They used to come to our town and play on a regular, party and crash at friends houses afterwards. Tim had buzzed hair and wore BCG's complete with an elastic headstrap in the back when I first met them. All he listened to was devo and sonic youth. They used to have a female bass player in the early days and a guy we hung out with tried to hit it one night after a show but was reeeejected, lol.

Tim is actually playing a Japanese-made Intermark guitar, which you can sometimes find carrying the Cipher brand name. Billy Karren from Bikini Kill used an identical one during this time.

In this particualr video, John is using a Teisco TG-64, and Tim is playing a EKO 500 4V.

Both Tim and John used old Japanese Teisco's. Usually not in standard tuning.
