I really like the way Alyssa holds her long notes - and then lets the vibrato kick in at the end.

The video quality was a little iffy at first, but it improved in the second half with more close-ups. (I know it's hard to film live stage.)

I've rotated this video onto our "Best of College Musical Theatre" playlist.

The music theater program at OCU is AMAZING as you can tell from this clip. Pretty much everybody can sing about this good(except Alyssa is definitely near the top). Plus the facilities are amazing. You should definitely consider OCU!

ocu is a waste of money. + there is no case where a talentless person can go to a school filled with steinway pianos (where some of the best musical faculty was laid off last year and replaced with NEW COUCHES in the student center) and automatically acquire talent.

I live in New York and have been touring for a few years on multiple shows and to be honest there are a million girls with that voice. Incredible as it was... the acting was lacking. When I said "movement," I meant more acting/body language, expression, and what not, rather than standing still. Movement can always make a difference. However just because she didn't move doesn't mean her singing was any less good, because as I said earlier her singing was amazing. That comment was definetly not necessary. When you see broadway shows and professionals on stage, 99% of the time they include movement. That's part of what makes up musical THEATRE, expression... MOVEMENT.
