  • this is one of the most unusual videos ive ever actually had the enjoyment of watching most odd ones are lost in translation

  • For the record, Phish did the cover. TV on the Radio did the original. As in YOU'RE WATCHING THE ORIGINAL! :D

  • I was at the rec center at MU and they played this song in one of the work out rooms! Had to be one of the weirdest videos I've ever seen. I'd really like to know what the director of this video was thinking and why.

  • hah...when I first saw PHiSH covered Golden Age, I expected it to be Beck's Golden Age off of Sea Change with Gordo singing...As a TVOTR fan too though, cool to see them cover this Golden Age. When was the last time Phish covered a song by a good band thats only been a handful of years?

  • Funny I was at the Phish show last night and I don't recognize it. Either they made it their own or I was just trippin out. Have to wait to hear the show again.

  • Its weird TVOTR covered a phish song on their album.

  • phish had nothing to do with this song, they just covered it

  • these guys are awesome - phish just covered this song like 10 minutes ago - woot!

  • looks like you two had the same idea I did, shadude, are you streaming the show?

  • this song has PHISH written all over it!

  • even great as a Phish cover :)

  • This is definitely not the trippiest thing I've ever seen. Seeing them live in Golden Gate Park on 5 hits of acid was the trippiest thing I've ever seen.

  • Love love love love this song. It's fantastic. The video is... interesting, I wish it was done better :/ but good enough!

    -PLUR

  • this video might be the "I am the walrus" of the last decade

    so trippy

  • i feel like joining an anthropomorphic cult now!!

  • Join, Join!

  • ....what...the....fuck???

    lol!

  • i have recieved your message lovingly, thank you

  • The age of miracles. [i.e. things we think of as 'miracles' becoming commonplace]

The age of sound. [music as a medium for communication rather than meaningless entertainment 'product' to be sold and profited from]

    Well there's a Golden Age.

Comin' round, comin'round, comin' round! . [an age of enlightenment approaching]

Now we're all allowed to breathe.

    Walls dissolve.

With the hunger and the greed.

    Move your body.

You've got all you need. [everyones needs will be met]

    message is clear

  • wtf?

  • hahaha the cops are like care bears

  • I luv the song but the best part is the breakdancing copz

  • This video is awesome, but you have to realize that it is all about David Bowie. Explore Bowie if you like TVotR. Bowie is the master of all.

  • ...um...he did backing vocals for one song. And it wasn't this one. Or even on the same album.

He's a huge influence, sure, but he's faaar from their only one.

  • the message here is about the new age. the video is filled with illuminati symbolism. this video is TV on the Radio showing who their allegiance is with.

  • just like dancing choose

  • Nobody OWNS symbols, they can be used for Dark and Light, a person makes it so.

  • I think its talking about the end of gay discrimination is coming... 0_o

  • so THATS what police do in their spare time

  • yea its a good video but what is the message.

  • You have to be high on something to fully appreciate this video

  • appreciated

  • kinda trippy

  • you cant watch tv on the radio. that represents this music, most people cant dig the music because they only have a radio.

  • video makes perfect sense

you guys are just thinking too hard. Lie back and just let it present itself to you. It's exactly what it is.

  • man if I was high right now I'll would be saying damn this video is the best

  • I wish I had 6 arms.

  • hahaha so lame lol

  • what is this about

  • and until you are at the level of tv on the radio, you will never know.

  • well its a video with a good beat and good singers and thats all that matters. there are plenty of videos that dont make sence.

  • this is the trippiest thing ive ever seen. i dont have a clue what he is talking about in this video

  • this has to be the trippiest things ive ever seen. it blows your mind and i have no idea what he is talking about.

  • The symbolism is heavy in this vid.

  • what the fuck?

  • i second that.

    WTF?!?

  • this video is the most messed up video I have ever seen the director must have been on crack lol.....

  • What the hell is with random police? I like the song and the band but the director of this video needs to question his artistic integrity.

  • I don't think that they are quite random.

  • u gotta be fuckin shitting! who the fuck could be serious about making a video like that, dude theres fuckin rainbows flying around for fucksake! i would punch these guys in the head for something that gay

  • its so ridiculous i love it

  • the all seeing eye is power

  • Off the Wall MJ, meets Another One Bites the Dust, meets Bowie Fashion. They need to collabo with Cee-lo.

  • good song but the video isnt so good.

  • whats with the dude with the beard at the beginning? what a hell of an intro. and the guitarist looks like the verison guy.

  • i feel high when i watch this vid!

  • These guys got Soul.

  • and with all your powers combined I am Captain Planet

  • Lmfao good one

  • lmao

  • HAHAHAHA

    Fucking awesome

  • Great song, but as far as the video goes:

    What the hell?

  • i thought you were a hater until i saw the dudes head turn into a parakeet and the cops became carebears. that was like mescaline.

  • lmao.... your name is "joe jonas lover" and you think this is gay

  • ahahah made my day, plus this is good music unlike that crap the jonas bros try to pass as music

  • This is really good. it sounds like a beck song.

  • my favorite part 3:10

  • Well I guess we differ in musical taste I prefer more rock instrument driven music

  • well im also 16 and i think its a fantastic album.

  • try listening to the lyrics.

  • I need to be WAY higher than this in order to even start trying to understand what just happened... lol

  • this is a fucked up video

  • fucked up vid but AMAZING SONG 1:45 is my favorite part

  • this song has a tendency to get stuck in my head. like for days at a time. love these guys want to see them in concert again.

  • Wow, what a bizarre/awesome video.

    Loved their performance on SNL!!!

  • the way the cops dance, thats how im going 2 dance at prom

  • THIS IS A COOL VIDEO FOR A GREAT SONG AND THIS COMMENT HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH TIME TRAVEL, SCIENCE, GOD, OR RELIGION. i hate everybody ever.

  • awesome song!!!

  • this is cool

  • Reminds Me of little big planet

  • tv rocks...why don't yeah go watch some mgmt or something..

  • ha ha ha this waz soooo funny i spilled cerial all over myself frig this looks like im high and plus when the deer is climbing u can see his mask floping

  • This is what happens if you drop acid in church.

  • Is this video supposed to symbolise religion versus authority?

  • This video is so ridiculous. I don't know whether I like it or not, but I do know that I can't stop watching it. Great song though.

  • This is one of the gayest music videos... ever. I mean, seriously: dancing cops (which dance amazingly I might add), cops who turn into care bears, rainbows, rainbow stones in the mountain, a triangle, really muscle guys who climb on top of each other to form an erect structure, and someone playing the flute? Gay

Essentially this music video is sheer epicness!! Love the song.

P.S. The cops could be strippers with their moves

  • gay cops hahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahah lololololololo lmfao XD

  • Tha funkiness...

  • for those totally clueless about what the video, and more in particular, the lyrics are about....they're talking about what a lot of artists and intuitives are talking about right now - "ascension." the belief is that humanity is about to undergo a major beneficial change in consciousness sometime between now and 2012. some think it's some sort of dimensional shift - a move to a higher "frequency." some think we'll invent time travel. call me "new agey" but i sense it too.

  • youre full of shit brent 81.

  • wow, what an intelligent and thoughtful response. sorry if i melted your mind, just trying to help the rest of the "der...i dun get it" crowd out.

  • well also dude u siad in 2012 they might invent time travel well did u know that is when the miyans stoped making callanders? they say it might be the end of the world in 2012 like on dec 31 end of world so they say

  • yeah on dec 21, 2012 the mayan calendar ends. mayan elders are pissed off though because doomsayers think it will be the end of the world but the mayans actually believed that the world would not end, but be transformed. terence mckenna believed time travel invention was a possibility, and tied in into his timewave zero theory and the "most novel event ever in the history of time" that occurs on dec 21, 2012 of his timewave graphical plot.

  • Time travel isn't possible. If you went back in time to change something, it would've changed already. History would've been that way. There's no time travelling. Never will never was. If there is, I'll track you down and pay you all the money I have at that time. And gladly, because I know it's not happening. And, on top of that, that's magical thinking, and God says in the bible that magical thinking is against him, if you're christian, that should matter....

  • Dude your an idit, God wouldnt forbd us from science... just cause you cant understand it... and where does it say that?

  • Dude, you're retarded. I used logic and religion and you still deny it? Lol. And I'm the "idit" here. And, God doesn't forbid us from Science, he forbids us from Magical Thinking. And, if you can give me proof that there is Time Travel Soon, I'll agree with you. Otherwise, I've got the upper hand here and we both know it. In the very least, I THINK you have enough sense to agree....

  • Oooops typo, Well never be abe to go back in time, just forward. God says not to covet, which is not to want and trying to advance civilization is not bad, w/e enjoy your upper hand i dont have to proof myself to kids who dont know what there talking about.

  • Well, if you're talking about forward in time, there's a possibility, but I see no reason to do so. They might, but it'd be stupid.

  • God isnt real, that is the most primative idea. Thats why its so old cause people were stupid. Therefore you cant rely on religion as facts.

  • God and religion don't necessarily go together.

  • Then Nor Science can prove it as well. Take your cells. Look at each individual one. Every single on is different. That wasn't caused by a big explosion from a dot. Nor was the endless spanse of universe the result of an explosion. Prove me wrong if you dare to try, but I've got theories to prove nearly every religion false, to have flaws, except christianity. So go ahead. Try and prove me wrong.

  • Well, back in the 1600s if you told people that that we would walk on the moon or that we would be able to talk to anyone in real time by things called a telephone and the internet that would have been pretty magical thinking. "Magical thinking" for us could be everyday life for people in the future. It's all very relative. How time travel could be accomplished baffles us now, but that doesn't mean it can't be done or that its against God's will. (And, yes, I'm a Christian...)

  • I suppose I was being a bit nieve. But, I think that as things are, We COULD Make Time Travel, just not into the past. I mean, if you went into the future at any given moment, then you could go back in time to as far back at the moment you left. Or rather, you'd only want to. I mean, the whole "Go Back in time and change history" Thing isn't possible. If you're in your present time, what's done is done. What will be will be. And that's how I think things will happen.

  • I'm not sure if I understand what you meant. But, I think it might take manipulating things on a molecular or even an atomic level. Time travel may be more like typing formulas that correspond to certain moments in time into a computer that sets off a change of events at an atomic level. Those events would "refresh" what we see in the natural, like refreshing a computer page that won't load properly. The new page would contain changes to what was there before...more like a kind of "time-change".

  • The other thing is that we tend to think of time as linear, when it may be more wave-like in structure. Perhaps this is akin to people thinking that the earth was flat, when we now know its round. If time is wave-like then the present may be similar to riding a boat in rough weather. When you dip in to the trough of one wave you can't see anything around you. When you rise to the crest, you can see the next wave coming.

  • Perhaps only the intervals where we're at the "crest " of time would time-travel or time-change be possible; or perhaps we could only travel from crest to crest while certain portions of time are not able to be traveled. ANYWAY, pardon my waxing philosophical here! It's just interesting to think about. =)

  • Oh, I think I understand what you're getting at. But, what I was trying to say is this: If you tried to change the present by going into the past, it just doesn't make sense. I mean, I don't know how to explain it. Look: If you went into the past to try and change something, it would've already happened. Like, If you wanted to go back and change something, it would be pointless, because you've already made an attempt, which has already affected the present. Am I making Sense, or no?

  • Are you saying that there would be no point because there'd be no visible difference? It could be that when you change something in the past, a ripple effect is created, which starts a series of subsequent changes that are both retro- and pro- active; everything up to that point in the past is altered and everything after is altered. For there to be no visible difference a change would need to be enacted at the same place every time, else you're only adding to what was changed previously.

  • Eh, I give up. Your theory is agreeable. What I'm trying to say, I have it in my mind, but putting it to words is too complicated for me. I'm sorry. Oh Well.

  • lol. OK. =)

  • Oh, by the way, thanks for not being an ass and stopping to personal attacks just because we disagree. Much appreciated. :)

  • unless you're really creating a completely new version of the present

  • the lead singer the black guy without the beard looks just like tito ortiz except hes black. but their facial structures are practically identical. crazy . tv on the radio is the shit

  • Whoa! That's so true! Hahahaha!

  • I love the song and the video... But the video still perplexes the shit out of me.

  • i absolutely LOVE this. bizarre imagery and symbolism.

  • Why does this remind me of The Tim and Eric show???

  • Haha, gay cop carebears! lol

  • I don't get the rainbows jutting out of the cops' chests... Are they gay, or something? And what's with the half-animal, half-buff guy things?

I'm kind of disappointed that they didn't.
