lol flash never crashes here haha, ive programmed my own browser using microsoft explorer and google chrome built in, complete in a invirement that i trust.

Flash works well, adobe knows developers makes a product, so the product is so easy and fast to develop. Adobe makes money getting conversions of their private player to plataforms. So not only makes more money, even more reasons to buy their ide for develop because is widely extended. Apple know that and dont wish play the game. The html5 is a real altternative with engine games and is largue used, like in eyeOs or much cloud email providers.

I don't know maybe I have been lucky or something but I have honestly only had Flash cause problems 2 or 3 times in my life time. Like I said maybe I am lucky but I have yet to hear customers of mine complaint about flash player. Sometimes I feel that most people just go with what the media or these so called experts say so they then start to believe that flash player is a bad thing even if they have not personally had issues. Its like some mass mind control to make you believe anything.

@SwordWatchman You are very right, people are like cows.

However, the issue (in reality) is not that Flash is buggy (which it isn't), it's that flash is not keeping up with other developments, HTML5 is A LOT faster than flash, you would not be able to run Quake 2 that smoothly on Flash, so...... HTML5 is the way to go at the moment and Flash isn't........ but like i said, at the moment (but also in the foreseeable future).

Just google HTML5 demos and see that they are like Flash for 10 years ago, even worse on IDevices. The reason the 3D-demo run ok is the WebGL and that doesn't solve common web problems. It's not like implementing HTML5 support in a browser and everything works. Look forward to years of problems before reaching up to level of Flash.

@anonymousnumberx Websites use flash for advertisements and because most computers will have some form of flash player installed. When it comes to web business, you go for the larger market, not necessarily the better one. Because of this, Adobe hasnt really put much effort in upgrading and adapting flash, they never felt threatened or inclined to do so because of lack of competition.

@anonymousnumberx rich internet applications? I am not sure what you are referring to with this. The primary usage for flash on the internet is advertisements. That's actually how flash grew so fast. Flash's original intent was for animation and video. Using it for websites is not the best since search engines cannot pick up and rank flash sites. Applications using flash are found on non apple phone applications as well, thats about it. Any other usage is minimal.

and yes at beginning flash was meant to deal with media on the internet, but now with the new ActionScript 3.0 and AIR + Flex it became a powerful tool for developing rich internet applications like no other scripting language out there.

just because Steve Jobs said flash is obsolete platform because he can't get it on his tablet doesn't mean it's a fact

@anonymousnumberx I never said I am unfamiliar with what flash can do, rather, I am stating what it is mostly being used for in the real world. I know actionscript and have created a couple prototypes using it for testing sake. I still find Flash to be fairly limited in its use. I rarely agree with Jobs on anything, but he is right about the future of flash and action script. Also if you look at the uses for those so called "rich internet apps", they are mostly in advertising via website.

@Shiftfallout ok let me tell you this then without flash sites like youtube, lastfm, and other multimedia website wouldn't it exist, html 5 have long long way to go, you can try the html5 version of youtube and see yourself how buggy and unstable it is, flash can do what html5 (currently) does with ease, maybe in the next 3 years or so html5 will find its place on the internet.

Jobs claims to give you " the best web experience ever!" through aka Ipad/Iphone, yeah, MAYBE after 3 years.

@shorty1k Not a big Steve Jobs or apple fan, but as someone who has worked with actionscript and flash, it is some what buggy in some areas. The real complaint I have with programming flash applications is that its very limited and "funky". I see flash as an internet bubble that opens up a new market, but is not the tool of the future or the tool of choice.

HTML5 is awesome! BUT, I still need flash animator. Flash action script is still important for Flash game developers. And Flash animations too.
