dont get me wrong tho, i love barbie...i refuse to give mine away because they are cool....but as a child barbies werent a everyday thing.....id play with her when i played with my female friends but i played pretend with other things as well...i had just as much fun making a rocketship out of a cardboard box....people tend to 4get that barbie is a toy

theres really nothing wrong with expanding Barbie into other products. Theres Dolls, Cereal, Party Favors, Bandaids, alot of things have to do with Barbie these days. It is really cool, not really so much as materialistic.

i mean barbie in general IS materialistic...Even as early as the first commercial you see that girls are to use barbie (a plastic doll) as a means for pretending to have a great life..instead of going outside and playing girls sat inside and made barbie play. Nothing wrong with that though, im just saying to expand barbie is to expand materialism...
