  • I like the "newer" play better.

At least it's not a Snooze-Fest like the late 50's rigged original.

  • I do remember watching the CBS version on USA network (back when as a kid Court Shows, Game Shows, and Cartoon Express were the three kings.) I do remeber there was a priest on this verson that was cleaning house.

  • @newstarcadefan The only seasons of Wink's TTD that USA aired was from 1982 until Wink's finale in 1985, and then they went back to 1982. They never aired anything from before that, including the CBS run.

  • @johnissoevil Not to mention, CBN (abc family) only aired the Early 80's Episodes of TTD and yes, CBN nor USA has ever aired the CBS Version

  • TTD could've added the cash amounts and the TIC & TAC in the Dragon round on the CBS version. It would've survive the daytime edition.

  • Not sure if ppl know this but the studio that housed this show now houses Hell's Kitchen.

  • No, Jay's CBS show was Blkackout in 1988 he was announcing the final 2 weeks.

  • Dan Thomas would go on to be a contestant on Tic Tac's sister show The Joker's Wild on Jack Barry's next to last season.

  • Amazing, I've NEVER seen a CBS episode of TTD! Weren't the CBS episodes destroyed?

  • Its more likely they were misplaced then erased. By 1972, CBS had suuposedly stopped wiping all Daytime Programming.

  • @TServo2049 Well the NBC Version was Destroyed, but the CBS Version is still uncertain, I mean hey, if The CBS Version of The Joker's Wild were Found, then I'm sure that the CBS Version is still intact from either WCBS or KCBS also.

  • @tnawcwvictoria Back then, KCBS was KNXT.

  • @tnawcwvictoria Actually, not all of the NBC version was destroyed. Some NBC-era Jack Barry episodes still exist and are available for viewing at the Paley Center for Media in New York City.

  • @TServo2049 Not after 1972.

  • I think the main reason this version was short-lived was that many stations didn't carry Tic Tac Dough, opting for local or syndicated programming and that's probably what hurt the show. But when it was in syndication, it became a big hit, often airing in tandem with The Joker's Wild.

  • And wouldn't you know it, some of those CBS affiliates would eventually carry the syndicated version later on.

  • Scratch my last comment, I just remembered that Jay filled in for Johnny Gilbert on Blackout about 10 years later.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this was the only time Jay Stewart announced a CBS game show.

  • Thanks for the upload! I remember watching this very first episode in 1978. That dragon was SCARY!

  • Interesting how the reveal in the bonus round took a lot longer than it did in the syndie era...nice suspense-building by Wink, though. :-)

  • thankyou for youtubing this episode

  • I noticed that there's no sound when the categories are revealed.

  • So did Dick Clark in 1985 when $100,000 Pyramid debuted alone side of $25,000 Pyramid.

  • Why did this onl,y last nine weeks? Great show, though. I miss it so much.

  • Due to "low ratings"

  • It must been that CBS did not want it.

  • I'm glad that this is posted. Thanks!

  • I'm surprised that this only lasted nine weeks on CBS Daytime! It definitely should have lasted a little bit longer (although Wink would have to work twice as hard for a little while).

  • Thank you for uploading this.
