That's why you should never join a union. An organisation that can be demolished with a single act of parliament is in no position to fight for your rights. Standing on a picket line with a sign reading "never be defeated" just makes you look like an idiot.
@92right92 You're right, private sector workers shouldn't be treated any differently than public sector workers. So why should this new government (who hid their plans before the election) have a right to take away public sector entitlements that are enjoyed by the private sector? I'm talking about pay rises in line with the CPI, maternity leave, holidays... the whole lot's under threat.
About time the public servants in this once great state started working for their money. John Robertson should have retired after the disgrace that was every single member of the NSW Labor government.
Private sector employees have to deliver with their work, why should it be any different for the public sector? They need to know that unless the improve their productivity, they're not going to get paid any more that the rate of inflation.
This law is for anyone who has ever lodged anything app
@92right92 Its clear you know nothing about this law. This will cap workers wages at 2.5% which is below inflation and does not take into account the inflation movements. This is in effect a cut. So yes, the Public Sector workers should be treated the same way as the Private sector by being given the same conditions.
Good on you John and the opposition. We need you to fight these laws because, directly or indirectly, they're going to affect every single man, woman and child in this state.
