Time travel may be more like typing formulas that correspond to certain moments in time into a computer that sets off a change of events at an atomic level. Those events would "refresh" what we see in the natural, like refreshing a computer page that won't load properly. The new page would contain changes to what was there before...more like a kind of "time-change".
