However much this example is not good, not to mention is a terrible video, I would like to add that from orbit, the idea is not so un-sound. Any one ever read up on Nasa in the last two decades? They had tried running a line that would take the earths magnetic field and convert it into a/c for the space station. The problem was, there was so much magnetic resistance, it overheated the wires and melted them. The line was disconnected prematurely before they could even get the whole thing out.
The video is not real time. If you watch the long rods extending off this device, you can see the edges are blurred. This would not be true if this were real time, especially at these slow rotational speeds. This only happens when a fast moving object is captured in freeze frame increments.

This isn't fake for everyone who says it is. If you want to build one the instructions are in Davis's manual of magnetism written in 1842. So this is not a one of a kind, someone made this over 168 years ago. In the manual, go to pg 107 or experiment 178 titled, "magnet revolving by earth's action" the full book is on google books. all epowerplus I claimed "is that my motor utilizes the earth`s magnetic field as its outer stator field." This is exactly the same device in the manual.

@thefamousrobloxian The earths magnetic field is very weak and this is why it is so slow to get up to speed, which takes about two minutes or so. Its not 60 per second, its 60 rounds per minute, which is the maximum speed up until now....This is why it looks like a slide show, but it is a video and it is in real time...
To bring everyone up to speed, it uses batteries as its energy source. It is novel in that it uses the earth as its permanent magnet stator. They simply replaced the permanent magnet or electro-magnet that is used normally used, and are using the earth as the magnet instead.
Some motor designs don't use permanent magnets at all, some use a battery or line voltage to power an electro-magnet instead, alleviating the cost and weight associated with such magnets.

The proximity of 60hz as used in our power grid make me think your motor may be interacting with the natural frequency of the earths magnetic resonance causing your rotor to spin.

I'm pretty much convinced it's genuine and plan to build something very similar myself.
motors work on the principle of changing magnetic fields inside repelling and attracting constant magnets that are attached to the casing. It should be possible to disband with the outer magnets and use magnets that god gave us, i.e the earth's magnetic fields.
It won't be very useful and you won't be able to get free energy out of it but it still a fascinating concept.
Its principle is similar to a magnetic compass and has weights attached to it to store energy and stored energy give it a rotation when the both poles of motor are aligned along earth's magnetic field...in case if we remove the weights the motor will come to halt when the motor poles are aligned along earth's mf...

It would be neat to see if you could increase this motor's efficiency.
One method I could think of would be to place iron cubes to the North and South of the device. The iron should attract the flux lines, and cause them to focus in between the cubes.
The cubes could be machined to enhance this effect. By making the outer faces of the cubes convex, and the inner faces of the cubes concave. Like this:

Yes, the earth magnet field is there. Just like the field of any other permanent magnet. But if you cannot turn the field on and off, then there won't be rotation. In other worlds: the same method should be adaptable to any other magnetic field.

The engineer whom viewed a live demo of my motor & the one who wrote this article stated what he seen...He noted (did not hide) in the article that I told him I never claimed it was a free energy device. One thing for sure, I am using the earths magnetic field as my outer stator field & this alone reduces the amount of energy required to power my motor`s rotor field...So, is this "partly free energy assist" or not....thats one of my claims not noted in the article, + a great educational tool...
I guess it would depend on if you class the earth field as free energy. Personally i would not, but in some ways you could consider it as free, since you do not have to pay for it. Same as with tidal power solar and wind power, We dont pay money for the wind so in a way it is free:).

Moving two opposing magnetic poles apart requires energy, and moving them back to their original position returns the exact same amount of energy as it took to separate them. Just like lifting an object up (requires energy) and lowering returns that exact amount of energy. This is the reason that gravity and magnetism engines always fail. Shown in high school physics. Is there a patent or scientific article associated to this 'invention'?
I think it is perfectly fair for people here to ask you to prove your claim with some information other than a spinning thing on youtube. Some may be more polite about it than others but many of us are quite tired of people posting videos with bogus claims and have become quite jaded in our quest to find something truly original, function and real. Looks like the Old Steam Engine powered globe, just run in revers. Check out the directional jets at the top and bottom. Just pointing the other direction. eg played in revers. so as it stops due to lack of steam, it apears to start without steam. !

All my videos were taken with the same cheap video cam, thats what I had at the time. It takes my "earth motor" about one minute or so to reach full speed, thats why it looks as it does. I am here to encourage new science and engineering, not to be a producer of the best videos in town. If you don`t like what you see, just move on...Challenged, I am not...

From what I can understand from what is written the device in the picture is a kinetic motor which turns by the EM field flowing around it like wind on a pin wheel. I would like to know how you got the EM field to interact with your motor?

I think if you need the vents for cooling, wouldnt it cool more if you turned one off your elbow's the other direction? Your right, but I did this for only one reason. It was to show the viewer that "air was not part of the equation". The two vents are in the direction of the rotation which shows no air assist, thats what I wanted to demonstrate. Great observation, thanks for your input....
Boy that is one frictionless machine. I mean, Your average fridge-magnet has a magnetic field in the venue of a few millitesla... Earth has a magnetic field of around 30-60 microtesla. So you have a machine that taps into an magnetic field of microscopic quantity. Why not just use up some old hard-drive magnets and get that thing going supersonic.

I get this sneaking suspicion that this never actually moved on it's own. If the earths magnetic field were strong enough in one place to induce that kind of motion the cameras filming it would have shown sever artifacting, unless these are a series of stills taken with an analog camera and then made into a slideshow.
This video which is only 59-seconds in duration was taken with a cheap webcam and in real time...It takes the "earth motor" about one minute or so to reach full speed...The slow startup is due to the "weak" earths magnetic field. This motor is as real as you are...and it works as I have stated in previous comments...along with the other info given about this video...Your thoughts are all wrong, what more can I say...
yes even a cheap webcam can be used for stop motion animation. Perhaps you should advance your skills in stop motion animation and read up on the laws of thermodynamics, one of those rules basicaly says, you cant get something from nothing, energy cannot be created or distroyed however it may change forms from kinetic, to electromagnetic, to heat. a magnet can only store potential energy much like you would hold a ball up in the air, it has potential to fall down, when it does its kenetic energy

You are right. I was trying to come up with combinations of several different motor types using the strengths of one to offset the weaknesses of the other. After I posted I saw your point. I like the idea of using gravity and magnets in combination, passably using magnetic liquid as a way to overcome gravity while still providing the offset balance in the wheel for gravity powered torque. The magnet needs to release the liquid before it stops the wheel.

since it spins, in theory you could modify it slightly to capitilise on its rotary force, creating energy. one example would be a generator or a charger,or some kind of gear could be attached. or you could simply attach a few fan blades to it, and sell it as an 'eco-fan'. pretty cool!

Congradulations. Is the principal now patented? Westinghouse or Siemens would likely wrestle or bid to "own" you. Never mind the arms, what are the nozzles for? I would fake this by filling the body with dry-ice (to create a Hero's engine) and then show the film backwards.
The nozzles that you see in this video is only to allow for air circulation within the motor and out...As you can see the nozzles are facing in the same direction as its rotation...they function as air inlets, thats all...nothing more.
Go back at the beginning and read all of the postings and you will find the answer, its there on the line for all to see...The vents are there to keep things cool inside, thats all...A good science investigator keeps on searching with his/her eyes open...Remember, the answer it not always in a book and the laws of the universe is not written in stone..Mankind does make lots of mistakes and new books are written daily, so what does this say. This isn't fake for everyone who says it is. If you want to build one the instructions are in Davis's manual of magnetism written in 1842. So this is not a one of a kind, someone made this over 168 years ago. In the manual, go to pg 107 or experiment 178 titled, "magnet revolving by earth's action" the full book is on google books. all epowerplus I claimed "is that my motor utilizes the earth`s magnetic field as its outer stator field." This is exactly the same device in the manual.

@teremanacity right. it also requires suspicion and a willingness to accept being laughed at if you're wrong. a number of the best scientists were laughed at, died in obscurity (I can think of one I doubt any of you know the name of) and then had their ideas 'stolen' by other scientists later (like pasteur). a wire could be made to move providing enough current was going through it. use? basically nill. detecting changes in the earth's field maybe? SQUIDs (the superconductors) do that better

Its not 60 per second, its 60 rounds per minute, which is the maximum speed up until now....This is why it looks like a slide show, but it is a video and it is in real time...

To bring everyone up to speed, it uses batteries as its energy source. It is novel in that it uses the earth as its permanent magnet stator. They simply replaced the permanent magnet or electro-magnet that is used normally used, and are using the earth as the magnet instead.
Some motor designs don't use permanent magnets at all, some use a battery or line voltage to power an electro-magnet instead, alleviating the cost and weight associated with such magnets.

The proximity of 60hz as used in our power grid make me think your motor may be interacting with the natural frequency of the earths magnetic resonance causing your rotor to spin.
There MUST be "free" energy produced to counteract the drag thru the air, so you may have a valuable key to tap into this resource.
I would love to see more of how it is constructed and explanation of how you believe it works.

I'm pretty much convinced it's genuine and plan to build something very similar myself.
motors work on the principle of changing magnetic fields inside repelling and attracting constant magnets that are attached to the casing. It should be possible to disband with the outer magnets and use magnets that god gave us, i.e the earth's magnetic fields.
It won't be very useful and you won't be able to get free energy out of it but it still a fascinating concept.

Its principle is similar to a magnetic compass and has weights attached to it to store energy and stored energy give it a rotation when the both poles of motor are aligned along earth's magnetic field...in case if we remove the weights the motor will come to halt when the motor poles are aligned along earth's mf...

It would be neat to see if you could increase this motor's efficiency.
One method I could think of would be to place iron cubes to the North and South of the device. The iron should attract the flux lines, and cause them to focus in between the cubes.
The cubes could be machined to enhance this effect. By making the outer faces of the cubes convex, and the inner faces of the cubes concave. Like this:

Yes, the earth magnet field is there. Just like the field of any other permanent magnet. But if you cannot turn the field on and off, then there won't be rotation. In other worlds: the same method should be adaptable to any other magnetic field.

The engineer whom viewed a live demo of my motor & the one who wrote this article stated what he seen...He noted (did not hide) in the article that I told him I never claimed it was a free energy device. One thing for sure, I am using the earths magnetic field as my outer stator field & this alone reduces the amount of energy required to power my motor`s rotor field...So, is this "partly free energy assist" or not....thats one of my claims not noted in the article, + a great educational tool...

I guess it would depend on if you class the earth field as free energy. Personally i would not, but in some ways you could consider it as free, since you do not have to pay for it. Same as with tidal power solar and wind power, We dont pay money for the wind so in a way it is free:).

Moving two opposing magnetic poles apart requires energy, and moving them back to their original position returns the exact same amount of energy as it took to separate them. Just like lifting an object up (requires energy) and lowering returns that exact amount of energy. This is the reason that gravity and magnetism engines always fail. Shown in high school physics. Is there a patent or scientific article associated to this 'invention'?

I think it is perfectly fair for people here to ask you to prove your claim with some information other than a spinning thing on youtube. Some may be more polite about it than others but many of us are quite tired of people posting videos with bogus claims and have become quite jaded in our quest to find something truly original, function and real. For all we know there is a fan off camera blowing this thing like a pinwheel. This video seriously does not show anything of significance.

Looks like the Old Steam Engine powered globe, just run in revers. Check out the directional jets at the top and bottom. Just pointing the other direction. eg played in revers. so as it stops due to lack of steam, it apears to start without steam. !

All my videos were taken with the same cheap video cam, thats what I had at the time. It takes my "earth motor" about one minute or so to reach full speed, thats why it looks as it does. I am here to encourage new science and engineering, not to be a producer of the best videos in town. If you don`t like what you see, just move on...Challenged, I am not...

yeah i agree that many "garage scientists" that didnt achieve anything new are posting videos only to post something. And many of them post half explained theories saying that it work but dont showing it actualy working :) only to catch others attention. But anyway there are many dont working Videos that inspire and give some new ideas. Interesting. Theoretically possible; but I'm not sure what the application would ever be. But, hey, that is just a matter of time.
Given the need for heat vents and the general weakness of the earth's field, the implication is that it consumes quite a bit of power.
Just openly speculating: I could see using the earth's field as a stator in nanotech. This might be very efficient at the smaller scale.

I think if you need the vents for cooling, wouldnt it cool more if you turned one off your elbow's the other direction? I dont know but it seems to me the way it is now you have two inlets that would create equal pressure working againts the concept of free airflow.Just a thought! keep up the good work.

Your right, but I did this for only one reason. It was to show the viewer that "air was not part of the equation". The two vents are in the direction of the rotation which shows no air assist, thats what I wanted to demonstrate. Great observation, thanks for your input....

Boy that is one frictionless machine. I mean, Your average fridge-magnet has a magnetic field in the venue of a few millitesla... Earth has a magnetic field of around 30-60 microtesla. So you have a machine that taps into an magnetic field of microscopic quantity. Why not just use up some old hard-drive magnets and get that thing going supersonic.

I get this sneaking suspicion that this never actually moved on it's own. If the earths magnetic field were strong enough in one place to induce that kind of motion the cameras filming it would have shown sever artifacting, unless these are a series of stills taken with an analog camera and then made into a slideshow.

This video which is only 59-seconds in duration was taken with a cheap webcam and in real time...It takes the "earth motor" about one minute or so to reach full speed...The slow startup is due to the "weak" earths magnetic field. This motor is as real as you are...and it works as I have stated in previous comments...along with the other info given about this video...Your thoughts are all wrong, what more can I say...

yes even a cheap webcam can be used for stop motion animation. Perhaps you should advance your skills in stop motion animation and read up on the laws of thermodynamics, one of those rules basicaly says, you cant get something from nothing, energy cannot be created or distroyed however it may change forms from kinetic, to electromagnetic, to heat. a magnet can only store potential energy much like you would hold a ball up in the air, it has potential to fall down, when it does its kenetic energy

Would this be able to develop enough torque to keep a solar powered sterling engine running in the dark so you could replace the solar panel with a more cost effective way of using the sun's energy? You are right. I was trying to come up with combinations of several different motor types using the strengths of one to offset the weaknesses of the other. After I posted I saw your point. I like the idea of using gravity and magnets in combination, passably using magnetic liquid as a way to overcome gravity while still providing the offset balance in the wheel for gravity powered torque. The magnet needs to release the liquid before it stops the wheel.

since it spins, in theory you could modify it slightly to capitilise on its rotary force, creating energy. one example would be a generator or a charger,or some kind of gear could be attached. or you could simply attach a few fan blades to it, and sell it as an 'eco-fan'. pretty cool!

My "earth motor" is the only electric motor in the world that utilizes the earth`s magnetic field in this manner, so it is a "one of a kind"...You will not find... this device in the "Davis Manual of Magnetism" as noted below by ClanBez.

The idea for this is in Davis's Manual of Magnetism printed in 1842. Descriptions on how to build it on page 197. Doesn't sound very strong.

that is pretty cool. in theory, couldnt a larger motor with more arms cause it to spin faster? supporting this it, the larger arms would cause more reaction with Earth's magnetic feild and also the added weight would cause momentum, therefore, causing it to spin faster and more freely, and in turn, causing an excess of energy that could be harvested. if this theory cant possibly be true, then please explain how it is wrong.

Congradulations. Is the principal now patented? Westinghouse or Siemens would likely wrestle or bid to "own" you. What needs to happen now, is to have no moving parts, which simply means to use oscillator to generate waves to move flux in a magnetic field or coil. Like the Steven Mark project, basically.

It is part of the rotor, not handles as you think. All electric motor have both a rotor and a stator and one without the other will not allow it to work. Is that to hard for you to understand..Been negative or insulting me will get you no where...I do not lie and have no need to do so..I was brought up to respect others and to tell the truth at all times..You can think it is bullshit, but I Know what I have and it is real. Never mind the arms, what are the nozzles for? I would fake this by filling the body with dry-ice (to create a Hero's engine) and then show the film backwards.

The nozzles that you see in this video is only to allow for air circulation within the motor and out...As you can see the nozzles are facing in the same direction as its rotation...they function as air inlets, thats all...nothing more.

I can see which way they are facing; that is why I suggested that the film had been reversed.
But that then raises the question of why one would need vents on such a low-power machine.

Go back at the beginning and read all of the postings and you will find the answer, its there on the line for all to see...The vents are there to keep things cool inside, thats all...A good science investigator keeps on searching with his/her eyes open...Remember, the answer it not always in a book and the laws of the universe is not written in stone..Mankind does make lots of mistakes and new books are written daily, so what does this say. One cannot investigate the contraptions shown on Youtube, so one would have to 'take the word of the inventors'. That would be extremely unscientific, especially as those inventors are either known scam-artists or are clearly deluding themselves and are completely unwilling to question their own claims. That, again, marks them out as unscientific.

So, it's the same old story. Why not take it around to the physics department at your local university? Why bother to show it on YouTube first?
PS: Make sure you go to the physics department: engineers, especially electrical engineers, are too easily fooled.
