Does GT5 support the clutch and is he even using it; If not this isn't half as impressive as it would appear, mastery of the clutch in high performance driving situations is a true talent. Nonetheless it is still impressive and very good and smooth driving even if he is not using the clutch.

Obviously I used the clutch since I was using the H-pattern.

That's not true at all. You can use the H-Patter shifter without the clutch.

@OBCblackhawk That's a fail post. It's a lot easier to drift with a clutch. Going from a controller to a g27 made a world of difference for me. Not every drift is initiated by the clutch. There are many different types of drifting and if your like most drifters you will use most of the techniques in a run depending on the track and situation.

@sh3lbot yes and no, it makes it easier to do things like shift lock and whatnot but the difference between the game and real life is you aren't destroying your transmission. Also, my question still remains.... does the clutch operate linearly in GT5 or is it simply on/off because how you engage and disengage the clutch has a lot to do with how the car operates. My experience with forza and most other sims are the clutches are far too sensitive or just engage/disengage allowing for no slippage.

That was a solid run. I wish I owned a steering wheel setup. Drifting smoothly with a controller has its limits. There comes a time to upgrade and I think I'm at that stage. lol

No he's not only power drifting (out of corners) hes also using the faint (quick zig zag before corners) to shift the weight of the car so as to drift with no throttle. But after the apex, its power drifting all the way.

Just got PS3 ang GT5. Its awsome to drift the 500+ bhp machines, physics are really well dont. I would say its on a par with Live For Speed, if not superior as far as drifting goes, especially with real cars 'n' tracks.

You should try a later turn in on turn 5 so you can get a faster entry speed and also cut the corner at the end better. Otherwise good driving. Got any top 10 lap times?

oh btw, it's right hand drive set up, I'm right handed but I'm also an aussie so I hate how you can't change some wheels for left hand shift (as I'm used to it in real cars, we drive on the left side of the road in aus). cool steering wheel, does it have a handbrake? I hate trying to hit the right button on the GT steering wheel in the midst of the wheel spinning around lol, it's almost impossible! I love the realism of the force feedback wheel in conjunction with this game, just wish the dude on the screen turned his wheel as much - that is the ONLY downside :-( ...then again, nothing's perfect is it. This is damn close tho :-D
