  • The Great Mattress Migration

  • I watched Casablanc for the 2nd time at a multiplex two days ago- and realized yesterday the movie dialogue in this song is from the final scene!

  • 4 People Forgot Their Popcorn For The Movie.....

  • @bubbabongwater hahahahaha, how could someone not like this song, go to the beach on a full moon, waves crashing, and hear this song.

  • i enjoy pronouns and this song

  • Brilliant song!

  • Gilnour's guitar @ 3:53 till 3;34 is so EPIC!!!. D. Gilmour is one of the best guitarists!

  • Better than grandma's pancakes!!!! Where does Gilmour go at 5:40ish?

  • I LISTENING PINK FLOYD FROM 1974,I LIKE EVERY ALBUM AND ANY SONG FROM THEM,BUT THIS ALBUM AND DIVISION BELL,FOR MI,BEST OF THE BEST.

  • That guitar, man........

  • good music, is good music.

    noone experiments like this anymore

which is why most of the music out there today suck big donkeyballs.

  • This album is as "Pink Floyd" as Dark Side of the Moon. Don't fuckin complain about who's in the band in 1987, cuz it's an awesome album.

  • @ANOLDMANONCRACK very well said. This is personally my favorite Pink Floyd album.

  • Gotta love that bass around 1:20. Sounds so great to open the song mixed with the beautiful saxophone.

  • david gilmour is one of my best alltime axemen that ever lived

  • I always think of Not Another Teen Movie when I hear this title. lol

  • Pink Floyd exist but more in limbo than any other way, they ceased to be when by some sort of mutual agreement they stopped making new music together in 1995, whilst I admire the ongoing holding operation, with Nick Mason still speaking on the band's behalf, to this day it is hard to see how they are a force in today's music world.

  • @MrDirtybear After Dark Side of the Moon stayed on the Billboard Charts for over 14 and a half YEARS...WHICH IS THE ALL TIME UNDISPUTED RECORD for Sales and Playlist they became a "FORCE" unto itself never to be emulated again by any other musical entity in History which makes them "beyond" the normal description of just exactly what is open for comment...or rather opinion.

  • @GuitaristPAX Granted they created a record for longevity in the Billboard Charts that is hard to be beat. At an individual level they wrote the soundtrack for a generation of teenagers that made staying in their bedrooms and listening to music more palatable. I was one of those teenagers. I don't have the stats to hand but I suspect that the previous record holder was the s/t album 'The Sound Of Music' , all longevity records get broken. What of today's music do you admire?

  • @MrDirtybear No Sir...the Sound of Music did not ever top Dark Side of the Moon ... DSOM IS the LONGEST CHARTING RECORD OF ALL TIME...NO one even comes close...14 and a half years! It's true my friend. But there is some music I like these days. Gary Moore is one of my faves & Blue October...I haven't really been outside of my own little world musically...I am a Guitar player myself and I've been compiling music from years gone by for a record that is long overdue for me...I'll post it soon.

  • @GuitaristPAX Let me see if I can be simple enough to be understood. Prior to the DSOTM 'The Sound Of Music S/T' was the biggest seller, note;prior to. There is a link here;soundtrack music- The Sound of Music sold on the back of the film-not the 1958 stage musical (I am happy to be corrected on dates) it is interesting that Pink Floyd made films for several of the DSOTM compositions, and that shifted the focus of how it worked as a piece of music. Here's to the s/t you are going to upload...

  • Love it! Rocker

  • Simply put, a fracking awesome song. My favourite on this album.

  • This song makes me orgasm faster than any woman.

    Eargasm at 3:53

  • @Rampagingnoob are you then a lesbian?

  • Pure perfection!!!!!!

imho one of the best floyd songs ever....have heard it about a zillion times from the day it came out.

even the outro itself is a masterpiece :-)

  • most of this song starting at 1:10 could have been mixed in certain parts of The Last Airbender movie......maybe?.....anyway this has always been my favorite song on the whole CD

  • perfect song to have sex to.

  • Lapse is By Faaaar eXtreemly Under-rated I oh so Loooouuuvvve the sound of Dave Melody of rick, and oh all that.

  • This is an awesome song - the whole record is best played at night, which somehow makes it sound better.

  • It's side two of this album that has stood the test of time. Particularly, this song, New Machine One & Two, Terminal Frost. Also, the "intro" (Gilmour's guitar solo) of Sorrow, which I think is the high point of the album (the intro, not the rest of the song). Back in '87, after the intro of Sorrow, I would lift the needle.

  • i downloaded this song off of sharebear years ago, but someone replaced the epic guitar solo with 45 seconds of shitty deathmetal...

  • @tweak548 wtf? The same thing happened to me when a buddy of mine gave me these tunes. I was getting stoned outside and it was dark. I was getting into the music and was waiting for the solo and then.....GROOOOOOOOOWL! It scared the shit out of me!

  • @tweak548 yup, happened to me too.

  • this is my top 3 favorites songs from pink floyd: TERMINAL FROST, SORROW

    AND...YET ANOTHER MOVIE.

i don t know why the people keep saying....that, the beattles or the rollings stones are the best bands of all time, gees........i mean, are any of those jerks ever listen pink floyd??

  • sorrow and this song are my favorite on this album

  • I find it interesting how pink floyd's albums are just like one huge song because each songs ending is always another songs beginning :D

  • Well, I am from Poland, So I.....I am soryy, my English is poor, well.....przeszkadza mi perkusja, gdyby była może wersją Nick Mason, może lepie by brzmiała. Album nie jest zły, powiem "inny", przyciągający. Nic dziwnego, większość fanów-w tym i ja-przeszło na stronę David'a Gilmour"a. Doskonałe Hammond'y i solo Dave'a Gilmour'a. Cenię Jego za ten talent. To Gitara "Unikat". Jeśli Pete Towsend Jego lubi, Ten Facet "coś" musi mieć, że przyciąga. Ale bym chciał mieć taki talent......To Mój Idol.

  • He has laughed and he has cried, He has fought and he has died, He's just the same as all the rest, He's not the worst and he's not the best ... this is just fuckin' beautiful

  • Since 1989 the Ever Sun shined into Darkness after its improvement at Ryesgade 106 Awakened many Space Monsters in Deep Space on their way to here to Search the Truth of Why it was Made in 1998 Second Time Improvement some other Place in the Universe coarsed an Universial Explotion and will reach this Part of Universe 40 Billion Years to go Until impact (Dream Facts)

  • this album is underrated, the whole album speaks for itself in so many ways with each song, it tells a story

  • Pink Floyd's let their guitars sing...epic guitar solos!

  • A simple masterpiece, in both ways: sound and lyrics.

  • @silencedNXK more the two ways.

  • 1 word for Pink Floyd....Amazing.

  • One of my favorite Floyd albums.. A lot of people look down on it though.."Ohh it has no Roger Waters" its not really Pink Floyd!.

In fighting this argument, aren't we just retracing the ownership war between David and Roger? Pink Floyd can not be owned, its a feeling.

But let's just except " A Momentary Lapse of Reason" for what it is is.. A QUALITY album.

  • This music sounds out of this world!

Thank you very much for posting it, Flamescream!

    Dmitri

  • this song come from the heaven

  • @iboynez yeah man its on this album but the song is called one slip lmao

  • inner-cyber-systems mp3.com.au my free Music

  • Was there ever a Floyd lyric that said "One slip...one single slip?" and if so, where do I find it? I would have bet money it was this song but apparently it's not. Please advise. Thanks! Love the Floyd!

  • For me, a momentary lapse of reason is the bes album from pink floyd. So clean, perfect and mature. A journey...

  • have pink floyd one suck music? i dont think so

  • This stays in my top 3 of best Floyd songs!!!!

  • OH MY GOD THIS IS AWESOME!!!! wait........whats this white stuff in my ears?

  • Did I just cum in my jeans? I submit that I did.

  • I will never ever be at more peace while listening to music then i am now

  • @bloodycrowx23 pink floyd's music was kind of a religion to me...and "a momentary lapse of reason" is a great album, as well as for example "atom heart mother" or "dark side of the moon" are from beyond this world.... you can't enjoy "a piper at the gates of dawn" or "a saucer full of secrets" though, even on LSD ;)

  • I loved Waters, but his ego became too much and he left. Musically he was not even close to being the most influential. Lyrically, yes - I'd say the lyrics fell off with his departure, but not in an alarming way - Gilmour has emulated his style without going overboard like Waters' progression. The constant angst gets stale at some point.

I couldn't imagine Floyd without Gilmour or Wright.

  • @wvankley I agree, Waters was great, and the band became what it was in large part because of him. But I think him leaving was necessary at that time for everyone involved to continue to evolve musically. Besides, it really cut Gilmour loose to showcase his guitar skills, and perform some of the most amazing guitar work ever IMO.

  • @lou938

I agree, the lead guitar and production has been central in the sound. I have every one of Roger's solo albums and they're good, but they tend to be oppressive and overly stative. It's OK to put in a song or two, but to have every album be so heavy is kind of draining to me. It was actually refreshing when the change happened - imo.

  • when i listening this song.......i dont know its like travells me iam so relaxed and fell.........masterpiece

  • im in heaven man

  • Roger Waters was the man and anyone who doesn't like him can stfu

  • i haven't heard this song in like 10 years, when it got to 1:37 my brain just exploded from nostalgia.

  • incredible solo

  • Not my very favorite Floyd album (still SUPERB, though), but it definitely has my all time favorite cover artwork.

  • I find it the best of them all. And I know all the other great albums too...

  • Borrowed this from a friend some time ago, never gave it back its fab x

  • damn...

  • the bets are off . the music from pink floyd will never die.

  • This album is one of the best

  • aahhhhhhhhhh

  • I love this alblum! Very atmospheric and very underrated!

  • People say that Pink Floyd isn't Pink Floyd without Roger Waters - but come on, Pink Floyd isn't Pink Floyd without David Gilmour!

  • @uk6strings: yes and no :)

  • @uk6strings im agree

  • @uk6strings Pink Floyd is Pink Floyd....PERIOD!

  • @uk6strings It's not Pink Floyd with out "Pinky" the character who was tightly based on Roger Waters in "The Wall"

  • @uk6strings: Agree. Some complain Pink Floyd should have ended w/ Roger Waters exit. I contend that we might never have seen/heard David Gilmour as brightly as we did had: a) Roger Waters stayed on with Floyd to produce sub-par music under a sub-par working environment...or b) Gilmour had not challenged himself to take the mantle of Pink Floyd. That self imposed pressure under the Floyd name gave Gilmour the drive to continue providing unique music in an arguably ubiquitous music environ

  • @permasun1 Well put Squire! David Gilmour, Rick Wright & Nick Mason are the Heart, Soul & the manifestation of all the great musical ideas that have came forth...Roger Waters although quite a genius in his own right would have NEVER attained the immortal status that he so enjoys today had it not been for his band and Alan Parsons~Historical FACT: Dark Side of the Moon stayed in Billboard Top Play/Selling list for over 14 and a half years...NO ONE TOPS THAT ONE IN HISTORY...NO ONE EVER WILL !!!

  • @GuitaristPAX Well yourself Squire! Agree w/everything you wrote. Cheers!

  • @uk6strings i wonder what it would of been like though if syd stayed

  • @TheeFJsaint The band would have gone in a different direction than it did. Wish you were here would not have been made and it would be a different band than the one we know today.

  • @uk6strings Pink Floyd is not Pink Floyd without Pink Floyd.

  • @uk6strings i agree

  • @uk6strings I agree with both. Each person had their influences on the band, and both were AMAZING

  • @uk6strings True True TrueTrue True TrueTrue True TrueTrue True TrueTrue True TrueTrue TrueTrue TrueTrue True TrueTrue True TrueTrue True TrueTrue TrueTrue TrueTrue True TrueTrue True TrueTrue True TrueTrue True TrueTrue True True

  • Does anybody have a remote idea what idea this song conveys? i've looked at the lyrics and i cant make heads or tales of it.

It sounds cool, but i dont understand it.

If somebody could please give me an idea of what i'm listening to, it would be much obliged.

  • Pink Floyd with or with out waters is awesome, Screw it PINK FLOYD IS AWESOME!

  • Comment removed

  • @cutter26947 No. You're totally wrong. ENTIRELY WRONG.

    THIS ALBUM *IS* AWESOME.

not was, that means it is awesome in the past, but it's still awesome today.

  • After Waters?????

    Waters was the soul!!!!!!

  • no no, waters was the brain. He was neither the soul nor the heart :)

But important anyway, unfortunately, so they could not get without each other....a bit like Genesis and Phil Collins.

But " a momentary lapse of reason" is one of the very great albums at all!

  • waters might have been the brain, but could you exist with only a brain...?

  • That was exactly what I wrote: They could not get without each other. I still love "a momentary lapse of reason" but what came afterwards is not compareable with Atom Heart Mother, Dark side of the moon, wish you were here...but also Roger Waters was not usable allone :)

  • let me throw this out there. music is a matter of taste so i'm not saying that you're wrong.

take Waters away and Pink Floyd can continue, take Gilmour away and Pink Floyd is dead. Waters can't carry the band, Gilmour can.

that wasn't meant to take anything away from Waters at all.

  • 3.50 - the chilling solo :D Mighty song!

  • That's a lot of beds.

I love how this song was made. Some say too 80s, but..considering the time period it makes sense. It's one of the stronger tracks, lyrics wise on the album.

The part from 0:49 to 1:10 is awesome too.

  • I love that sax in the beginning

  • Great song. Reminds of when Rock used to top the charts in the 70's and 80's. Nowadays, tasteless crap does it.

  • . .Yeah . .I heard at soem English festival a couple years ago, they had the chance to get the real Floyd (Rick was still with us and Roger would've done it) and they had Gay Z (I mean jay z . .lol) instead . .poor

  • @JoesandJs for example usher the jerk rules the charts now.. I dont know who make sthe hiphop the top of the charts. I love Floyd.

  • 3:54 to 4:34 : jizzed...in my pants

  • AGREED! lol, the drums on this song are great too.

  • @20gazzmills I remember Gilmour saying it was like drum city, they had 3 drummmers just for this one song.

  • <3 Nice

  • i love pink floyd...I love this song...

  • not a partiular pink flyoyd fan, BUT i do like this one :)

  • i started liking pink floyd when i was 14 because of a guitar class i took i started getting into older stuff now im 16 and i still like them its not about its about musical taste, and some people just have good taste '-'

  • pf is great but...gilmour blows waters away

  • Well I guess I win....I was born in 1965. Age has nothing to do with music. If you like it you like it, if you don't then you don't. Don't let age stick you into one era or one type of music. I was 12 or 13 when disco was big and I loved it. I took some crap for it but I didn't care. If the sound you hear pleases your ear then who cares what anyone thinks. Thinking for yourself will get you further than conforming like a sheep in the herd.

  • :-) my lovely floyd

  • Who here was even alive in 1987?

  • I know I wasn't.

  • @torak883 born in 88 and I still LOVE floyd.

  • lol im 15 and i LOVE Floyd , i think i can thank my Dad for that

  • @torak883 ye, i started loving them when i was 10 or sumthing....and pretty much thanks to my dad aswell =D

  • Thanks I am officially old! born 1982

  • 1980 brother. Don't feel bad. I feel your pain.

  • I dont know Csian all Pink Floyd albums kick ass Dark side of the Moon is just an addition to all of the Floyd legacy, and their creation of some of the best music in its time and for my oppinion i think even still today.

  • this song is incredible... the best post-Wall Floyd song in my opinion and actually one of my favorite Floyd songs overall. the vibe created by this song is awesome. it's so moody... gilmour is an incredible musician and how about giving him credit for trying to carry on the Floyd without Waters?

  • Very much so Agreed

  • If you take your prejudice against DG, you will start to enjoy the last two albums and understand what a beautiful music you are missing. The RW lyrics era was amazing. Still, the music is what differentiate PF from all the others. I love DG and RW alike. I wouldn't say a single bad word about either.

  • I'm sorry for the fans, and I understand that you can enjoy this music, but as a Floyd fan too, I felt that this album was an offense to the band legacy. Do you imagine Paul and Ringo recording a new Beatles album? This is obviously a Dave solo album sold as Pink Floyd because a question of marketing.

  • and what about the final cut being a roger waters solo album being sold as Pink Floyd...??

i mean to some point i understand your point of view, when i listen to this album i know its not to be compared to pink floyd when roger waters was there, without roger its not really the pink floyd just a fragment but i still apreaciate the music independently of the name it comes along with.

(dont take it personal, i do not intend to offend you).

  • one of the FLOYD's best albums... of course NOTHING or NO ONE comes even close to DARK SIDE OF THE MOON

  • so good

  • amazing song.. im in love with this album.

  • underrated album....just as brilliant as anything else from the great Floyd!

  • Yea i saw Casablanca a few years ago and i can't believe how many cliches came from that movie

  • I saw them 4 times in Vancouver. Their early concerts are a blur. Saw Division Bell/Pulse 2 nights in a row, summer 1994. Mr Gilmour may not have the fastest fingers in the west. But he can do more with one note than I can do with my entire guitar. This solo is amazing. Listen to , "coming back to life". Not a single note out of place. 10 people on stage for live shows. His back up guitar for Division Bell/Pulse was Tim Renwick. He was Al Stewarts guitar player on Year of the Cat.

  • i wonder how the hell this vid only got 24k views...

this has one of the best solos ever...Momentary Lapse of Reason album is way underrated

  • everyone has the CD and does not need to listen to it here :)

  • " .. just the same as all the rest: not the worst and not the best. . " deep philosophy. . .

  • This whole album is just...an orgasm.

  • @noodle0912 , oh yeah, it is that good aye, so much that i cant quite put my finger on it...

  • @noodle0912 . .. . . I was always looking for a way to explain this album, I can safely call the search off now.

  • @noodle0912

    eargasm too ;)

  • does anyone know if the words spoken in the song originate from a movie?

  • According to Wikipedia, they're from Casablanca.

  • This is possibly the most powerful track ever produced. "What about us?" (5:51) always plays with my mind.

  • This track includes one of the best solos ever. Real progressive rock, which seems to remain fresh forever.

  • agreed.

  • they should have used this in a dark thriller film credits , would just fit perfectly for something like Casablanca , (i do hear that snip of the ending scene dialogue in there)

  • deffinitly there best album

sounds fucking awsome up loud on my stero !!!

  • I saw them perform this song during the Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour, in 1987. I remember it like it was yesterday.Best damn concert I ever saw in my life. Man,I will miss these guys. RIP Richard Wright

  • Wow I love this song at 3:54 it's that coming from heaven or hell? It's amazing

  • it piss me off becaus this my favorite band and one of the member is dead i cant see them anymore...

  • pink floyd the best!

  • 3.55... that solo transports me to another world

  • This THE NEW AGE PSYCHADELIA ...I LOVE THIS AWESOME MUSICA !

  • Simple perfection!

  • awesomeness

  • Poor, sad old men the ones that underestimate Music.

    This is Music my friends.

  • 1. great lyrics that make sense

    2. amazing sound

    3. epic guitar solo

    4. unique and one of a kind

    5. its Pink Folyd :)

  • never noticed the get drunk and fall down...but then again I have in on cassette

  • their best album in my opinion

  • one of the greatest song i ever heard in my short life.

  • 1:25 lmfao "get drunk and fall down"

  • Isn't it a beautiful line? Its as simple as that, get drunk and fall down.

  • yes

  • yes

  • Pink Floyd's music is able to move the depths of my soul without beeing in love or feeling sad... they just do it

  • this song blows my mind away!!

  • I heard a lot of people don't like this song, I don't see why, it's pretty good.

  • Methinks the production could turn some people off. Musically, the Floyds' motto always was 'less is more', to the extent that session and guest musicians felt guilty getting paid so well for playing so little notes. Seen in that light, this is a very somptuously produced song. I wonder what the campfire version sounds like.

  • strange and awesome. definition of pink floyd. fucking great. shine on you, pink floyd

  • A world class performance of a world class compilation by world class musicians! Stellar!

  • There will Never be another group like Pink Floyd.
