Yes, I first heard this song on "Rescue Me". And his brother deserved the beating. Thank you to the sound post production people who thought to use this song!!
Afghan Whigs was Dulli's soul influenced rock band from the 90's. They were from Cincinnati where legend has it, they met in a jail cell on Halloween night. After several dark albums that evolved from punkish rave-ups to soulful songs about loss, murder and betrayal, they split after distance became too much. Dulli moved from OH to Seattle to New Orleans to LA where he bought the bar "The Shortstop" near Dodger Stadium. One of the best live performers I've seen. Twilight extends the tradition.
Dennis Leary and the singer Greg Dulli (as well as the late director Ted Demme) are/were friends. Demme cast Dulli and his band as the bar band in the "Beautiful Girls" scene where Michael Rapaport is trying to impress Uma Thurman. Dulli is also an Irish mob heavy in "Monument Ave" a movie about Charlestown, MA that Leary starred in and Demme directed.
@poprocks187 Yeah... First heard it from Rescue Me too... The song came out during the scene when Tommy was bashing up his brother... His brother totally deserved that beating!!!!!
