  • HI there, Ive just built my first computer and it is as follows;

CM Scout Case with 700w silent pro PSU

    Sabertooth 990Fx AM3+ Motherboard

FX 8120 CPU - With stock cooler

    Kingston SSDNOW 182GB

    Samsung HDD 7200PM 1TB

    8 Gb (2x4) Ripjaw 1600 RAM

And a radeon HD 5670 1GB Video Card (from my old system)

I Was wondering would you change or have done anything differently to improve the system?

I know you must get alot of these but a reply would be great thanks! :D

  • Woah, what is that dinosaur of a machine?

  • @elsangre333 This video was made in 2007......

  • sweet

  • This is OLD!!!

  • Hello, Would i be able to ask some questions about building a gaming pc, i have some links to the items im going to get, would you be able to check them out and see if it all would work please?

  • i'm mclovin' it

  • It's always smart to build a computer on the carpet. "Prevents ESD"

  • This video is 3 years old. Fact 1. Floppy drives haven't been used as a source of storage since the mid nineties. Fact 2. For every floppy loving floppy-dick, buy a USB drive. You can boot from those...or you could get with the times and stop buying crap because every major motherboard manufacturer has two bios switches: One stock, and one you broke. If this video isn't 13 years old, there is no excuse for a Floppy drive. Hell, YouTube didn't even exist when we used floppy drives as storage.

  • Could the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 be in the HP Pavilion Slimline s5610t?

  • @INFECTEDTERR0R I doubt it would fit...

  • @INFECTEDTERR0R never the card is 2x as large as that whole slimline case

  • @INFECTEDTERR0R,,,,,,exactly why i hate slimline pcs

  • I know that this was almsot 4 years ago but this computer must be a piece of shit now lol

  • hi im planning to make my own pc and i have a lot of questions would you care to help me with my questions like choosing a motheboard and a processor for that motherboard

  • @MrsRocha1 send me a message.

  • oh look, it's zoop425!!... oh.... wait....

  • Xilviussss is right... damn idiots.

  • Hello could you tell me where you bought your Koolance case and tell me the size it is thank you

  • @GunslingerZ100 they no longer make this case.

  • @DissapointedMoose Wherever you are. No It would be $80-$100 because I got my GFX card (gtx 260),(4gb ddr2 1066) memory, and (700W) raidmax psu, in what was basically a steal from a guy off craigslist. I got them all for $150. But anyway my post doesnt matter anymore because I dont care lol.

  • who the F uses floppy drives these days

  • @brandon14872 yea in 2007 but not any more prob

  • no not the floppy drive no not the floppy drive NO NOT THE FLOPPY DRIVE :O

  • installing a floppy drive. Classic line. This is the funniest video ever!

  • what year was this video made?

  • @TheJohnorr1

    2007

  • good computers dont need floppy drives

  • @funnyxaxier you see that this video was made back in 2007 and todays year is 2010 ;)

  • im thinking to build a gaming pc but i dont know wat prosscer to use core i5 or core i7 extreme edtion? but im on a tight budgit

  • @hardy111ful i7 extreme is $1000. just go for the i5 its only like $150-$200, plenty of speed for gaming 2

  • @highhitler1 Thatks very very much im on tiger direct now and im gonna get a gaming ati grafics card core i5 and a asus motherbord, my dad has plenty of cd roms and harddrives, and 1010 mb of ram! Its gonna be a sick pc and im gonna get some videos up of me playin on it!

  • @hardy111ful hey, havin a littl trouble there? i think for now, i5 would be enough, but when you get real pro, you can always upgrade :)

  • @hardy111ful Haha, IF your on a Tight Budget you wouldnt go with Intel. The i7 Extreme Edition isnt for a person on a Tight budget.

  • LOL i dont trust anyone with glass to make my pc :D

  • @SamanthasLover17 The only way you could've gotten the computer you're describing for that much money would be if you whored yourself out for computer parts. Judging by you're user name, I'm assuming that's what you did. Also, Translucent Cases are ugly as sin.

  • @SamanthasLover17

    >implying you know what the fuck you are a talking about

Do you realize how much of a stupid whore you sound like right now? You start by insulting the guy on some bull shit shallow pretenses. And then you attempt to say things, which I guess just doesn't work out for you. If I were you, which I'm really glad I'm not, I would surgically remove your mouth, and loose about 20 pounds, then you might be somewhat less obnoxious.

  • @SamanthasLover17

Also, learn to spell you stupid bitch, are you an adult or a fucking 7 year old child?

  • @SamanthasLover17 Yeah nice computer I wish my dad bought everything I wanted..........

  • @Manifest222 technology changes every day and intel and AMD fix there old weakness's as time goes on. But if you look at the coolent temp.'s on the older cpu's, intel was a lot cooler than AMD. There are plenty of youtube videos on it, give it a search. I dont know about the i7/i5, but AMD is better at overclocking on most of there cpu's.

  • @ChaosPunksXe no, they both only make 64-bit CPUs.

  • @sciguy14 You're an idiot, all three of you are idiots. processors don't come in 32 or 64 bit, they come with an alotted amount of cores. The OS determines weather you're on a 32 bit or 64 bit system.

  • @Xilviusss What the hell are you talking about? CPUs are 32 or 64bit.. A 32bit OS will run on a 32bit or 64bit CPU. A 64bit OS will only run on a 64bit CPU. Most consumer CPUs produced in the last few years have been 64bit.

  • @sciguy14 Incorrect. Processors come in cores. Anything with two or more cores is capable of running 32 or 64bit operating systems. You can run a 32 bit OS on a quad core processor. You cannot run 64 bit OS on anything with a single core. The only correlation between 32 bit and 64 bit is processor compatibility. The processors that are the most common these years in the gaming world are quadcores. which are compatible with both 32 and 64 bit os' This does not mean the processor itself is 64 bit

  • I've got a really good question. Are AMD and Intel pretty much the same? Or are they different. If they are different, please tell me why. Thanks man.

  • @Manifest222 They both make CPUs. As of right now, intel CPUs are a bit more powerful, but AMD is cheaper.

  • @sciguy14

Intel may be a bit more powerful but the difference is so slim when you get the newest processor from AMD that AMD kicks intels ass any day

  • @germanpride20 Incorrect. AMD is sorely behind on efficiency and speed. AMD's Phenom range doesn't even match up to high-end i5s, and not even in the same league as i7's.

Even the new X6 cores fall short of the power of the 4-core i7's. That's a fact.

AMD are great for budget rigs, especially when you can unlock cores like on the Phenom II's, but for high-end rigs, Intel are the only choice these days.

  • @CrytpicMetaphor

Thats bullshit :) There are people who just cant and cannot accept change....I believe you have used intel all your life and just cant admit that intel is a money whore....the processor ist more powerful but for the price its not worth it unless your doing some extreme video editing etc. The AMD phenom II overclocked vor example, if you get the new ones are pretty damn good and are hella cheap compared to an intel core 2 duo or quad core.

  • @germanpride20

i agree my phenom 2 runs 20c cooler thn my i7 cpu i mean what the fuck and there both at stock speeds to :-S both have 4 cores so whats with that ?

  • @CrytpicMetaphor Haha...Except I could use the extra $80-$100 to a higher end Graphics card. So its all balanced out. I have a $400 AMD machine.

    Phenom II x4 @ 3.8GHz 24/7...IDLE: 26C /// GAME LOAD: 35C

    GTX 260 @ 760/1600/1100

    4GB DDR2 1066 Kingston HyperX

    700W RaidMax

How much did you spend on your Intel Machine?

  • @Manifest222 Intel is also more power efficient and stay cooler than AMD. High temperature's can really slow down your computer.

  • @sciencefreak2402 No, they use the same technology, just different methods of dividing the cores. It's really simple the way there different. AMD is also supposed to be used on a windows, you get the best user experience. Intel is like, really good on windows also, except they can ALSO be used on macs. You should look it up, it's pretty interesting. I also looked at temps for phenom and i7, same temps bro. :D Nice to talk to someone though, cya.

  • @Manifest222 intel CPUs hav hyperthreading, a CPU with hyperthreading is on average 30% faster, for example, i hav a i5 760 OCed @ 3.6ghz, and there was an i7 quad core that was like 3.2ghz, and it scored better on Prime95

also, intel CPUs tend to last longer... AMD is more gamer based, ppl who want to upgrade every 2 years or so

  • Why are you installing a floppy drive? do you have files from what the 20s?

  • @kkinger55446 RAID Drivers for XP. This video is old.

  • floppy for raid drivers. bet you he is using xp

  • dont bring a laptop to the north pole lol mangnetic force... im lmao in my computer chair!

  • Ultimate? LOL

  • I have used a magnetic screwdriver for 20 yrs and not once have I ruined a Motherboard.

  • I like his 3 1/2 floppy

  • FLOPPY IS THE SHIT!

  • @theedman3 Some times it is. . .I remember needing it to flash my bios.

  • it takes a very strong magnet to mess with a hdd and a screwdriver wondt do that, it take like a rare earth magnet or neo magnet

  • Look up computer case with locking door??

  • Do you know were can I get one that locks the power button and cd drives with s door like yours??? Thanks

  • @yankesstink Just search for it. Plenty of cases have locking doors.

  • Do you know were I can get one That has a locking door ov the drives??? Or a door covering the drives???? If so can you tell me were to get one!!! Thanks

  • @yankesstink try koolance. They made this case.

  • What kind of case?? Were can I get that one?? Plz tell me were I am build one and know were to get it. Thanks

  • @yankesstink They don't make this case any more.

  • A magnetic screwdriver is not a problem unless it is stupidly powerful. Magnets are not as dangerous as people think, what about natural gravity for example?

  • oo floppy drive O.o what would that be used for exactly?....

  • theres some fucking stupid people on youtube. read the upload date.

  • @blingking501 hah thanks you saved me some time.

  • LMAO!! Cd and floopy drives lol thats one Ultimate Computer.lol

  • People! THIS VIDEO IS 3 YEARS OLD! Stop talking about "what it's all about" in terms of hardware. Anybody who deals with computers knows how quickly "ultimate" turns into "mediocre". You build an ultimate PC, a few months later it becomes "somewhat ultimate". A year later it becomes "high end". And I don't think I need to keep going...i'm pretty sure you get the point now, lol.

  • ultimate my ass

  • Damn dude you still go for the floppy drive now that what I called a old school lol

  • ywah got to keep it old school with the floopy drive

  • i've been building PCs for about 20 years. what is an ultimate computer today will be old in several months due to product cycles.

  • 'N jizz in mah pants.... NEXT!!!

  • Revenge of the nerds!

  • should have bought a decent camera instead of stuff for a pc

  • Dude! Floppys are ancient why mount that shit? Install a MultiMedia Bay instead is way more useful dude!

  • Comment removed

  • lol floppy drive is this 1987

  • Floppy drives are still amazingly useful.

For recoveries (and BIOS flashes if you use certain methods).

  • wow, can i put a video up on my last three builds? Not one of them has a floppy drive dude.

  • o dear god, how old is this, floppy disk drive, wtf

  • do it matter how old the floppy is you can still use them for bios flash booting problems ere

  • That's pretty kicka** butt where did you buy the stuff

  • Damn I want to do computers and get money and love doing computers but i have high school and then college so fuckkkkk

  • HOLY SHIT!!! can the force be with me too? me want to learn about computahs TOO!!!!!!!

  • Hey punk! I will buld a grave from your shit!

  • how do i get into this kind of stuff i wanna make a computer with like 10 gb of ram and a terrrabyte harddrive

  • i wanna be a techy soooooo bad :( i still have college ahead of me though haha

  • Imagine Windows Vista on a Floppy Disk!!

Now, its more like on a flash drive...NOT a floppy

  • @MrJoeMontano ive install xp on a 4gb flash key before slow as fuck

  • Floppy Drive: No and no. Please do not ever show a floppy drive in any video, lol. They are ancient tech and that kind of thing is a disease!

  • Well XP owners still need one because of RAID drivers.

  • and cd lol, its all about dvd now, cd doesnt really come on now pcs anymore.

  • @nightfox272 the wounders of dead tech theres loads like now there bluray and dvd before there was videos cd used to be tape and recores tech is alway changing its evolution to bettewr or selfs

  • @nightfox272 all about bluray burners now buddy

  • They're extremely useful for creating a basic boot disk for the older operating systems up to Windows 98.

  • FLOPPY DISK! good for installing 95 or 3.1 or On CD 98 ME 2000 XP AND VISTA OR WINDOWS 7!

  • i have an xbox 360 and i've went back and fourth spending 500$ on building a pc i have no problem spending or building it its that i dont know if i'll use it if you will, are pc games fun or is it worth sticking with xbox (i have a pc, but definatly not a gaming one)

  • lol ur the one watching this video... i think you like it too.

  • lol that makes no sense. Just because someone comments on a video or even watches it, doesnt mean they have to like it. If what you described is the case, then why does youtube even bother with a ratings system???

  • didn't say they have to like it. he was complaining that building computers in a nerd thing to do, but then again he was the one that searched for how to build computers and got this video. why would he search for it if he doesn't like it.

  • Note that the video was uploaded 2 years ago, floppy drives weren't as useless back then.

  • i still use floppy drives. you never know when you will need them.

  • floopy drive ??

    whoa im so surprised

  • floppy drives :| .... JUST... why lol?

  • LAWL OMFG OMFG OMFG I lol'd BRO NERD

  • nerd!

  • DAMN! I wish I could get the money for that...any tips?

  • get a job and save up lol

or sell some unwanted or unused stuff

  • that looks fun :)

  • flooppyy drive...lmaooo

  • is floppy necessary anymore?

  • im suprised he put in a floppy drive taking in account for the year posted

    2007...no one used floppys

  • Vid said he used them for RAID, but I assumed he used them for Linuxing. Silly Linuxers...code is for IT guys.

  • no, floppy is not necessory anymore ever since usb flash drive and memory stick are invented.

  • don't use magnetic screwdrivers... got it

  • Magnetic screwdrivers are fine. HDDs are just really sensitive, if you touch/smash/poke/stain/shock/supermagnitize that exposed circuitry on them, they MIGHT be toast.

FBI recovers information from them just fine. So eat them and carry your guilty, sinful data with you in your colon.

  • THATS LIKE FUCKING ALIEN TECHNOLOGY O_o , AND SAME AS 3 XFX ATI 4890 2GB IN CRSFR O_o

WOW LOOK AT THE EVOLUTION OF COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY

    one word: INCREDIBLE o_O !

  • AWESOME GUIDE! I especially loved the part where you made it talk like a puppet. I feel like I too can now build a rig half as awesome as this. A++++ I love your guyses videos, you should have a tv show or something.

  • You mean ati and nvidia.

  • Anyone who want to know what happen when people start builting their own PC then just look at the video.

It's like looking into ur future!

It that what u want to be?

  • people have been building there own computers forever

  • lol @ floppy xD but nice vid man xD

  • hey guys I have a DC5000 small form factor computer I modified myself. I work with computers to suppor my life.. yay..

  • i found that case at yard sale. its the same 1 as u what kind is it?

  • 4870x2, cheaper and well cheaper or just get XFX4890 in crossfire there amazing cards, trust me

  • 4890 x2 and 5000 series coming soon :)

  • You Fail

  • your channel rules!!!!

  • I Seriously think Intel are for STOCK Users... the only thing they're good for is endurance and longetivity.. AMD is the processor you want if you want to update technology every year or so..

  • great vid! i'm trying to build my first computer, plan on using it primarily as a home theater system. this is the hardware i have so far, any ideas or suggestions for better hardware will be much appreciated!

    MOB - Intel DP45SG 775 ATX

    CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400

    RAM - Cosair DDR3 - 1600 CL9 (4GB)

    VIDEO - NVidia GE Force 9500GT (1gb)

    HD - WD Caviar Black 1TB, SATA 3gb/s, 32mb Cache, 7200rpm, WD 1001FALS

Again, any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated!

  • GeForce 9500 GT is CRAP

  • 8500 and 9500 nvidia is the EXACT SAME PRODUCT. Get a better video card. otherwise youre fine.

  • if can can wait, save up for a ssd.

  • hi do you know how to connect light tube on pc ?

  • plug it into molex.

  • are you sure about the magnetic screwdriver because on other videos it says it doesnt really make a difference

  • they are correct, it really doesn't. They aren't strong enough to interfere with HDD magnets. I was just trying to be safe :)

  • oh k thanks

  • How can you tell if a screwdriver is magnetic or not :S?

  • hold metal up to it and see if it sticks

  • you need to remove the bay shields SNAP, i really should listen to u :O

  • electro static wristband please! nothing like a pair of latex gloves when building a rig.

  • no its not its the Release canidate which is post beta and you get to use it until next june, but wouldnt wanna use it post march

  • why wait fir 7, im using it right now

  • lol floppy drive :)

  • i know i cant wait.. should be comming out soon

  • I might make an ultiamate computer, what OS? XP or Vista? Vista takes too much power, so should I go with XP?

  • Windows 7 coming out soon might aswell just wait.

  • I agree, windows 7 FTW

  • hey if you guys wanted windows 7 you shoulda goten the beta version i am running it is faster then vista is all i can say

  • beta version only last till like sept. or something

  • hey man i want to upgrade ram and i dont know what is the name of my mobo so how do i know if my mobo can support 800 MHZ rams ???

  • Most if not all modern mobos can support 800mhz memory.
