@marmiedoise, doing Rome in the original languages in this case Latin & Amarite (I not sure I wrote it right) could mena subtitles for the audience. American Audiences are too lazy sdadly to enjoy a historical series ints original languge even if that was possible in this case.

@quantum460 The Assyrians actually took the the ark of the covenant during the first overtake of the Temple and was lost ever since. We know this because in the Old Testament, it gives a detailed account of what items were brought back into the Temple and the Ark of the Covenant was not one. If this movie depicts the Romans in 70 AD, then its in error that they show them taking the Ark.

The Tanakh itself hints that it was burried somewhere when King Yoshiyahu (pbuh) told the priests in so many words that they wouldn't be carrying it anymore. This is in the final chapters of the last book, Divrai haYamim ( II Chronicles).

While the Romans may have been pagan worshipers, stories meant a lot more in their time to them than they do to us.
