Fly over the PNW and see how much the FS cares about the forest: Large swaths of trees cut i.e. clear-cuts. Not the giant cuts of old, maybe, but heinously large imo. I was a Forest Recreation resources major in college in Oregon, and can honestly say that the FS is in bed w/ the logging industry. W/out massive pressure in the form of lawsuits from layers hired by environmental groups, the forest would be raped at an even worse rate than currently. I'll continue below
@shizniot : (myself) Look at the WOPR (Western Oregon Plan Revision ) that the BLM proposed in '09. BLM controls more land than any gov agency and proposed cutting 700 million board feet of timber, including lots of old-growth (an ecosystem we've lost almost entirely to logging). Luckily, it was struck down w/ pressure from the public. But why do we have to fight to save the land we own from bureaucrats and the wealthiest 1% of the population who control industry and gov? This is a snowjob!
I live in leavenworth, and I'm going riding right now, fuck the forest service, bunch of fat douchebags who dont even use the forest just make sure you're paying your fees. fuck it im gonna go ride.
Fuck the government they ONLY want our money so they give us big fat tickets. they don't give a shit about the forest they just want our money. DH MTB is NOT destroying the nature at all !! it's just a load of bullshit. Forest service my ass !! Free country
i'VE been waiting for a legit mountain bike documentary, looks cool.
Up here in BC we went through the same thing for years and now we have a huge amount of legal trails, although some of my favorites ,because they are on private land, are still illegal;)
Looks great. I love the documentary about the documentary. Its a story in itself! I wish I would have known when you came to Bend, I could have provided some extra angles and showed you some local spots! Cant wait to see the full thing.
Nice documentary, really hope those trails become legal cause they look sick!!!
