Oh and where did you get the stock pipes from no chromer will touch my old pipes? I also am trying to rejuvinate the whole bike I have rebuilt top and bottom end in motor but It needs new paint I have bought decals from Canada and need that seat.I have a single passenger seat that previous owner cut for qld rego.I also need tips on how to get rid of surface rust on bits and pieces or might just replace headlight rim. Thanks,Nice Bike.
You would'nt happen to know where i can get an original Dayton seat pan,I've been looking for one for 3 years I live in NSW? Dave did u take a photo of your bike and put it on the net a while ago it had Tassie plates?
Dammitt, I had one of these. Bought from a wrecking yard for $ 750.00, fixed the damage let a friend ride it, crashed it, bought it from me for $ 1,000.00. Wish I still owned it.
out here in the states, the rare one is the regular version RD..seems like every one out there is the Daytona here. Same in Australia, always the Daytona version for sale. I don't think the daytona was ever imported to Britain by Mitsui Yamaha. I have a daytona one piece head in my collection of bits and pieces, I think they did that one piece head to suppress radio interference from the spark plugs, same as the RamAir heads on the Suzuki triples.
She's beautiful ...

I had 6 RDs. This one was my favourite. The LC and RZ were kool but this girl
was/is just plain sexy.

Just like the one I had back in the 80s. Even then it drew a crowd parked. Too bad some buttmunch stole it.
