I think they are probably a type of animal, possibly one that usually exists outside our visual range. Maybe because they move too fast or only reflect certain light wave lengths.
I think these rods are living creatures and we've only just discovered them due to technology. First clip was a beauty!

There was a small documentary on these rod like species during a sky diving expedition (can't remember where) and it was a huge discovery because they were only talked about but never seen or captured on film because of their speed. Experts hope to catch and examine one to get a better understanding of what it is.

Thats a moth flying faster than the shutter speed on the camera, that's all it is a moth or large beetle.
