I hate to say it (not rreally) but buck-tick would be nothing without theire amazing vocalist atsushi sakurai. *end of story* {where as in my opinion, best band of Japan; dir en grey is awesome all around. Vocalist has best range of any rock singer. 2 damn good gutarists. 1 bassists that practically plays in his sleep. and the worlds 3rd best drummer.} I love buck-tick very much! But I'll be the first to say I wouldn't care for them without Atsushi. >_>

they ARE not visual kei, glam rock came well before visual kei. these guys are queen/beatles/david bowie mixed in one. God damn weeaboos thinking visual is the only form of music to come out of japan.

@UpSkirtSushi : They're one of the founding bands of VK along with X Japan which coined the term. They've never been labeled VK per se, but along with X and LS they were one of the founding bands to help create the genre so they DO get a mention with it.

@ketsuekiblood they ARE visual kei, they were one of the first bands which dressed in the visual kei style... but they're not so much vk anymore, i guess... depends on with who you compare them xDD

@mindbotling well you're right, because this band is of the japanese legendary Visual kei (ok its kind of clothing style, but vk bands like to tie their looks with their music) bands (other being x japan, d'erlanger and Color) but hmm if you like experimental and you love 90s, then listen to dir en grey's and malice mizer's first albums, and if youre hard rock guy, then luna sea or zi:kill or laputa. But if you prefer poppish rock, then kuroyume (its last albums were punk rock...)

@mindbotling depends what you're looking for. If you want more visual/strange stuff, look up Malice Mizer, Kuroyume, LunaSea, and Janne Da Arc. X Japan is also a legendary band in Japan that is a contemporary of Buck Tick but I'm not a big fan since I feel their sound is dated. Gackt is a famous rock/pop singer who came out of Malice Mizer that you might want to check out. Do as Infinity is a good rock/pop band that isn't visual but has a female vocalist.Really, there's lots of stuff out there.

In my opinion Buck-Tick is way better than X or Luna sea. They all came out around the same time. But it's like Buck-Tick doesn't get half the recognition as the other two.

Very few people knows B-T outside Japan, no? At least, in Brazilian internet is very difficult to find something besides downloads. Biography, fan community, everything is rare/weak. And there's not Portuguese translations (ok, maybe 2).

I wonder, why? Maybe they're not very much on media, animes, cm, these things that bands like L'Arc does.
