avoid arrest, or to be shot by someone else.
@futurestoryteller I agree with your perspective. He may be daring him, and in his emotional state, he may be suicidal after his Brother's death. Personally, I get the feeling he was trying to disarm himself, and the pistol went much further than he intended. He could barely stand as it was.
@futurestoryteller I really dont think it's to disarm himself. He would have dropped it right where he stood. By throwing it at the singer he was saying " Go ahead..shoot me if it's so easy and takes a coward to do it!" He was in a way daring the singer to pick up a gun but I dont think he really expected the singer to shoot him. It was just the action to that was the message.
I have never been a Ben Affleck fan, but when I learned Casey was his brother I never would have guessed how great an actor he would be. You can tell Casey struggled a lot to get the recognition he deserved as an actor even though he was always great. You can feel ans see his emotional pain and passion in his eyes when you watch him.
Is this based on a true incident? They had a very similar scene where Ford confronted someone singing the same song in a saloon in the Sam Fuller movie "I Shot Jesse James".
Holy shit, Nick Cave.

Why can't we all dress like that and be civil in that gentleman's establishment?

Isn't it crazy how a whole country can love a guy who robbed and murdered innocent people and turned on his own?

the guy that's singing is actually nick cave. the genius behind the soundtrack for the assassination, and the proposition.
RottenAppleSeeds 2 years ago 11
Yes, the folk singer is Nick Cave. He did a great job, not only in this scene, but in the Soundtrack.
