Pretty much. He is really against people calling Aspergers a symptom of Autism, or a form of autism. He's reacting just like when people call him gay. Which means he himself probably has Aspergers and not High-Functioning Autism. He fits the profile of Aspergers more than HFA anyways. If he denies it, it means that he is what he says he's not. So, he's gay, and he has Aspergers.

Bottom line, he's very afraid of ending up in a group home with other people less capable than himself, or he himself is afraid of ending up as someone who is less capable. He thinks if he can imagine a normal life, then it's possible.
