  • In bioshock 2, I thought this song was "daddy would you please come home" slowed down

  • I love this song since I heard in "The Aviator" I felt great, and it reminds me about the movie.

  • today i have a nightmare

  • Anybody else remember this from "The Aviator"?

  • @TheMechaBlue

Yes, in fact, I heard this music in this movie and I noticed, I love it! c:

  • This must have been the song that gave Radiohead the inspiration for "Life in a Glass House"

  • 1 had a nightmare

  • @Punchie1989 Nah that can't be the dislike cause I had a nightmare so I typed in nightmare and now I'm here and I am in love with this track now....

  • The way of the future

  • knew this was bioshock *-*

  • my sis played first claranet in jazz band, and I'll never forget her practicing this one. My fave. Thanks for uploading.

  • Did you know Lauren Faust Quit due to aroused bronies?

  • American horror story

  • @ando1135 "It"s not a carnation silly. It's a dahlia"

  • And not a single dislike. ;D

  • I had this on an old Bluebird 78. The flip side was Non-Stop Flight. One of my favorite records. Thanks!

  • I think it's interesting that this song was released in 1938, the same year that Nazi Gemany invaded chechaslovakia making the invasion of poland that much easier. Thus bringing on a whole lot of nightmares!

  • define scary....

  • This reminds me of the movie "The Aviator,"

  • Around :42 reminds me of Alex North's composition for the 1951 film Streetcar named Desire.

  • who found this from either the avaitor or bioshock?

  • Bioshock 2.

  • @12bobsmith

    yes

  • @zirofastable You won the game.

  • @12bobsmith

    i have it

  • @zirofastable Facepalm. I was talking about "the game", not Bioshock 2. Just google it.

  • @DigFowler then there is this band that redid bad companies bad company pretty good

  • Actually I heard this song from The Aviator.

  • Bioshock got me here. Love it!!!

  • Leonardo DiCaprio's Inner Persephone. :)

  • Artie Shaw's theme song

  • thumbs up if you heard this is bioshock !

  • Bioshock 2's Inner Persephone.

  • brings tears to my eyes.I can't believed this breathtaking music was repeaced by some of the worst musicians ever.

  • @holyu871 music today is bad because they are over doing it with the pop, but in the rock genre they are doing pretty good

  • Scary? Nay. This song is intense.

  • Wow! I love that vintage sound! This is just so much more appealing than modern music.

  • So should the estate of Artie sue "James Bond Theme", or "Summertime" ?

  • What do you and Don Joyce of Negativland have in common? You both own an ass load of records. Kudos!

  • THOOOOOOOMAS !?

  • does anyone have saxophone note sheet for this? if so, or any instrument at all, i have my sheet list in my channel, over 200 songs for sax or that can be played with sax, if you want to trade note sheets.

  • Recorded 9/27/1938 on his second recording session for Victor's budget label "Bluebird", Shaw was well on his way to becoming a sensation among fans discovering his music; It had been his theme song since 1936 and went on to become one of his 8 gold records; when gold records meant selling 1,000,000 copies. (Gold now is only 100,000 and a million equals platinum; I guess it's called "inflation".) So....

  • It fit the last level of bioshock well too, and yes, it is rather sinister sounding.

  • Greatness on a record!

  • i wish I could find a good dry copy of this not restored or anything.

  • A great copy of this is on the soundtrack for "The Aviator" @heitmanek1

  • Scccaaaarrrry!..LOL

    but i LOVE it! :))

  • What the hell kind of music is this? He didn't mention rims or the Holiday Inn once.

  • @ompenarnie or hoes!

  • This song puts a image in my head of a lonely figure in a dark ally stomping to his destination through the night to get his revenge on some person. But thats just what I think of, especially while playing that last level on Bioshock 2.

  • Heard this on the radio this morning, and gained newfound respect for it. Only recognized it before from Scorcese's "The Aviator".

  • The sound is so clear.

  • I have been listening to Shaw and Goodman for over thirty years, and I have yet to come to a conclusion of who I like best. Shaw was cleaner and more technical. Goodman could be as technical, but seemed to have better ideas. Shaw claimed that he was the best, but he was all ego. Hell, who knows.

  • such a brilliant song and game

  • I used to hear this all the time as a kid: ren and stimpy, Kids in the Hall, and some old movies that aren't comming to mind. I was infatuated with old music from the 20s but there wasn't youtube at my age or anyone thought could guide me since everyone was listening to tupac, B.I.G. or Wu-Tang. I haven't a problem with Biggie or Wu-Tang, still listen to them, but I always felt a bit robbed growing up without select and timeless music like this. May as well have grown up in the styx ; ;

  • IM ALL FOR OLD MUSIC ITS MUCH BETTER THAN MODERN MUSIC FROM 1990 AND UP BUT FOR THE SONGS MADE FROM 1920's up to 1989 was the best music ever and i only wish there was a way for me to get that record and a record player

  • i agree with you there

  • When i first heard this song in bioshock, i honestly thought it was a modern composition made to sound old and was quite shocked to see it was done in 38! The song has aged amazing well

  • This played on the loading screen right before Persephone in Bioshock 2, went well with the moment.

  • goes so well with the theme of bioshock 2 great record

  • omg this is amazing, so moody

  • love it! shaw was a genius!

  • F'in Brilliant!

  • Have this on an LP too :D

  • I'm really enjoying this!

  • Comment removed

  • The noise of the record makes the song better!

  • It really does add to the ambiance of the entire genre. Digital music making has sterilized music; mostly for the worse.

  • I agree completely. Records have a suave sound to them that you really can't replicate.

  • I wouldn't go that far. There is some great electronic stuff out there. Try looking away from the Daft Punks and the radio garbage, trust me, it's out there.

  • @DJMamu I've been around enough to know what I like and don't like. This is all opinion of course DJ. I prefer analog instruments and the sound thereof.
