The Boss, as with all Boss pedal simulators, does not come close the the Digitech. The Digitech has a better digital chipset that spits on the Boss COSM by: Roland. Roland was the O.K in the 90's but they do not come close the the electric/acoustic simulators from ZOOM, Digitech, or Line 6.
Back around 1995 Digitech had a GSP 2101 cost around $750.00 that which done most everything then they came out with GNX3000 & left off a bunch of stuff so why should I pay more than $100.00 for a Guitar processor? Danelectro has the D1 gain boost & Milkshake Chorus. Behringer makes a Acoustic simulator & Wah & RV600 reverb & Delta makes a good Guitar processor & Linux ArtistX has a Guitar processor for free If You have high speed Internet & a blank DVD & time to download over 3 GB
Why does Boss acoustic simulator Sound better? Why does the PR355 Sound better I do Not want to spend any more money than what the PR255 cost It seems to have all the features I want so why spend more?
dude you get some nice sounds, can you help me get a preset replicating a megadeth or at least metallica sound because i can"t seem to get a good sound without putting too much distortion
OMG ! Youre the first person Ive ever seen with the same amp as mine :) Im gonna get the rp500 but i like your sounds alot. I was wondering how you connect the pedal to the amp... do you use the stereo jacks at the back to bypass the amps distortion and eq ... thx for reading this :)
EVERYONE GET THE RP355........ ITS WAY BETTER TRUST ME......... I HAVE BOTH OF THESE ..RP355 OWNS... BETTER SOUND.. BETTER SETTUP..MORE PARAMETERS,AMPS,ETC ..... believe me is nice.
i bought this rp 255 a while back, and i really liked it, but after a while the right footswitch stopped working, and that really made me mad. anybody know how or where i can get it fixed???
@Whisp201... ask this guy on youtube ... hes called ralfyung i think.... he might b able 2 tell u that........U SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE RP355 .. i have the rp355 for 2 years now and nothing is wrong with it...... plus is a big jump from the rp355
I have a question...I am mainly a heavy metal player...and i bought the rp50 when i was a newb and the distortion was very weak....what is heavy distortion on this pedal??
when you hit the store button after making a preset the first thing you see is the change name thing. After hitting the store button again you can change the present by pressing the up or down footswitches to change the preset location. For example, changing preset F4 (factory preset 4) means that you will store to U4 (user preset 4) by default unless you press the up/down footswitches. You can change the order by using X-edit, or doing many cycles of storing a preset to change its location.
Yeah. You can do a factory reset (which erases all of your presets and takes you to the pedal calibration menu). You can check the manual on how to do a factory reset. And you can also overwrite a preset with the original factory preset. Lets say you have a preset that you don't like and it is patch 15. Just find the corresponding factory preset (60 user and 60 factory 120 total) and overwrite patche 15 with it.
Idk. it might get a better bass boost moving all that air but i think it would sound pretty much the same. This amp's eq response is pretty neutral with all the settings at 12 o clock, and it approximates the eq response of the PA system i plug into at church. If i get a larger amp it would have to have close to the same sound as this one.
But then again, It really depends on the amp. You can have the biggest amp and have a crappy sound, or you can have this mini-beast which does a great job.
Sure it does. I'll post some videos with my recent (and pretty much finalized) presets and then i'll do a vid showing some metal presets. Please go easy on me as i don't follow metal at all so I will prolly just post some of the higher gain sounds. I do have some Idea of metal sounds but forgive me if what i post isn't what you were expecting.
Yes it has an envelope filter. I personally don't think it is very good because it isn't very dynamic. And as for an ossilator do you mean tremelo or vibrato. Because it has a tremolo, vibrato, vibropan (vibrato and panner at the same time), and rotary (makes it sound like a rotory speaker by combining the trememlo and vibrato and i would imagin the panner as well if you use it in stereo) effects. If they don't have it then you cant load anything on their although you could try to emulate it
Like IFoughtTheLaw369. She has an RP50 (i'm not sure if she has anything better now), which doesn't have an acoustic simulator and she prety much used the effects she had available to create one.
btw i think you're using the expression pedal as a gain regulator, not an on and off switch could you make a preset showing amp modeling like fender bassman perhaps? i would apreciate any help, i am glad you are using your talents for the one who gave them to you
Actually it does turn the tube screamer on and off, but the Bassman amp modeling that I'm using is set to 30 gain which gives it a crunchy sound and helps boost the bass. I'll see what i can do for the amp modeling.

Nice video, but it doesn't seem like you are doing the tones justice by using whatever video camera's audio you're using.
I find that the tones straight into the computer are freaking awesome.
This doesn't sound bad, just a little tinny on every tone perhaps due to lack of bass response.
