great video! my girlfriends tensioner just took a crap and the chain is slapping around in the cover (the car is not being driven and no other damage has been done to it). what is the easiest way to get at the tensioner to replace it? and how much of a pain is it to just replace the tensioner alone?....just need it quiet so we can go trade the p.o.s in on somethin better
not to be mean but u should of took the engine out but other then that this help me i had to do the same thin and the only diffrence is i took the engine out
@cooskatekid3 totally agreed...i am working on another sebring right now that has a bad headgasket or waterpump not sure yet but i am removing the engine to work on this time....
I have a 2000 Intrepid and it's making the diesel type noise that i've read that it seems to be either the timing chain tensioner or oil lifters...what could it be? Oil light isnt on..its full but im not sure exactly what it could be?
@Vuko2009 definately not an easy engine to work on...try doing valve seals...that took forever....no room and a shitty tool i had to borrow from chrysler....... took 5 hours to do valve seals...and 5 mins on a chevy 2.2 figure that out....
@toyota4life94 drive belt will squeel constantly if waterpump is seizing up waterpump may leak or the engine will run hotter than norma if it is bad...
the belt will need replacing if it has been sqeeling for quite some time...
check the tread on the belt for cracks low tread.... or threads showing and check the edges for wear...
if your not sure got to junk yard pay $5 for cheap belt and replace...if it still makes noise....replace waterpump.
