@aeminence i have to disagree with that. in wow bosses have phases based on time or hp that require you to change you tactic im certain rift had so too, or the boss doesnt take that long at all (in dungeons no boss takes 9 minutes or your gear/dmg lacks a lot) but maybe he/she had never player a tank since tankjob can be the most boring and repetetive since you have to eat every dmg anyway :)

lancer in tera is quite good dueling class too.I enjoed every single pvp.

@ashy7731 Guild Wars 2 will be very different from the first one. I only played GW for a short while, but I can tell. GW2 is the first mmorpg I've been really interested since quitting WoW a long time ago. I could tell that the previous "wow killers" would be pretty much crap ever since I first saw them. They always have really boring combat mechanics and animations, that are important for me. I'm not saying that I'm 100% sure it will be really awesome, but it sure does look very promising.

but keep in mind that this game like many other eastern mmorpg's are not based on reality events. asians and asian game developers focus more on the theme "anime/manga" which basicly are built upon stories for teenagers to the public of teens.

if you haven't noticed the main character roles (ex pokemon) are obviously teenagers, to me it doesn't look like a coincidence that teen-characters excist in this game.

@Draeber and just to stand on the developers side here alittle, one of the main basics of this game was to create a game with characters that has the very same armor/clothing as you are used to see during load-screens in most mmorpg's, which i would say, it looks like a total success.

however, i don't think this game will last very long since this is going to be a very restricted p2p game with no free alternatives at all and on top of that, this is not going to be playable on many pc's.

I think people assume too much that the majority of gamers prefer a FTP model. I don't, and many gamers I've talked to also prefer the PTP model. The main reason for me personally is I don't want additional content marketed to me, I'd rather pay a monthly fee and have all the content available.

Now, if it's a FTP model where the only content you can purchase is aesthetic/vanity items, I'm mostly okay with that, although I'd still prefer PTP, no shopping needed.

@tonmandude No man, the game is being localized by a US team, they are unbound from any contract saying that the game must be built to Korean standards, which means En Masse (US team) can do whatever they want with it. They have been working on it for over a year redoing the voices to English, some quests, combat tweaks, less revealing clothing on some females, political system changes.. not sure what else. But it's not a grind fest, that much I know :)

I just tested this game out on my iMac bootcamping Windows 7, and it ran surprisingly smooth. Of course it was only on 1080 resolution with default settings. I had no idea how to tweak any of the graphic settings since everything was in Korean but I think my iMac will definitely be able to play this game once it hits North America. Can't wait!
